I've watched a few tutorials for little bags, as each Christmas I find I've forgotten the instructions from last year. Your tutorial was beautifully taught. Thank you.
Thank you. I’m gonna make some little ice packet bags to hold the ice packs at the hospital . I’m using the hospital gowns that have ripped and are called rejects . Sometimes the laundry sends them back with a knot that just won’t quit . I think it’ll be cute to make the Icepak bag cover to protect the patients skin. ❤
January 27 2024: This is going to be a fun project to share with my teen grandchildren that live with me. I figure while they are sitting helping we could have memoriable conversations. My Mom uses to do so many hand sewing and at her feet were us children. We just need to take a break from electronics and I do believe my two grandchildren that live with me will enjoy it. I will have them pick materials for bags for Advent and birthday’s. I have three grandchildren ages 20, 16 and ! I am a Retiree from the US Army and embracing my life right now. I returned from war and sewing to knitting was my special time with faith.
These are great! My husband is a wargamer and wanted a bag to put his dice in. I wasn't sure how to line a bag properly and this video was fab for showing how to do this - thanks! The bag my hubby wants is a lot bigger, but the process works the same!
I'm looking at this utorial for my boyfriend for dices as well! I hope it went well for you when making it. I don't have a sewing machine so I'm just going to do it all by hand I think :/
I have a friend who has a retirement party coming up and I'm going to make her a Retirement Survival Kit with different items in it. However, I couldn't think of what to put it all in and this is a perfect bag with a liner and a draw string to put all her little items in. Thank you so much. It will be so cute. Appreciate your video.
I want to say thank you. Made 3 different sizes just adding 5 inches to the width and 10.5 inches to the length and have come out quite well. Never made anything drawstring before and you explained it really well. Wanted to show a photo of what I'd done but not able to add it to the comments
OK, I've made a few bags in different sizes, using your instructions, which are the best I've seen for making fabric gift bags. I have several cut out and ready to sew, They are addictive to make.
Great video! I've watched several videos on how to make drawstring bags, and this one is the best. My sister asked me to make her bread bags, so I'll adapt for that. Thanks for the great content!
Well, they take me longer than 5 minutes to make but I absolutely love them!! And they’re cheaper than any gift bag you buy in the store!! I just keep making them!!
Best. Bag. Ever. I was searching through so many drawstring bag videos as I’m awful at them. Used this to make a bigger bag for a gift and it turned out better than any I’ve ever done. I added a squared off bottom so easily too after sewing the top stitch.
Aww Mom, Jax wants to play. Thanks for teaching me how,to make my new little bags, for my jewelry customers. I'll put the jewelry I make in them. Your fan Jenny.
I love that this is actually simple and approachable for someone who doesn’t sew all that much! I bought a lot of fabric years ago thinking that I would really get into sewing. Now I know what to do with it! 😂 Thanks for this great tutorial! 😊
Easy Peasy, much thanks. I’ve got eight cut out and ready to sew. It’s a great idea especially since we’re still in the pandemic and love to give little gifts.
These are so quick and easy to make, a great scrap buster, I will be making a few more (a lot more). Thank You for sharing Your Time, and Your Talent with all of us.
Thelma writes: Erica, not only that I love your videos tutorials but I also love the fact that you allow Jax to join in, I think he makes the video-ing even more complete, does everyone agree? He is as lovely as the whole 👪
Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous tutorial. It is just what I needed for my lavender sachets with a little embroidery on the front and a lavender ribbon. I love the way you do this!!!
Thanks for the great tutorial Erica! My husband had game tokens he needed a bag for. As soon as I came to YT to search, I hoped I’d find a tutorial from you - lucky me! Your instructions were straightforward and my bag turned out great. Definitely took me more than 5-10 min, but I’ve been away from my machine for many weeks, so I had to get back in the groove.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. I’ve made two already, one is a little bigger, and the dimensions for the drawstring were exactly the same and were perfect. This is so cute.
Great idea! I am going to do this for next year! We play a game with small gifts but the bags should all be the same! We won't have to buy bags every year! This will be so cool! My sister is going to love it! I have the fabric will just need lining fabric. Infact I have plenty of ribbon too! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ll probably just use a coordinating fabric for liner so I won’t have to buy anything. Just an idea. Hope that works for you too. Maybe a plaid or stripe. 🤔🤷♀️
Those are adorable. I wish i seen this earlier cuz I could of made theses for our grandson for preschool for Christmas for his classmates. Next year ty for sharing
Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve been using fabric to make bags for our Christmas gifts for years now, but they are big and not lined. These little cuties are perfect for a smaller gift. The finished size of my bags are 8x10”. Perfect for a jewelry gift. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was able to make little treasure bags for all my grands for Christmas 2022! I am trying to type up directions, so I'll remember what I did! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Great step by step tutorial. I made one before, but it took a lot longer without a tutorial. I like that your bag is fully lined. I think it will be a good idea to have several sizes to use as gift bags around Christmas time. I also generally give a pack of 10 handmade cards as gifts, so I’ve sized my bag to fit them. They are reusable packaging. Thanks!
Great, easy-to-follow instructions. These lined bags are beautiful and --- surprisingly---way easier to make than the unlined ones I've been sewing for years! Once I remembered some 8th grade math, it was easy to translate the exact proportions to larger sizes.
Jax is the star of your video! Yea for you kitty! I'm all thumbs, but Erica, you gave me the confidence to give it a try! I also will have help from my kitty...I guess sometimes help is no help at all. Lol!! HMerry Christmas, Claudia
I love these! I hope after she has opened them you share with us what you put in them. I love the idea! Jax always makes me smile. I have two helpful kitties and they definitely keep things interesting!
Love this video! I made 16 gift bags for our 2 grandchildren allowing them one to open on each night of Hanukkah.
What a lovely idea
Thats awesome and great idea
Nice!
How long it took you to finish all 16 bags ?
@@vass5024 - I sewed them over about a week ago- an hour here and there.
What an adorable kitty! I love that he’s right there with you. So sweet.
I love Jax's appearance & your willingness to be vulnerable by showing bloopers at the end. Thank you!
These would be great filled with Valentine's Day goodies!
I've watched a few tutorials for little bags, as each Christmas I find I've forgotten the instructions from last year. Your tutorial was beautifully taught. Thank you.
Very cute and simply adored your kitty for all the help he rendered . Thank you
Love the ending. Showing the “real”things that happens give such a laugh to help any stress of the day! Thanks for the reality of life!
Jack is so precious. Love these cute bags
Best video instructions ever! Thank you so very much. God bless you and your family! I am going to try one now that will be larger. Thanks again!!
I love your feline helper. Great video. So much easier than others I’ve watched. You have beautiful hands btw!
Thank you. I’m gonna make some little ice packet bags to hold the ice packs at the hospital . I’m using the hospital gowns that have ripped and are called rejects . I’m back again this year to make these!! People love them so much, they will not return them! I love these baggies myself as well! They’re perfect!!
Great video. Little bags are adorable. Jax at the end with the string is hilarious. Love the out takes. So cute.

Wonderful!
Cute little bags! Much easier way than what I have done. I did put a small bell on the ends of the twine.
Well, you were excellent, very clear and thorough and I loved the bags. Have to say though that Jax stole the show - not to mention the twine 😂
Actually a pet is unhygienic to have around gift bags.
Great video! I've watched several videos on how to make drawstring bags, and this one is the best. My sister asked me to make her bread bags, so I'll adapt for that. Thanks for the great content!

The helper come after the work done! Luckily to cute to fired!
Love your cat watching you create! Nice and easy bag!
Thank you for such an achievable project. Great instructions, and love your cat.
I just love your kitty and how he was following your hands and the string while you were putting the drawstring in!!

Such a sweet, cute little kitty! He was so interested in what you were doing hehe :)
Adorable! Love Jax! He's a beauty and clearly a smart kitty
