You're an absolute legend Tom. Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to share your knowledge. Ive found your channel to be the best on UA-cam for learning the art of surf photography. You explain everything really well, and all the things I've learned from you Ive put into practice with awesome results. Most of all, I think it's cool that you obviously want to help others succeed and arent worried about sharing your secrets to make that happen. All the best and keep up the awesome content!

Amazing shots and positioning that only comes with experience in the water! Been looking at this setup with the 50mm as an entry into surf photography in the water since it is the most affordable setup without using zoom ports and attachments.

Thanks very much for this vid. I started my journey into surf photography using very basic gear and am limited to a 18-55mm kit lens in the housing I have. Now I feel ready to upgrade and am looking at a Liquid Eye advanced housing but was still unsure as to what lens i would use and subsequent port I'd need... looks like my nifty 50 will do ok. Happy if you (or anyone else) want to throw suggestions my way.

Thank you so much for your tips Tom! I´ve just bought a housing for my camera and I was wondering what kind of lenses I need. I have the canon 50mm 1.8f but my camera is a crop sensor.. so I should move around a bit I think. I was thinking on getting a 24mm 2.8f, which on a crop sensor is something like a 35mm I think?

Thanks for the video! Love those sunset shots, Did you use a flat port or dome for this session?

Hi Tom! Would you use a classic filter on your 50mm lens shooting with your dry port? If so, would you recommend using a ND or UV ? Thanks so much for your videos, you are doing an amazing job!

G'day Tom, New to your channel and really finding your info useful. Now I just need to get back in the water to put this knowledge to play. I'm wondering are you shooting your video with your full frame Cannon and then extracting stills? Also liking the quality of your video/ photo color grading. Pura Vida!
