Our team is often asked if a DNA test can be used to prove a person’s right to European citizenship. In this webinar, we will look through the lens of a microscope to examine the question, ‘can your DNA results be used to get German, Polish, Czech or other European citizenships?’

I have gone pretty deep into looking for my grandmother's birth certificate, but not matter how much evidence I have located, your company has not found anything helpful, I have some doubts that they looked in one of the two potential spots for her public records, I have the evidence from Ancestry that my grandmother was german/czech. She left Germany in 1948 with my two-year-old father. WHat more can I find to show that I am the granddaughter of a german/czech?

I’m still not understanding; so can you or cannot use DNA to prove citizenship in Czech Republic? I find it hard to follow this webinar bec it’s filled w/a lot of other information that doesn’t pertain to me. My great & recently deceased grandparents immigrated from Czech to USA. I definitely have Czech blood, 50%. So can I or can I not qualify with a blood test for DNA?

Hi, and thanks for your question! DNA tests are not considered when applying for Czech citizenship, although they are a great start to tracing your family lineage, which can assist you with filling out your family tree!
