I feel like I can remember myself walking up those sidewalks in the first part of the video. Coure d' Alene is beautiful and I would love to go back someday
Spent a few years here as a child in the late 40's early 50's. It was a great place to grow up in. We had free run of the town and out areas, Tubs hill, etc. Didn't worry about creeps, our parents were allowed to TCB back then, Had an amusement pier which had swing ride where you swung out over the lake. Have family buried there. Now it's a good place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there. All the areas where we used to play are built up and to many tourists with the feeling of entitlement.
When I lived in Coeur d Alene there were no buildings around the lake none whatsoever not even a thought of the building we had the entire lake in the beach to ourselves as kids
My family is currently in Kenai Alaska, we are planning on moving to Coeur d'Alene! I've never been on a plane, so it'd going to be quite the experience for me. (I'm 12 btw) it looks beautiful!
Oh is that the boat that lights up on Christmas..wow its so beautiful I love the video for me is an insight to Idaho, very pretty and I love it. I am praying to God and see if I get the HGTV house in Coeur d'Alene. So, I keep looking surroundings and imagine how life will be. And I think that your video gives me an pretty good Idea. Its like been in CEDAR COVE and HGTV series of love. Anyway corny as it sounds I like to dream big and Coeur d'lane but I need Courney, and nature and nice and smart and beutiful and this place has it all. It feels like those movies that talk about the magic of Christmas. So, that is how I imagine it. I really want to move to Cour d'Alene.
I'am not Reba. I'am her dad using her phone to type my response. Kathy (my wife) and myself are receiving Soc Sec Dis because of medical reasons and I don't have the luxury of having my phone activated again. To Cameron Alexander: Out of curiosity I looked about Idaho just to see what it looks like and what the people do for a living. I came about your comments about Coeur d'Alene. I don't know how old you are but you said this town "
Reba's dad again here. That older post got sent accidentally. I must have done something wrong to that be sent. If anyone be interested seeing something of my state of Michigan. Look up videos of what is called the Inland Waterway in Upper Lower Pennisular that you can travel by boat from Lake Huron all the way into Crooked Lake. That's about 75 miles. There's fishing for Walleye, Bass, Perch, Northern Pike and others. Yeah, I would like to live up north in Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Alanson, or Indian River. But I'am just "stuck" living here in Wyoming, Michigan. Living month to month on this disability and never enough money for a vacation. Gary
Reba Woolard Gary, thats what we do here in Coeur d'Alene, too. I am often reminded of what a north Idaho 10 is? A man with a job!!! Most used pick up line? Nice tooth, dearie! The price of land in north Idaho has shot up so that the native here can't afford to own the family farm. While beautiful, and however inspiring, there are many homeless here in shelters, sleeping in cars and under bridges. It is so sad! Fishing is still good and water is still clear in the lakes and streams. Wildlife takes a hit each year because of wolves and tree huggers who protect them. We still have a few elk farms that protect the deer and moose from poachers. The natives think the wildlife here they own, and Californians are really just into the politics of having their freedoms taken away because they have no idea what freedom really is. The become realtors, bankers, police officers, preachers and government officials. Soon, we will be the new California. Our lakes, streams, backwoods and countrysides full of trash, regulated and polluted. Our water full of fluoride and our children full of mercury from unneeded vaccinations. Dumber than a stump and totally controllable. Today life is a struggle. Tomorrow, who knows? Right now I'm just grateful for food in my closet and the 1st of the month is coming soon. I have a roof over my head and I don't have to pretend I am fasting when in reality, I am broke and out of food and hungry.
I'm Mexican and my wife is black. We have 3 kids and we support Hilary. We are moving here is 2 months! Does anyone know how good their welfare benefits are?
Nice...but that water looks COLD ! S.Florida it's up to 82° in July...but the 90 degree weather for 7months gets REALLY OLD , with 90+ % humidity. ..ugh , brutal
I don't know how old you are but you said this town "is a dump". Either you are neive, or stupid to say that and think that as well. I was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Detroit and Livonia, Michigan. When I got out of the USAF I settled down in Grand Rapids, Michigan area and have been living here ever since. Again this town IS NO DUMP! Look up videos on UA-cam about abanded houses and buildings in Detroit. You'll see burned houses and some one after another. Trash, abandon cars, boats and whatever. I guess 85% of city is DUMP! Mile after mile it's like that. I seen things in the Philippines that are like a dump when I was I was stationed at Clark Air Base (destroyed years later by volcano dust eruption). Good God, Cameron, Coeur d'Alene is like not much below paradise level compared to what I have seen in my life. I may never get to visit Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, and rest of western states unless I win a lottery or something. But I can visit there on these videos. Gary
Hmm, I grew up here, moved to Seattle area for about 20 years, then moved back because I wanted the weather, lakes, forests, etc. Obviously this video is really for tourists since it only shows the places the tourists visit. Maybe a video should be done in the winter on a very cold day with blowing snow and snowplows clearing Sherman Ave. Oh wait, guess that wouldn't entice too many tourists.
I'm moving up here after I finish my accounting degree in two years. Anyone know how the job market is? I live in SLC now and am tired of the desert and many other things...
Don't move here... it's nice because you don't live here. It's getting worse because everyone wants to move here. The roads are full, no room for anyone else. No offense. I love visitors, but It's feeling less and less like the small town I grew up in, because it isn't... sad.
Yes! If I wanted to live with Mexican citizens, I'd move to Mexico. I've read that almost ONE QUARTER of the entire population of Mexico has moved to the USA. Most of them did it ILLEGALLY.
Probably. Depends on the hospitality. Are there compromises in your daily routine? How can you afford to live up there? Is it OK to stick strangers and still sing "America"? Are you money-laundering from south-of-the-border? Can you invoke "God" and have someone get in your real face?
Andre Newcomb "how can you afford to live there?" It is dirt fucking cheap lol. Maybe that's just because I live in CA. I own a 2 bed 2 bath 1k sq. Foot condo I bought for $489k lol. I could buy a mansion on the lake there haha. All perspective I guess.
TheeBlack Wolf Because he probably lives at a homeless shelter. Came here with big dreams and little cash, thinking he'll get a good paying job. LMAO Not in northern Idaho! L0L!
Some scary shit has happened to me in downtown Coeur D' Alene but I love it so much it's my home and I'm kinda upset all the Californians are moving here because at this point raw sewage is coming out of our pipes because of all the homes being built I hate Californians BUT I love Coeur D' Alene
What did they do to Coeur d'Alene, it has become a plastic town, tourist, and it isn't even pretty like it use to look. Who are all these people who go in and change these beautiful towns.
All the Californians are moving here and ruining it. 3000 people moved here last year. Garbage all over the place, horrible traffic, and people don't even say hi to each other. It's not cda anymore. Sad
do you guys live in a fantasy world? its located right off a major highway *right* next to a major national park... (you *do* know about glacier national park...right?) the fuck did you expect to happen? are you delusional? have you never heard of this thing called 'capitalism?' were you unaware that stuffy office workers like to go on vacations? are you really that dense? it was inevitable. if you didn't see this happening you really werent lookin
I know! Just urks me beyond! Watched them rip out my play land pier, watched them put that huge assed hotel up! It don't belong there! They have a lot of pretty little motels along Sherman. Was overjoyed when the front windows broke.... Was a time you could ride your bike every where. The only rule was that you had to be back home before the street lights came on.
What part of CA are you from? I moved up here 5 years ago, and yes there are things about CA that I miss, but I wouldn't go so far as to say CDA sucks.
