I bought this GMC with plans for it that I cant tell you about till the next video. I bought this car to try to get it running again. this is the video. enjoy
As someone who lost his father few years back and no brothers, I totally appreciate Isaac's comradery with his siblings and his love for his father. I know as a headstrong young man 10-12 years back, how much difficult it is to raise the kids right. Now in my late thirties, appreciate the old man for his sternness and his love for the family.
I love the fact that you always remember your dad at the end. As a veteran I really respect you for honoring your dad by hanging his combat boots from the rafters. The longer I watch your videos, the more I think of you. You are a very admirable person. Keep up the good work and I'll see you soon.
Put the o2 sensor in place, it doesn't matter if the sensor is bad, some cars need correct pressure in place. Sorry for your lost, greetings from Venezuela.
Lost my dad on 11 Oct 2021. My heart goes out to you and your family. He was a key to a large family that no one realized until he was gone. He was the baby of 8 kids. Lost 3 more uncles from the family in less than 5 months after he died. It has been rough on the whole family. I'm a Vet and my dad made sure that my retirement years wouldn't be a struggle from me. The property is Generational here and my daughter is next in line to take over. I just hope I can bring her the peace and security that my dad gave me. Great watch, Brother.
Cam sensor bad can cause this. It's on the back of the motor close to where the distrib would be. Also could be the crank sensor. The TPS sensor would cause the motor to rev uncontrollably and IAC valve.
Your Definitely going to Cam it . Obviously it backfired and blew a hole in intake. No air box and sensors hooked up not helping it out any. Will be tuning in to see u get this old girl running. Those engines are good but notorious for failing oil sensor as well 👊🏿
From my family to yours. Our deepest condolences to you and your family man. One thing that makes me extremely nervous is that they rebuilt the transmission. Might be worth having a look inside the transmission and make sure the end play is to spec. And to make sure that the internal harness is connected. That engine sounds healthy despite the intake.
Excellent video. Sorry about the loss of your father 😢... I thank your father for his service.. I lost my father a few years ago.. I still miss even after all this time. May God look over you and your family.
That poor little GMC... it can read your mind and is saying "Hell NO! I'm not doing that!" :) You've got more than the normal twinkle in your eyes which leads me to believe that what you're thinking of is going to be radged... can't wait !! ;0 x
I'm sorry for your loss. Your parents did a fine job raising you and your brother. Your dad will live forever in your hearts. The best to you and yours.
I am definitely looking forward to your next video seeing what you have planned for this vehicle. I like the idea of hanging your dads boots as a way of paying respect to your dad
Love to see your bro, what a team. Looks like this was once owned by Cleetus McFarline and had James Taal the duke of nitrous standing near it. Really enjoyed going through this with ya'll.
Isaac it's cool that your brother has come to help you out. Family is important. Father's are so important they teach you things that you will remember for the rest of your life. God bless all the fathers here and not.
The combat boots is a nice touch. You and Your brother are two very lucky men to have a Dad in your life. Not to many of us have that sort of blessing. My Dad was not so much in my life,... thus my name UA-cam name, SanchosKid,... Not ashamed. But I do know who my Dad is. And I Love him. He knows it. Thanks for the content.
From what I can hear when you tried to start this GMC, I'd say that you got a timing issue, or the firing order is wrong. your suspicion about the Cam Shaft maybe correct. but the wrong firing order can cause this too. I'd pull the spark plugs, and make sure they're alright, considering how long this truck has been sitting. And maybe put some fresh gas and oil in it. Sometimes stale gas can cause cars to run like Dukey, like this particular truck.
I was the engine mechanic in a wrecking yard at my last job for 32 years before I retired. Over the years I replaced the plastic intakes on many engines due to backfire damage.
Hey guys I think I would have done the same thing with the boots that way and both of y'all Hearts he's always hanging around I wouldn't have the heart to throw them away with love the video and I'm waiting to see what's wrong with that GMC
I like when brother gets in the show I wish I had a brother like him Ike I been fighting my starter recently and your video helps. I wonder when Ike is gonna surprise brother with a car or what brother hot rod he got? Great show Ike thanks for posting.
Hey man was watchin your video and noticed that your havin some misfiring issue at start up. Make sure on that driver side where you put all the coils and stuff back on and stuff that you have the coil harness running to the correct cylinders because they can be ran backwards! Happened to me on my 5.3 hope this helps!
Oooh I love it! I e been looking for one of these! If you need any help with the gauge cluster or PCM, just let me know! I’ve been watching you and the guys for years and I’d love to help out!
i would get injectors also with the intake could of had one suck open and thats what happen to it. that could also be why the o2 sensors are out . the cat being stopped up could of made it run hot on one cylinder . just throwing some things out there to look at. cant wait to see what you have planed . great video ike ..rip for pops
Brother man treat yourself to an early Christmas present and get a car lift. Sell an old car or two if you have to. You have so many vehicles that it absolutely makes sense😁. It would save you so much time and energy. I think you are right the engine is probably OK and just needs a new intake.
so sorry about your dad issac , i lost mine 4 months ago today , i wish i had of spent more time with him before he passed, it was a shock to us and am still struggling with it today, we are only here for a short time so please value the time you have with the ones you love.
The plastic intakes are garbage from the factory. I replaced complete Intakes Throttle bodies Air flow sensors And more on those GMC's All the time The trucks are decent but all the plastic crap... Lol Good video Thank you for sharing
Excellent Video Issac :) also glad brother Jason help out on this vechile too and would check Junkyard or Wrecking Yard for that intake part or low miles 5.3 Vortec motor just in case need replacement this old motor plus wire harness for motor too! Also like no whats going this motor too because that high Rev and rumbling sounds not common on this motor only on cold start then smooth out low idle !
The quality of editing on your videos on this channel are nothing like when your on C&C .. I like the continent and I love your eclectic car collection so I’ll keep watching anyways . To cool for school I reckon .. You should try hooking up a obd scanner to see what that tells you .. ok that’s helpful .. might as well shop for a SS intake while your as it to increase the HP ? So I’m told .. I’ll definitely tune in for the next episode of what the GMC ..
Your Dad would appreciate what you did with his old boots. If I was working on it I'd replace the missing oxygen sensors and the intake , try to find out if they make a metal intake for it .😂😂
My 2005 Envoy XL Denali dropped a DOD lifter and wiped the cam. Also had multiple issues with oil pressure sending unit. I believe cylinders 1 and 7 were most prone to lifters collapsing.
Hey Issac, Mechanic UA-camrs like you, ChrisFix,Papadakis racing, hoonigan, etc have inspired me to put on my first car part for my vehicle! It was a starter motor ⚙️🔋
Keep up the hard work man. Your one of my favorites. Always wondered about the c3 corvettes you had back in the early days. Should be about long enough to do a will it run 😅
I may be wrong here but being that is a 2006, it should be gen4 ls. The cam/lifters may be wiped from DOD failure which would explain why there was an intake backfire
16:30 I’m with Jason, expecting a knock (if it even starts). But then again, the 4.8 in our ‘06 GMC knocked pretty-much all the time, but it ran just fine regardless. The LS is a fine beast. Okay, I’ve made my prognostication; pressing Play again… ▶️
Your Dad must have been a great guy to have raised two boys that became kind, humble & hard working human beings.
As someone who lost his father few years back and no brothers, I totally appreciate Isaac's comradery with his siblings and his love for his father. Sorry for your lost, greetings from Venezuela.
Hey Isaac, cherish the memories you had with your dad❤ great video. I hope the intake is the fix. Cheers buddy.
That silent walk up the ladder to hang the boots got to me a little. Such a somber moment. Sounds like y'all had a great dad. My condolences.
Lost my dad on 11 Oct 2021. My heart goes out to you and your family. He was a key to a large family that no one realized until he was gone. He was the baby of 8 kids. I lost my mother in 2020 Oct 16 th11th was her birthday sorry for your loss
Death leaves a heartache nobody can heal, but love leaves a memory nobody can steal...

Your dad will live forever in your hearts.
The best to you and yours.
Thanks Ike. Love the content on here and cars and cameras. You are certainly living the dream. Cheers Matt.
Thanks for sharing that moment between you and your bro about your Dad and his boots.
There was a blip of Vice Grip Garage intro during the starter replacement. Dig it!
I am definitely looking forward to your next video seeing what you have planned for this vehicle.
I like the idea of hanging your dads boots as a way of paying respect to your dad
Love the content. And you and your brother look, sound, act so much alike. Love it
Such an inception seeing you and your brother together. Keep being you, Isaac.
I made a cheap smoke machine. A little 10 dollar hand vacuum pump from Walmart and cheap cigars. I’ve used it many times. It works fine
Keep dads boots for sure! Selling it or throwing them away should never have been an option. Keep them in his honor. That's a family relic!
Love to see your bro, what a team.
Looks like this was once owned by Cleetus McFarline and had James Taal the duke of nitrous standing near it. Really enjoyed going through this with ya'll.

Great Vid Ike!! Be safe and drive careless!! 😜 👊👊✌️💚🤙
Sorry for your lost brother! Regards from Argentina.

The firing order can’t be wrong. The wires go straight from the plug to the coil above..
I was the engine mechanic in a wrecking yard at my last job for 32 years before I retired. Over the years I replaced the plastic intakes on many engines due to backfire damage.

Great video as always can't wait to see what you do with the GMC very interesting lol.nice touch with your old man's boots very cool 👍👍
Nice tribute. Interested in your plans with this GMC, lol! Thanx !
Sorry for your loss. 😢😮 Things get better over time. ❤❤❤❤❤❤I lost Marshall last September.
Yesssss I love the envoys! Very reliable. Well…the 4.2s are. I have 2

Great video and a fantastic gesture to remember your dad. I cant wait to see what you have in store for this rig. Take care or yourself.
Oooh I love it! I e been looking for one of these! If you need any help with the gauge cluster or PCM, just let me know! I’ve been watching you and the guys for years and I’d love to help out!
If the world had more Isaacs and Jason we would be in bliss.
Most of the time with Chevy's the coolant that they use eats the plastic intake away and causes failure so your probably right
I'm curious zac. Can't wait. ✌️👍🇬🇧
Im a vet myself and its great what you guys did with your dads old boots.
i would get injectors also with the intake could of had one suck open and thats what happen to it. that could also be why the o2 sensors are out . the cat being stopped up could of made it run hot on one cylinder . just throwing some things out there to look at. cant wait to see what you have planed . great video ike ..rip for pops

I see where isaac and his brother get the good looks from lol but in all honesty thank you for your service
The placement of the boots is awesome! Much love to you and your family!
Hey, spray some starting fluid in the intake, if it runs then you have ignition. If not then you know where to look.
The new selection of music makes the video a lot more amusing
so sorry about your dad issac , i lost mine 4 months ago today , i wish i had of spent more time with him before he passed, it was a shock to us and am still struggling with it today, we are only here for a short time so please value the time you have with the ones you love.
Sorry for your loss
Dont those plastic intakes break when they backfire through the intake? I think Whipple makes a nice intake for those.
❤ Love your videos awesome content
I had a plastic manifold let go on my '01 Mercury Grand Marquis. Blown head gaskets, coolant made it's way to the oil.
interesting, sad to hear about dad, atleast you got each other and the lessons dad taught you.
With Isaac and Jason on this it'll be fine! Especially with Dad's boot hanging over them.
I don't think you're insane part of the fun is finding out the mysteries of the car 🚙 😁
New sub from India and I too lost my dad 1 year ago and I love to work on cars and bikes. Cheerio bud.
The plastic intakes are garbage from the factory.
I replaced complete Intakes
Throttle bodies
Air flow sensors
And more on those GMC's
All the time
The trucks are decent but all the plastic crap... Lol
Good video
Thank you for sharing

🎉 thanks for the video bro 🎉...JJ... Jonjon...
Close your eyes and I swear your talkin to yourself, Your brother is your doppleganger! Uncanny!😆

The body is really straight and it’s pretty clean!
HA! Loved the Vice Grip intro just popping for an audio cameo
Your Dad would appreciate what you did with his old boots.
If I was working on it I'd replace the missing oxygen sensors and the intake , try to find out if they make a metal intake for it .😂😂
Waiting for the next video, the intake is a problem and hoping another one fixes it. Like the memorial to your dad.
My 2005 Envoy XL Denali dropped a DOD lifter and wiped the cam. Also had multiple issues with oil pressure sending unit. I believe cylinders 1 and 7 were most prone to lifters collapsing.
You both look and sound the same I love the videos with you and your brother
Hi Ike! Congrats on the new project. Great to see 3 gentlemen wrenching in your father's honor. Be well,
Gan
Slap a intake a 4 barrel efi. Or carb.
Hey Issac, Mechanic UA-camrs like you, ChrisFix,Papadakis racing, hoonigan, etc have inspired me to put on my first car part for my vehicle! It was a starter motor ⚙️🔋
That is awesome!
IKE! You should have your brother start of your "Isaac it'll be fine" videos. As you. Like an April Fool's joke.
As soon as you mentioned something special under the hood I knew it was a v8. These were pretty cool.
❤ Happy Father's Day Pop ❤...JJ..
Envoys are great I've got a ,2005 with a vortex inline 6 that still runs and drives excellent don't burn or leak oil all original with 250 k on it
Coolant could be getting into the oil, hopefully not a blown head gasket.
what im thinking
Gonna give it the "Leroy" treatment?? I hope so. Nice vid, brothers are the best.
Love the fiddle music while your fiddling with it
Friday!!! Best day of the week!! Have a good weekend Ike!!
You too!!
Got a little choked up about the boots, still have my dad's hard hat and his last motorcycle license plate in my garage.
Keep up the hard work man. Your one of my favorites. Always wondered about the c3 corvettes you had back in the early days. Should be about long enough to do a will it run 😅
Thumbs up on the boots walking in!!!
Super cool 😎. I like it
spray starting around the plenum and hoses you get a good idea
Ahhhh Man i can't wait for the next episode! what a cliff hanger
I had a yukon denali once, nice ride
Absolutely can tell you whats wrong.
It's broken and needs repaired ;)
Now i know why you play the happy fathers day video. Im sure your dad is very proud.
12:38 Sounds to me like the Bendix isn’t kicking out and engaging the fly wheel
I may be wrong here but being that is a 2006, it should be gen4 ls. The cam/lifters may be wiped from DOD failure which would explain why there was an intake backfire
Issac I would never call you insane, now CRAZY maybe. Crazy like a fox
Bill in Fort Wayne Indiana
shop clean video would be good. LOL!!
for future reference on that starter if you take the trans cooler lines off their mounts you can pull the starter out the front and back in that way
4wd was in the way
@isaacitllbefine7231 ah I didn't think about that mine is only 2wd lol
I have an intake from a 6.0 with cathederal heads with IAC, throttle body and a TB spacer, fuel rails and injectors. Drive by wire though.
Your brother killed me with that check engine light joke.
Sounds like an intake valve stuck open, or opening at the wrong time, good luck. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Could be
16:30 I’m with Jason, expecting a knock (if it even starts). But then again, the 4.8 in our ‘06 GMC knocked pretty-much all the time, but it ran just fine regardless. The LS is a fine beast.
Okay, I’ve made my prognostication; pressing Play again… ▶️
The EGR can melt the intake, the throttle body goes bad also.
All aluminum 5.3 LM4. I had one out of a Buick Rainier.
I'm ready for part 2 already
