This is how to install a Porsche Brand roof rack onto a 2007 Porsche Cayman (987). If you have questions or suggestions for more Cayman videos please comment!
When you first remove the racks from the package it helps to install the rubber straps first. Installing them from front to aft works better then starting at one end (drivers or passengers door) and stretching the strap across the rack AFTER you install the racks on the car.
How do Yakima rack attachments work with this rack as Yakima bars are round and these are oval? Nice job describing and demonstrating the installation. Looks like a great system if I can attach my Yakima bike, canoe and ski racks to these bars.
@ CaymanGarage thx for all your videos about Cayman. I own a 2008 cayman. It always has shorter neutral sliding distance compared to 2004 altima. The speed is always decreased significantly and quickly when I change the great drive to neutral. Do you have the same experience? Or is there anything wrong with my cayman?

How is 987 perform in the snow? I am now wonder which one i should buy, 997C4 or 987. I like them both. 987 definitely will save me lots of money, but if 987 is not drivable in the snow, then it is not a nice bargain.
+Fante Meng It doesn't handle very well in snow. I have performance tires on it (dont know brand off the top of my head) and I got stuck in an inch of snow the other day. I assume that if I had winter tires it would do better.
+Fante Meng With performance tires the car is absolutely awful in the snow. That being said I have winter tires and it's one of the best snow car's i've ever driven. Even better than AWD/4WD with 'all weather tires'. Never came close to getting stuck in ice or snow anywhere. Keep in mind though the car is only a few inches off the ground, so while the car could move in 6+ inches of snow with snow tires fairly easily, you'll be plowing the snow on your way through.
+BubbyDurCat exactly! I finally bought a 981 2013 Boxster, when I put the 19inch Michelin winter tires on, it perform perfectly in the snow!!! You can enjoy Porsche all year round!
noticed you installed the rack on a 987, are the new 981s (2014-2016) Caymans able to be outfitted with a roof rack? I didn't see the same slits in the roof as in your 987 model.
+Sharif Hasan I planned on making a short video about that soon but the expenses are about... insurance $120 per month (I bought it when i was 23), Oil change done myself $60, Storage $110 per month (i dont have a garage), Tires about $650 for a set or rears, $600 for fronts, and I broke a pulley and had to replace it, that was $1500 and 2 days without the car :( haha

Hi...does the Cayman roof racks fit the 2007 911 Carrerra S roof as well.....looks more or less the same ....both are coupe

Mine didn’t even move an inch in the snow. I have performance tires BTW.
Are the foam pads necessary? If they aren't there would the block sit on the paint?

+CaymanGarage The oil filter + the casing is already $45 from Suncoast. Plus 8 qts of synthetics say at $5 each.
