Artificially generated Pops and bangs might be nice for a while, but they get irritating really quick.

One of the Classic M cars. No turbo, no AWD, 3 Litre straight six and still a 0-100 in 5.2 seconds. They don’t make cars like this no more.
The csl need 4,6 - 4.9 sec at 3.2L and 360HP

A mate bought a non-CSL E46 M3 with the SMG, and I said it was a troublesome gearbox. 3 weeks later he was facing a 3.5k bill.

Every time i read Audi i have to think about heavy understeer. Cant fix this
@@marcelk3847 the new RS3 is a good attempt at fixing understeer, you gotta admit that.
Though in classic Audi fashion they went for the cheaper route of after-fixing it with electronics instead of having proper chassis design or at least an AWD system which can actually send more than 50% torque to the rear. This Haldex quattro is good for traction but that's just about it.
I really like Audis but their leadership is pigheaded to say the least.
I remember seeing this in the showroom some 20 years ago while I was getting my first BMW, a brand new 320d :) This one though... looked like the stuff of dreams. And it was priced accordingly! Still looks and sounds great today 👌
What was the price back then?
You can build up an E46 M3 and get pretty close to the same performance - pistons, Cams, carbon airbox, E85 dyno tune.
It was double the price of a 320D, but still worth calling the banker for a loan Now this 20D is probably worth 15% of its price and the CSL kept 85% of its value . The usual case of "if only I knew"

When BMW-M announced, that they will return to 6 cylinders after the E9x era, I expected this sound.
Boy oh boy, I was disappointed by the new sound.
The great choise to record the sound FROM THE INTERIOR, not just above exhaust pipes. And just like classic movies - no talking, just engine noise ❤️

Yeah… I def won’t recommend an e46 m3 CSL as a first car. But hey, if you have the money and your mind set for it, good for you !
Not to be a teacher, but for your first car you better get an SUV or maybe some awd sedan / estate. Just saying.
@@Ride-Drive I don't think so. I wouldn't do an SUV as a first. SUVs are huge. Inexperienced drivers shouldn't drive anything heavy. Greater damage to other drivers. A safe non-sportscar is best.
Insurance on that as a 1st car let's be real
@@DQ333 I got SUV (3rd gen Tahoe) as a first car and was ok. And got my license at 18 with B C (lightweight + heavy trucks). So it depends

Hmm, no. I love my E46 but it has absolutely no shot at keeping up with an equally FBO’ed E92 clocking 9.x 100-200.
@@divimport2 AutoTopNL did 100-200 with E92 M3 in 10s flat. So about 1s quicker than M3CSL.
@@ErikT595 that’s a stock car, a tuned S65 is into the 9s. A tuned S85 is low 8s - to give you perspective. I own all 3x, let’s not make the S54 something it isn’t.
