- Follow Michael on his journey to the ultimate motorsport event in this weekly UA-cam series. Road to Le Mans tells the story about Michael Fassbender and his dream to race against the best teams and drivers of the world at the 24h of Le Mans.
Next episode coming October 25th.
Dear Porsche
We need episodes released everyday and 25 mins long.
- *everybody*
Too much effort but I want it as well!
Not everyday. Quality would go to shit + the races aren’t everyday. But I agree that the episodes should be 25 mins
came to say this. Porsche , please give us more footage
Or they can make a full movie of it afterwards.
Word!
This should be a famous tv-series. Or even a movie itself. Amazing shots. Spectacular videography. The lack of music gives it a more realistic feel. Its just brillant!
Yes love the raw engine noise during onboard scenes, they really nailed it.
Fassbender really wears the hell out of that cap
Hiding the helmet hair
Peeky fookin’ blinders
Love watching this. Wish each episode was a full hour long.
I'm not a racing person or even a car person, but the way this is shot and done makes me very invested in Michael Fassbender's racing career. This is a fantastic series. I wouldn't mind if it were longer!
3:53 Holy shit. I've never been so terrified of Michael before. Oh to have been on the receiving end of that glare, I would've shat my pants. LMAO.
Great cinematography, racing, Porsche and Fassbender... this is amazing!
this needs to be a longer netflix series- and real series length. really entertaining- not just for motor fans- fassbender is likeable and humble and a great conduit for others to get into motorsports.
this is starting to become one of my favorite race series, next to launch control
One thing about racing. It is very humbling.
This was very enjoyable. Wish it had been longer or at least made for Netflix as a series. Excellent job!
Go Michael! We are praying for you!
4:48 When I saw that Martini car overshot the corner, I foresaw that guy gonna hit Michael in his right rear.
Tiantian Zhang I was thinking the same thing
Yup. Amateur mentality from the driver- way too overconfident and driving above his skill level
Yeah thats the kind of thing you learn while racing or sim racing. But Michael is vert rookie yet so he did saw it but didnt know how to avoid it.
Forza style
@@Normally_aspirated To be fair he had half a right to try. Fassbender should have took that line more aggressively and shut the door. That would have forced the Martini to break.
Another great episode. Cudos to the entire production team. Michael, my hat is off to you. Keep it up.
Song - Alexis Troy - Say Goodbye
thanks mate
OH MY GOSH THANKS
Shazam didn't work and I slowly became depressed xD
Thanks
Michael Fassbender is truly amazing
Super well produced and such a pleasure to watch it. The authenticity and the character of Fassbender is captivating, like in his movies... thumbs up!!! Thank you!
Wow This IS show how difficult race is!! Thanks for this well done documentary
Maximum respect Michael, I've recently had a driving experience in a McLaren GT3 car... it was one of the most intimidating things I've ever driven.
This needs to be longer!
His car can sustain more G force around the corner, because he can control metal
😉👌
I wish these were longer!
Stop making us wait so long between episodes!! This is sooo good
Again - very enjoyable to watch. Michael truly shares his emotions during this process 👍
well he's an actor
Thibaud Prevot either way, it’s enjoyable to watch because it seems real.
Flugplatz.....Wipperman.....
Schwedenkreuz....these places break both man and machine! You learn all your lessons here at THE Ring and Sarthe will be no problem!
Best of luck to you, Michael!! I love these videos you are putting out!
Flugplatz and Wipperman are both corners of the Nordschleife, they were only driving on the GP track which is quite boring and uneventful in comparison.
@@Dudeisthere Precisely why the recommendation for that portion of the circuit......
awesome little episodes. Wish they were longer!
Really cool series guys. I feel like you get more information or different information from someone that hasn't been racing all of his life.
This is how my career mode on Project Cars 2 is going. Great series! It’s fun watching somebody fallow my dreams.
The real work these drivers put in just to gain a second here or there... and then they strive to shave additional tenths off of what their best times are is what I find interesting. This shows me WHY every team member is so important to the successes... or failures at each event.
Awesome!
Next episode on 25th!
Supercars in Greece great
@@bro6046 😉
It is fantastic how your progress is being broadcast and how you share it from the seat of your pants. Thank you all for it and please keep them coming. Indeed my favorite videos to watch. I wish they were longer. I know you are an excellent driver but please do not think about crashing too much. The more you think about it the more you will crash or get crashed into. The Martini driver over drove his car twice in two consecutive turns. In the second one he collected you because you left him the door open but also you were not looking far ahead after he made his first mistake, you were looking back. Hit your next apex, shut the door and keep it shut within racing fairness and just drive forward and move on. You are great and your team is awesome. Please keep them coming. I agree this should be a famous TV series. Do it.
Another great episode. Please keep them coming!
Holy moly the video quality / editing / color grading etc on this is amazing! wowie - congrats to the porsche media team or whoever makes these. Amazing!
This is great. longer episodes please!!!!!
I am reporting Porsche for crimes against entertainment. These episodes MUST BE LONGER! Bravo
Great to watch. Cant wait for 25 October.
Way to go, Michael! Keep up the great work!
Live and learn is what life's all about. 10,000 hours is so very true. Would time spent in a driving or race car simulator help? Just a suggestion...
I really enjoy looking out for these episodes. Keep 'em coming!
Great series.
Whoever was driving the martini porsche is what we like to call "a muppet"
Michael had to close the door earlier. To late on that, while in the turn if he gave the space he has to let the guy through. Silly mistake, but he's learning.
Honestly, I was 100% sure that that would happen. If there is something you actually learn from playing with simulators, it is foreseeing accidents.
@@RTuga02 Easy to blame the amateur. He wasn't going that quickly and by the time he got hit from behind he was right at the apex - plenty of time to react for the other driver. Could've waited or forced an overtake on the outside to get a good exit instead of diving and compromising speed for the following straight. Other driver also already outbraked himself on the previous turn so who knows if that didn't happen here again.
@@JMartinni yeah, the other driver was also in the wrong, but you can't close the door while doing the turn, you just can't, if you let space open you have to let the other driver go. C'mon, even the race director is telling Michael that, "next time just close the door earlier"; anyone that races knows that you take your position before the turn, and you can't changed it while doing it.
@@JMartinni and about compromising speed...c'mon man, it's racing, who cares if he compromises speed for both, if he comes ahead he's done his job. It's not something for pussys, or for savages. It's somewhere along those lines. :)
Disappointed when the episodes end, means I have to wait a few weeks for a next good viewing experience!
Inspiring stuff.. I too am trying to become a race driver through a very unconventional route but you just gotta keep trying and learning. Loving this
Awesome series Porsche! looking forward to more!
Love these videos ,who ever thought of them, thanks a brilliant idea 💡
I keep forgetting how awesome and friggin loud these gt3 Poersches sound. love it
Now imagine this times 100 for how Romain Grosjean feels
FNS Photography Lmao Grosjean got used to it, it was a matter of when and who with that chap on the track
Thinking the same. We gotta respect everyone on track.
@@Eduartswag Grosjean has 10 podiums and you're judging him on 1 season because you watched Drive to Survive. Clown.
Caoimhín Ó Caoimh lmao Clown? It doesn’t matter if he has 10 podiums. When you crash behind the safety car going 10 mph. That says it all. You’re like the Maldonado of YT comment section prick😂
Bravo, Mr. Fassbender for showing that you fail then keep trying.
would like to see him do a lap of the Nordschleife, should do one half hour episode per month
Love the candidness. Yes, you could have been more aggressive into that turn, but that shit just happens in racing. Good times 👍
Excellent series
Superb series!
When you learn that you need to close the door after overtaking, but it's in Porsche. Maybe should've started in something slower and simpler, like Mazda MX5 series. Just to eliminate such rookie mistakes.
Porsche is truly an enthusiasts brand.
If you have the money of course
The whole brand essentially focuses around one car! Without 911 there is no Porsche!
George Quattrovalvole couldn’t Disagree more. About 20 years ago the brand was near financial ruin. The Boxster, then Cayman have given the brand new life in the form of a true mid engine sports car. The SUV lineup has allowed them to generate revenue and profits which were next to impossible 20 years ago, so that they can now invest more in their technology and racing .
The new Taycan is groundbreaking, and keeping them at the forefront of automotive development.
The new 911 RSR has very little in common with the old 911’s.
Your statement is waaay off.
@@carsandchronos You're the one thats way off mate. 911 is Porsche, its the brand face, racing research bed and billboard. The Boxer is the porsche for people who cant really afford one and the SUV is for trophy wifes. Say porsche and everybody thinks 911. The brand made its name and fame with racing, yes the prototypes but very much the GT's aswell. The other cars they make are brilliant cars but the 911 is the beating heart and the soul of the brand.
@@carsandchronos I agree with you but also I don't think I'm "wayyy" off! Porsche's core philosophy and basically how it started as an auto manufacturer is a car with rear engine incorporated for many decades in the shape and name of 911. Now if Porsche ever decides to drop the 911 from its lineup altogether would that be the death of the company that's up to a debate! All I'm saying is that car enthusiasts and porschephiles know the company and its history mainly from the 911. Porsche without 911 (if that ever happens) would still be Porsche by name but not as a brand identity!
Very cool Episodes.. Love it!
Great video love the insight
What an experience it must be prepping for such an event all the while backed by Porsche.
Would love to see longer episodes with laptimes and learning about raceline
What a brilliant series ..... Magneto was magnificent .... well becoming magnificent hehehehe
Good Luck Michael , I live in le Mans and I hope to see you
so used to watching michael's movies that whenever he's on camera i feel like he's acting
Great quality, but doesn't show progression, just race teasers. Would be nice to see his study and practice development, as well as more race footage if possible.
Porsche, this needs to be a Netflix series with one hour episodes or a mini documentary series with a couple multi hour episodes. Please!
Love this series
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!! I can use a lot more onboard footage though..... Just saying.....
Awesome videos keep it coming. List the songs though to save us time shazaming it. Alexis troy say goodbye. Great track.
This is excellent content. Well done Porsche
Another great episode but the duration is to short. It needs to be longer episodes please !!
I feel like the Porsche racing team are baby sitting this guy
Patrick Falk 100%. Obviously they want the advertising
Beetleything yes that is clearly what’s going on here but I wonder also how much they are fabricating here. I mean clearly they have better drivers 😭
Patrick Falk hes like the ultimate gentleman driver. He probably gives good money to the team. The publicity is just a bonus.
@@patrickfalk3743 A huge part of racing is somehow getting the money to be able to afford it. He is a famous and very successful actor so its safe to say he probably has that money, and because of his celebrity status its quite likely that the PR thing were seeing in those video here is part of the deal.
Like others said it’s great money and it’s seat time for him you expect a guys first two races ever also in a full on gt3 mid engine with 20 other fairly new guys it’s gonna be messy till he matures as a racing driver but if he is stubborn and keeps at it the pace will come
Come on! Almost there to the 10 minutes mark, make this videos longer!!
fantastic
i can't believe that guy tagged him, he had lost that corner and he knew it and just stayed in it
Does anyone know where I might be able to find out what they shot these amazing videos on? I absolutely love the look of it; the sharpness, bokeh and color are just stunning.
Oliver Hegarty thank you! I appreciate the response. I’ll definitely be looking into this camera further. They utilized it well (in my opinion of course).
Thanks again!
He's definitely getting Fasster on the Bends... keep improving Fastbender
Make these longer please.
More please
Nice series Porky
Fassbender is clearly taking this very seriously- his racing knowledge is very impressive.
F*king brilliant this is
Cmon Mike you can do it!!
Brilliant series, well done Porsche and of course, M.F.
Life becomes far easier if you don't try to fit in. It's up to you to decide how to do that
Michael, if you’re reading this... keep at it. That was your corner, just bad luck mate.
wish the video run time was longer.
I like the videos but we do not see enough of them beautiful Porsche cars.
He left a space but that martini umdersteer tp him. Just like leclerc to verstappn in japan.
Just one question, was Michael given simulator training or not? Because it really helps and speeds up the process of understanding the car and tracks without any major risk.
By the looks of it, he wasn't given sim experience. But still tho, as far as im concerned, Magneto is kicking ass!
It seems like not. When you have money real cars are by far more fun
The chicane: "Faster through there like 10-15?" 🤔 "No, 25" 🧐 "WAAW!!....😲Yeah...😵💫😰"
Michael did an opsie
Tooo short episode!
Can't believe he blew through 3 red flags. Unacceptable. I would have kicked him out of the race. 1st thing we teach on the track is where the corner workers are. 1 red flag, maybe, but three? He doesn't belong on the track. (but I love watching the journey! ;) )
Superb 🆒✔
They don't have board radio? Normally they would tell the driver immediately when red flagged, right?
Go Magneto!!!
@Porsche Can you please add a position counter to the racing scenes?
5:24 'No, steering is definitely fucked' 100% Irish right there
Anyone know the music they’re using in these series, like it the sound of it.
This Porsche Cup for rich people is basically like a multiplayer game lobby.
Why is there not even a hint of the sounds of those cars from the outside?
Can we please get an uninterrupted onboard lap?
Is this only specific 911 series (lets say, 991 only) or open to 996/7/1? Just curious about the format to be honest.
Do anyone know ??? What is the meaning of the number "3" (big one) in the monitor when Michael was crashed at 5:02 ??? Thank you.
shonosanoki 3rd Gear, watch again the numbers change when you hear engine noise alter, at the point of the crash it stuck in 3rd
@@johnd1466 thank you so much for your kindness. >/////
Can this be a little longer
