It is really sad to see how people discriminate against black people and use it as excuse by saying it is what they see on tv or social media. But when they see the same thing about white people it doesn’t change they view of them.

As a brown person, I'm quite heartbroken over how a lot of people treat black people just because of their race. They could have so much to give and people don't find it good enough because of their skin colour? Man if black people set out to get revenge they would have enough heartbreak inside them to set the world on fire.
What if they set out to get revenge?? The black dude straight up said he doesn't date anyone but black, no what if needed. Everybody knows about black people doing it too. It's the same thing and who really cares? Let people fucking date who they want. And when you are going to a different country maybe don't have the expectation that people there just have been waiting for foreigners with a different culture to come around so that they can date them. You are never going to be happy if you think you are entitled to being loved by strangers. The tall girl prefers tall people, maybe korean guys prefer korean people too..? Like she said you need to keep your self respect and not define yourself by what others think. And you should also not define who you date by what others think. Look for someone that wants you. If they don't want you, you are not going to negotiate a relationship.
The French girl has such a wise and lovely outlook on the world even though she faces difficulty, what a sweet person! And I was amazed to see a fellow Alabama person in this video! I loved living in South Korea while I was stationed there. Outside of the dating culture the people are mostly warm and welcoming especially in more rural parts. As you get closer to the city, you’ll definitely notice a shift in how you’re received. Most times it didn’t bother me and my daughter noticed it as well but that’s where we educate and teach self love 💯. I’d go back in a heartbeat but not to date. Note that All of the black women had a different experience than the black men. You’ve gotta be completely secure in yourself in order to experience a different culture because they Will stare but out of curiosity more than anything. We’re breaking stereotypes. Well said by Moon ❤
Yes and go over there for something more in-depthful than all this dating. A lot of the people there know that's what so many westerner's go over there for so they have a mindset already unfortunate for us anyway. But if you go over there differently and just "let things" happen if it does then it can turn out well. All that meeting on them apps are problematic too.
Yea, all the black women had a hard time. The Korean women just go get what they want I guess 😂. When our culture glorifies black women like Cardi B, Megan Stallion and Lizzo, I can see why Korean men would be afraid.

Ignorant comments like this used to annoy me. But at this point, I laugh at it and stay away from people like that. My first ignorant experience was with a kid in Thailand who asked me why I don't shower? Insinuating if I did shower I wouldn't be black. What's even funnier, is that I told a buddy of mine and he wasn't surprised at all. Because some girl told him he needs to stop showering with hot water. 😂 We can't fix stupid. But we can avoid it like the plague though.
I want to visit South Korea one day because it's such a beautiful place, this dating stuff doesn't bother me at all because I prefer being single and I live in a country where I get judged for choosing to be single so SK doesn't sound too bad lol. I do feel bad for people who are interested in having relationships with Koreans but I think its a bit weird to go to a country for the sole purpose of being in a relationship with the people from that country. Things like that have to happen naturally otherwise you'll be heartbroken or end up being partnered up with the wrong person for the wrong reasons.
Can we date beautiful ❤️💖❤️. U being single is a choice and I respect that. After hearing many stories negative stories of people who are in a relationship will make u wanna stay single... But there's another side of it. That comes when you meet the right person. From your comment I see that u are a nice person. Can we be friends.
I wish every one who is enamoured with the Hulu Wave and are going crazy about the KPop, KDrama, KFood, etc., should watch your videos before going to Korea. It's a real eye opener. Everything boils down to how we are as a person, and how we adapt to rejection or acceptance. Listen to the wise words of, Moon, she said something amazing -dont loose your self esteem, try to understand what you need and what you want. Just be yourself and Love yourself. There no better words then these spoken by anyone. Too many stereotypes, beliefs, closed mentality exists in Korea. So go there with an open mind and a strong will.
I hate to say it but Koreans are just not interested in us black people. One, their close minded and two, they're just not into our skin tone. It's rough out here..
It don’t matter where I go,I’m going to still date my PEOPLE. I love myself and black people too damn much, to be worried about being accepted by another race.
I travel for fun and I noticed a lot of my folk thought it meant I was searching for a foreign partner. And I'm like "they cool but I'm just there to experience the culture". My love and affection for us is my foundation for what makes me comfortable experiencing things unfamiliar to me.
All I have to say…it’s not a Kdrama, if you’re going to Korea to find yourself a Korean girlfriend or boyfriend then just stop because ITS HARD. Not everyone there is open minded to a interracial relationship, they mostly see black people as “easy” or just “fun” and most of the time they just know their family won’t accept it.
Especially "Fun" Black men are viewed as Endowed men down there while it's not all of them are like that. But comparing to Koreans, I think They got a Chance to stand out, so many girls there will not take you seriously, maybe just for hookup, or no String attached thing, So if you try to put feelings on it, Bro, you will get a heart break in a second week like the guy in the video 😂
I don't think they were searching for relevancy. That is their place of residence and they are sharing their experiences. Most of them didn't care if you noticed.

They can move into our areas with ease, but we are not allowed to move into their area. I was in middle school/high school in the French school (LFS) so I wasn't really dating at the time. But for sure, I could tell there's this ideal for them, especially the women, to rather date a white man than a Black man. I dance with many Koreans girls, hook up with one of them whom I’m still friends with now days, drink with a bunch of random Korean dudes that like my vibe. I had a blast honestly. Play to your strength, I went to places where they played some salsa and reggaeton and you could dance in the floor, I didn’t bother with places where foreigners were not allowed, and so what? since I know how to salsa many Koreans loved me in those places. Again I went to those places because I wanted to salsa dance with Koreans, for my own pleasure, I wanted to experience it, NOT “THE OTHER WAY AROUND”, and let me tell you, Koreans mamacitas know how to salsa my friend. its sad because historically some of the first interactions koreans had with black people was in war time when black american soldiers lived and existed in segregated units but fought side by side with white soldiers. and even if they werent segregated, they were always commanded/head by white officers. i always wondered if that shaped their view on black people in that all of the stereotypes and racist sentiments became filtered through a white american lens. of course colorism plays into it as well. but what should be mentioned is how strong american exceptionalism is as a belief in korea. that american exceptionalism ties in with american race relations. even if western ideals in general are prominent there, the influence of the u.s specifically has a very significant history.
I remember yeeeears ago, this Korean guy was telling me about how he liked black people because of his interaction during the Korean war. He said the Koreans and black people were segregated together away from the whites.

One thing that one of the people here said is true most places in the world, except America. People in other countries are more focused on relationships more than dating. After three dates, the expectations are that you commit to being in a relationship. They’re in it for a long time… not just a good time.

It is really sad to see how people discriminate against black people and use it as excuse by saying it is what they see on tv or social media. But when they see the same thing about white people it doesn’t change they view of them.

Because white people are known to be coming from wealthy developed nations. Asians respect wealth and prestige more than anything.
As a brown person, I'm quite heartbroken over how a lot of people treat black people just because of their race. They could have so much to give and people don't find it good enough because of their skin colour? I want to visit South Korea one day because it's such a beautiful place, this dating stuff doesn't bother me at all because I prefer being single and I live in a country where I get judged for choosing to be single so SK doesn't sound too bad lol. I do feel bad for people who are interested in having relationships with Koreans but I think its a bit weird to go to a country for the sole purpose of being in a relationship with the people from that country. Things like that have to happen naturally otherwise you'll be heartbroken or end up being partnered up with the wrong person for the wrong reasons.

Wow, great video! The audio is perfect, the images are beautiful. The interviewees were great too in their answers. I lived in Seoul with my family for about 6 years. I was in middle school/high school in the French school (LFS) so I wasn't really dating at the time. But for sure, I could tell there's this ideal for them, especially the women, to rather date a white man than a Black man. Which is fine if it's your preference, but most of the time it's deeper than that and it's rooted in ignorance, stereotypes etc like the interviewees had said. Great video!

I focused on having fun myself and didn’t care about all that racist stuff. And just like that I had Koreans trying to speak English and been polite to me. I had a wonderful time. Takeaway? just have confidence and have fun. Don’t go there criticizing, just know that some people are fucked up but so are we all lol, right? Koreans are mostly dating each other. Its funny, this area is very diverse but we live in pockets. If Koreans live in a town with a lot of Koreans, its quite possible they do not interact with black people often. They are still hanging out with mostly other Asian people (All of Asia) and whites. They don't relate to black culture unless they have business that serve in Black areas (hair supply or nail salons come to mind). its sad because historically some of the first interactions koreans had with black people was in war time when black american soldiers lived and existed in segregated units but fought side by side with white soldiers. and even if they werent segregated, they were always commanded/head by white officers. i always wondered if that shaped their view on black people in that all of the stereotypes and racist sentiments became filtered through a white american lens. of course colorism plays into it as well. but what should be mentioned is how strong american exceptionalism is as a belief in korea. that american exceptionalism ties in with american race relations. even if western ideals in general are prominent there, the influence of the u.s specifically has a very significant history.

It's ironic that for such a relationship-obsessed culture, they have the lowest birth rate on the planet (maybe in all of history), a population that's already shrinking, and a growing national panic over 'demographic collapse'.

@@sew_gal7340 Same. Even with tje difficulties I liked Korea more.
I mean tbh if you really think about, fetishitization of other races happens in other places to, for example in the US Latinas are fetishized a lot. Many people would love to hook with them but wouldn't get into a ling term relationship w them. We must not be so critical of other cultures and think that our own is better, bc no culture is right or wrong or better than the other
🤡🤡🤡🤡
I don’t this is about better… they asked them what is their experience…. And being fetishized is one of the actions occurring
The French girl is gorgeous and has a wonderful personality. I doubt she has any problems meeting people just based off of that fact.
Hey i just wanted to thank and salute you for the work that you do and the great, insightful content you create on your channel. I have been able to learn and gain much insight through your videos and feel like your open mind as well as your objective and unbiased style of asking them leaves so much space for people to reflect and express their thoughts and experiences. Very, very dope! Keep up the good work bro!
Honestly, I will watch any video featuring Moon🥰✨️ She's so lovely and talented
The women and the guy with locs are the only ones that spoke with substance and elaborated very well.
Not being able to speak a native language before living in a foreign country is a huge oversight. Maybe that’s a main contributor why the dating scene isn’t working as well in their favor.
Yes, it is.
Once I settled into Korea, my clothing changed and it was pretty obvious to Koreans that I had been there a while. I could get by speaking Korean for my basic daily needs and met several Korean guys who were open to being boyfriend/girlfriend. That was certainly NOT the case when I first arrived and didn't know what questions to ask to determine someone's relationship status or understand the normalcy/necessity of asking if someone is single and what type of woman they like EARLY on.
BTW I really like how gentle man the Interviewer is. I just watch the video to see his mimics and gestures!
4:09 the girl is a french Tiktoker, her name is Moon if you wanna find her
Do you know her @ name?
I searched Moon & that didn't work unfortunately lol

What moon said about why he wouldn't date guys shorter than her is soo true, i felt that. Especially as a tall black woman.
SailorJupiter.... Poor girl was so sweet but all the boys were afraid of her height.
What ever country your in ,there always be people to date. There's individuals That does not go by What the media portrays or society. But they go by who they connect with and have similar interest.
And it's funny how we never talk about racist blacks, like that's just the unpopular opinion we never talk about...as a Kpop stan,I realised just how some black people hate Asians and don't view them as people.
We all should just love each other as a human race.
@@kenia3645 black people probably talk sh*t about Asians because in many experiences they love our music (k pop being an example) our style, artistry.. yet treat us like actual sub humans. It's an impossible stat to figure out but im pretty sure the racism is more extreme on the Asian end, fr. Media is a big part to blame but 🤷🏾♂️
@@hez859 and that's something we'll never voice out...God made us different so that we can enjoy life even more not the hatred that we have against each other and it's so annoying..And I'll stand here and loudly say that I'm black and I love Asians,Asian culture Kpop, everything Asian I love it💜 Let's love each other.
@@kenia3645 As the other user said, you would be considered as a subhuman if you lived in Korea. Most black people aren't racist towards Asians at all.
@@shim2955 That depends on where the person had been raised thou because I had to go a long way to finally be able to listen to Kpop without being questioned...And they think all Asians are Chinese so they be like "why do you listen to these ching-chong songs?" That's disgusting.🤮
8:14 bruh his voice is so soothing
I think it’s naive to enter a country that is 95% (anything )and expect to ‘become family” quickly especially when you don’t speak their language. Cuz for them culture is everything . Being of another culture and wanting something more than just a hookup then you have to show that you fit into their culture especially when they’ve seen those cultures via social media and they clash with their own values and cultural norms. Korea Mansae! Hope to visit sometime 🕶& be the new black girl in town 😂
I love how they all loved themselves and knew who they were as individual's
Lmao😭
Fact of life. Always live in integrity. Never take anyone for granted. Have a mission. When you have a clear goal to be the best at a Trade or Career that is sexy. When you take care of yourself through exercise, good food, drink lots of water and hot tea that is sexy. When you are generous, set healthy boundaries, and have a good sense of humor that is sexy. When you know God without dogma you are unstoppable. You can have a big heart and don’t take crap from anyone being diplomatic always using your words that is power. The world is you’re oyster 🦪 when you stand in you’re power and have a clear goal what you would like to do with you’re life.
It's such a wonderful feeling, not giving a DAMN what other people/ethnicities think of you! It's a very liberating thing! Wish our brothers and sisters would try it more! Black culture is world culture..black folk need to recognize they are the ish when so many different cultures all over the world emulate dang near everything black folk do! Even if they don't like the color of your skin, and love to assume you're every stereotype they've been spoonfed by their foreign preference, just love on yourself and try your best to lose the rest! I've been blessed to learn to love people through/in spite of their ignorance/lack of knowledge! As long as the Lord love me, I'm BEYOND good!😊❤
Again, a great interview! And your black sunglasses and leather jacket!?! So sick 😎👍👍
your making me laugh, the way you was trying to keep your composure lool
The first girl nailed everything 😊
It's the same in years US ppl like the thrill of being w a black person the sex etc but they haven't begun to understand what we go through so it's rare that you'll get someone that's going to go so far out of their way to get it to be supportive.
victim card again, black is treated better than asian in US 100 time, only us has right to cry victim there not you
we need to educate our people to be cordial and respectful towards other peoples, without being subservient. It's not because we are welcome in a place that we have to want to make babies with the people of that place. We are a beautiful people with a rich culture. Let's love each other and create our thing.
🎉🎉
5:09 the problem is that you look stronger than them. You deserve a clever and strong boyfriend. Strong inside, not insecure about his virility.
very strange, I'm 1 year old in Korea, and myself come from Southeast Asia and my friend is a black woman, discrimination often occurs, I personally can't speak Korean very well, they often say we can't speak English to reject foreigners, even though now it's there is a translation tool to communicate, but it's strange that my white friend treats her well, she's very easy to join the club, and it's easy to find a partner in Korea, even though she can't speak Korean, many Korean men come to her.
Moon is so beautiful 😍
Excellent video, i appreciate the interviewing technique and the honesty of the responses. It ishelpful to have this knowledge, even if you never plan to travel to Korea.
The girl at 0:20 is on Tiktok! I follow her account. That's why I clicked because I was like, "is that?!"

Love that the guy from Bama said he's pro black 🖤
It would seem that Korean women are more open to dating black men whereas Korean men are less inclined to date black women. That’s what I noticed
I LOVE THIS INTERVIEWER!!!! ONE OF FEW I SEE THAT DONT TRY TO INTERRUPT WHAT PPL IS SAYING FOR THE LOVE OF GOOODD
