I don't know if i'm simply delusional- But Arlecchino's emotions seem genuine, throughout this entire Teaser.
I think that's how they're trying to portray her between this teaser and the animated short from a couple days ago. She's quite gentle by nature, but her circumstances have taught her to keep a ruthless side handy.

Actually she is! I rewinded it several times but a single tears comes from each of her eyes. The rain is meant to disguise them but they are there if you look really hard at 2:13 you can already see one on her right cheek beneath her bang swoop before it slides down her jaw.

Often when characters are shown to close someone's eyes after they die, they 1) usually know its going to happen 2) Care about the person who died, and/or 3) respect the deceased very much
We can see that despite how awful she may seem, she has her own reasons
I think there is a lot more to her character than "Mommying so hard she became Father" and "please step on me" and how she's killed a bunch of people (y'know, Fatui)
Im excited to see where her story goes from here

@@DiePutzkraft scara to me was more of a pouty child. He has a unique and very interesting background/story for sure and i do really like it but he as a character unfortunately just comes across as a child who doesn't get his way rather than a character who has a compelling personality. Even parts of his backstory weren't that interesting. 😔
Personally for me, arle so far has had no weak points in her story telling thus far with the small amount we've seen.

Arlecchino seems the best done to me as well. From presumptions and original snezhnaya trailer you think shes evil, the way other characters talk about her is just a villain in its own. However her own children call each other and and members of the orphanage a home. Despite going through alot, she STILL doesnt force any of the children at the orphanage to join her. She just doesnt want to be seen as weak, and I find the way shes holding on super admirable.
For me all habinguers are good written, of course some of them are better written than others, like for example Signora, would have been cool to see more of her story ngl
But I think characters like Childe and Dottore are also good written, not only Scara and Arlecchino
They are the best part of the game imo

This shows that Father isn’t just an all evil Harbinger- but does care for the children and will always be there for them. Even at the end when her voice wavers at “my child” she’s honestly a pretty good “Father”
but she still sends them out on life threatening missions, which i like they didn’t just make her an angry mama bird, basically a harsh xianyun, but her own complex and layered character

Arlecchino makes me think of those stories where a parent passes away and though they didn't really talk or say much at home, when the child goes to collect their belongings from work, they find a bunch of pictures of them together and hear from their parents coworkers how they would talk about them all the time.
She can be said to be a cold but also very kind person, especially with the children she personally raised, she values them even more, which makes me feel sympathetic and respect
After all, Arlecchino is still a good "Father"

As I said on a short I saw, she became an unloving uncaring Father so their children wouldn't have much to lose, but to her who already lost her "family" since she was a child and twice not only from abandonment but also the fighting on the House of the Hearth, she shouldn't stand to lose her loved ones even as uncaring and unloving she tries to be, she cares and loves her children, good thing it was raining

some things i noticed...
1. fontaine has a big orphan problem
2. there's only one graveyard in all of fontaine
3. "fatherless behavior" comments incoming to people who don't have arlecchino
4. arlecchino really likes offing people with her feet
5. hoyo needs to do more backstory animations and this teaser is one of the best so far
It is just more highlighted I think, in reality liyue(China) has more orphan issue than Fontaine(French) oh don’t forget adeptius also adopt lots of female orphans which might kinda referring to those abandoned female babies in China

Everyone's talking about Arlechinno and no body is seeing the reference to Tartufe, a play by Molière.
It's been a while since I read the play, but it was a Comedy play about a wealthy family being scammed by a man named Tartufe, who was parading around as a good man or a monk. One of the two. But basically this family was like, "he's scamming us, we know it!" And he somehow managed to wiggle out of their schemes to expose him because the head of the house refused to believe his family, right up til the very end when he tried to woo one of the young daughters to marry him. Very amusing play, highly recommend giving it a read or attend a performance if you can.
The man in this video was named Tartufe, was touted as a kindly philanthropist, but turned out to be a Not So Good Person.

It’s an interesting parallel that the child’s name is Snezhevna, I hope they touch on the lore and significance of the name.
If i don't remember bad its just the surname everyone in the house of the heart has, altho its gender specific, a russian thing that males and females even if from the same family can have two different surnames
That's just the surname they give to female orphans in the House Of the Heart (for males it's Snezhevich)
It's a patronymic all Hearth's children get, so i guess it's significance is to show that they're "children of Snezhnaya"
(that girl in Inazuma that told us a bit about the hearth also had this patronymic)

After playing through her story quest, then watching her animated short and now her teaser, it really depicts why only someone like Arlecchino can be the true "King" of the House of the Hearth. Not only that, being the one that has to witness their children injured or died in front of their eyes, while also being the one that can carry on their wishes and dreams, required immense mental strength. Arlecchino said that she is cold-blooded by nature, but she didn't turn out to be an absolute heartless maniac killer, she uses it to her strength to be able to uphold her role as a strict but caring "Father", who could truly provide the abandoned lost children a real warm home.
I just came from watching the animated short. This character right here is peak Genshin showing what they really could do if they opened their bag. I'm impressed beyond words on how well made everything about Arlecchino is. This video left me shook and gave me chills in places I didn't know I could get them. Amazing...just simply amazing!

I like how she's so morally grey. I dont know whether to believe her or not with all she does and say, but there's always that grain of truth in what she does.
She does evil stuff but she does it bc she cares to a certain extent. She has this weird moral compass but it makes sense.
She isn't afraid of murder or to commit heinous crimes, but she is capable of empathy and compassion to a certain point. She is a fascinating character.
