This was just the video I've been looking for! Just purchased a 1 1/4" Resaw King for My Grizzly G0514x and I'm super excited to try this blade out on some hard maple or walnut! Thanks for posting this video ^_^
Hi, thanks for weighing in. You should contact Laguna, I'm sure they'll take care of you. I have only had good results with ProForce blades. My saw usually has a 1/2" ProForce blade installed, unless I need to cut something with a really tight radius. I have encountered misaligned / poorly welded blades from other brands. Sometimes you can compensate for it by moving your thrust guides back slightly. Have a good one.
Thanks for the review, Willie. I have the same blade in a cabinet waiting for a 3/4" Woodslicer to get dull enough for replacement. I've been happy with the Woodslicers at 1/2" and 3/4", but I plan on checking out other vendors, as well. The first Timberwolf 1/2" I tried had a bad weld from the start (chunk, chunk, chunk as it rotated, I only used it for an hour or so before removing it), but the 1/4" Timberwolf I ordered at the same time has been fine. Will mix in a Carter Green Wood blade in the near future. I'm on a Grizzly G0555XH. New subscriber.
I think you'd like the Resaw King blade. Laguna ProForce blades have been very good with consistent quality for me as well. ProForce is their non-carbide line. Good luck deciding.
@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker I agree. I was planning on the ProForce because I didn't think the Resaw King was available in 105". As soon as I realized it was available in that size, I picked it up. Nice problem to have a variety of decent vendors to choose from.
One thing for sure...my laguna 14bx would never hold together with guides tightened the way you showed. Heck I even use a small adjustable wrench to keep em tight!
That's too bad. I've never had a problem with the guides loosening. Maybe dip the knobs in Plasticote for a better grip? I've done that with small hand clamps and it works great. Holds up long-term too! Best of luck with it.
My blade is having a really hard time resigning a 5.5 inch piece of pine. I just replace the belt on the bandsaw and I have the blade tightened all the way to 3/4 on my tightener. Any idea why it’s not cutting very well? it’s a pretty expensive blade to barely cut pine
Pine should be no issue for the 1412 bandsaw if the blade is sharp. I use a 1/2" ProForce blade. If you recently changed the belt, make sure the alignment and belt tension are good. You shouldn't have to over tension the blade. Best
Where do I check the alignment and belt tension. I made the belt is tight as I could with the nuts and bolts underneath holding the motor I have a Delta 28-269 14 inch bandsaw
Great review. I heard you mention about dust collection below the table for 2.5". Is it an attachment that you made in the shop or purchased from Laguna?
It's a custom modification I came up with. Actually a three-pronged approach to dust collection 1. Addition of secondary port, 2. Close Off space under table, and 3. Port Blocker for the factory port. You can watch all the details on my Bandsaw dust collection video... ua-cam.com/video/D9owHkBcKZc/v-deo.html It Works Amazingly Well!!! where did you buy it, I can't find the 143 inch version
I'm glad you have good results with Proforce blades. I have one (1/4" 6 TPI) that has a pretty bad weld (two ends not aligned well at all).

Very good review! I like using 1/2 inch carbide tipped for general cutting on the bandsaw.
Yeah, I could see a lot of advantages to using a 1/2" carbide blade. Very versatile choice.

@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker I have the Laguna King saw reblade. It is 3/4 inch thick so that’s why it is tighten the 3/4. The blade is brand new

Ok, I see. That all sounds good. Make sure your upper and lower ceramic guides are set right for that blade. Best of luck.
@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker touching the blade? Now when I cut, the blade tends to move close to the fence, like not cutting straight

What's the resaw depth of the 1412
The factory spec is 12" but about 13" will fit under the guides.

@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker Your solution was ingenious, thank you. I will apply it to my laguna 18bx.
@@atildora9034 Great! Good luck with it!
PS
this is my exact same set up and saw. LOL !
Nice! Hope you enjoy your 1412 as much as I do. I use that thing all the time.
