You might want to check this method to wrap anything around a double curved surface: ua-cam.com/video/lc8RpntVxO0/v-deo.html

      Great add! Will pin this!

You should add a wrap to surface feature, this seems like a cumbersome work around with option to fail..
To the fusion team, you are doing good work, keep on going.

Agree completely. Hopefully we see a solution soon!

Very cool! SEEMS easy, but I sure it's difficult. Thanks to your video I now can follow these steps and get a result!

Thats our job! Make it look simple. haha
      Happy this helped!

Is it possible to do this around a body with hard angles (no fillets)? I got away with this technique using the smallest fillet possible (0.01mm) but would prefer not to have to do that.

    Excellent tip and so simple.

I wouldn't say it's THAT simple...but glad to have a way to do it!

@@adskFusion Ok, yes, you're right of course. But with practice, almost anything can become simple, and I do like to practice :-)

how did you cut it into parts to bend it

i have a slightly curved knurled surface that I need to curve slightly vertically (starts out curved horizontally, like around a cylinder) It was a knurled cylinder but I cut a patch from it. Anyone know how I can bend it? Idk if I can bend it using this method or not

    thanks for the tip,
Where did you get the sheet metal and surface options above the toolbar?

Hooray for memes being used in a professional setting. Want to wrap stuff in fusion 360 at all? You're gonna have a bad time... :P
Yall should really implement proper tools for this, the fact that fusion can calculate the wrap *SO QUICKLY* after you cut the shapes into your sheetmetal part implies that the actual code working under the surface to do this is really simple, having sketches conform to faces seems so fundamentally important.
I do a lot of fourth axis CNC work on complex cylinders and improvements to this workflow would change my life.

    • @Max_Marz
      @Max_Marz 5 років тому

Thanks for the walkthrough though! This is a workflow I can implement at least.

      Look! We're hip too, right?!?!?!?
And yes, we would much rather implement a proper tool...and hope to do so soon.

I'm more interested in the "volumetric" material of the wood block thing

Hey Kwong, that's a 3d wood material, thanks for noticing! Try them out in appearances!

Is that new? Can users create their own? Like say, laminated wood or carbon fiber sheets?

It's been there for quite a while. You have many ways to modify and create. Take a look! We really need more content on this though, or else I'd send you there! knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Details/99ad5359-d78c-48f0-93a8-efc404d48020.html

How convinient of you to use a design with splitted centers. It doesn't work properly when the letters' centers (on normal fonts) are on the non-flat areas.
Check the first O's center on the left...

You do this so quickly on the screen that even with pause and rewind it is very hard to track what you are doing.
