I’ve been looking for an unlined drawstring bag tutorial for ages and this one is excellent. I wanted help on how to make the drawstring section well below the top edge using a single piece of fabric and this shows how! Thank you 😊

Thank you for sharing this. I am a new sewer at age 61. Have a couple of great nieces that love crafts so I've been practicing these so I can teach them how to make them. I plan to also teach them how to make the fabric yo yo's which they can carry in the bag and take out to play tic tac to on the bag - stole that idea from Pinterest.

I find it very difficult to leave a raw edge unfinished, unless it’ll be encased eventually as in quilting. Maybe it’s a little ocd, but I always want those edges contained somehow!

Ive got pins and a iron too
So the raw edges are just left to fray. No overlocking or French seam?
I find it very difficult to leave a raw edge unfinished, unless it’ll be encased eventually as in quilting. Maybe it’s a little ocd, but I always want those edges contained somehow!
These are good tips for finishing the project Barbara, and the edges can also be cut with pinking shears.
