The show has a theme of Shades of grey , the trailer was too on the nose to show that Aaravous is sinister. Feel like it set up to be a misdirection. I predict by the end of this season we will still question if he good or evil.

At the bottom of the star map you can 6 jewels which each stands for one primal source. The star is the biggest, but interestingly the sun and sky are smaller than the rest. I think that symbolize both sources have lost something. Sun loses lux aurea and sky loses its arch dragon. If we go from left to right for the rest, we see earth, ocean and moon. In season 4 earth will suffer a huge lost.
I have another wild theory that the death of the dragon king means that callum could connect to sky. (Sky has lost its most powerful user)

    Aaravos Complexity Theory
    1. Doesn't want to rule the world but rather pull strings of events from the shadows
    2. More invested into the progress of elf and humankind
    3. Once befriended the Orphan Queen who was likely one of the people responsible for imprisoning the Startouch Elf
    4. Key of Aaravos is likely an artifact that the Startouch Elf uses to wield something great. However, it also became the key to his own prison.
    5. Dragon Prince has some similarities to Game of Thrones
    - The Starks were the protectors of the North who swore to defend Westeros against the White Walkers. However, the Starks forgot their purpose.
    - The Orphan Queen swore to protect the world from Aaravos and guard his Key. However, Harrow and his predecessors forgot the Key's significance
    6. Aaravos will make Claudia his disciple and gather a large following of human and elves who resent the current status quo
    7. He genuinely likes humanity but has a savior complex who wishes to put a large mark on humankind
    8. He dislikes Viren for his arrogance and lust for knowledge and power.
    9. He will be more fond of Claudia and her cheerful nature compared to Viren. Both Aaravos and Claudia might have a funny dynamic duo.
    10. He has a huge grudge against dragons and doesn't see them worth living

This might sound weird but, maybe Claudia and Aaravos could have a dynamic similar to Morticia and Gomez

@@DragonGoddess18 I hope Azymondias will be able to speak as he grows up. I also believe Pyrrah, the red dragon, is actually mute. Pyrrah is almost 75 and her being underage to speak is cruel. Either that, or thunder dragons and fire dragons’ biology works differently.

I understand that the cube has been in the Katolis royal family's possession for three-hundred years which seems like a very short time to have forgotten something so important, especially since the thing they're supposed to the guarding is close at hand as a handy reminder, as opposed to the White Walkers who, I'm guessing, had been avoiding notice for thousands of years. I also find it inconsistent that Harrow had known about the Key, knew what it was called and even some details about its creator, but managed to forget that it was a very dangerous artifact that his family was supposed to be keeping out of circulation.
Also, given how much Aaravos has been able to do without the Key, I see no reason to believe that he needs it to escape.

    • @RK-zh1ib
      @RK-zh1ib 2 роки тому +1

@@ethenallen1388 Aaravos clearly stated that he doesn't know where he is imprisoned. If he knows his prison's location, he can find a a way to free himself. Therefore, he might need his Key back which he would assume Harrow gave it to either Callum or Ezran. The most likely answer to where Aaravos is imprisoned is the Nexus since the story build up so much mystery about the Nexus in Season 2, the books, and the comics.

I kinda wish Netflix shows like the dragon prince would release episodes weakly instead of all at once. Making the show last 10 weeks would help these long productions times between Seasons easier to wait.

Here's my completely off the wall hypothesis:
After achieving the height of their civilization, the Star Touch Elves began dying off until Aaravos was either the last or of one of the last. He blamed their near extinction on a lack of adversity which he thought was as essential for growth and creativity, so he decided to provide Xadia with the conflict he thought they needed to survive. He wants to kill all of the arch-dragons whom he sees as a threat to change and growth, he finds the humans fascinating and actually wants to help them. Some things have not gone according to his plans, but he enjoys being surprised and even if he's defeated he will probably see himself as having accomplished his goals.

I agree with what you, said about Viren being a chess piece being manipulated by Aaravos here, but only the future of this cartoon will tell the tale or story here, I can't wait to see it soon when it comes out.

I think the teaser would have been a lot more effective if the creators hadn't already been teasing the whole "mystery of Aaravos" thing days before it came out. As a result, it didn't feel like we learned anything new and they definitely hyped it up to be bigger than it was. I do think it's a cool video though. Beautiful music, lots of interesting imagery and parallels... so although it's kind of disappointing upon first glance, there's actually quite a bit to unpack when you look closer, considering how short it is.
My theory is that I don't think Aaravos is necessarily after power for the sake of power. Based on what I've read in interviews and the recent "Patience" short story, I think Aaravos is more angry and bitter than anything else. Perhaps whatever he did that led to his "fall" was not evil, but something the other Startouch Elves simply didn't like. And as a result, he got pissed and decided to turn Xadia and the humans against each other, and that's what ultimately led to him getting locked away. And he's been waiting centuries to resume his plan to get even with his people who shunned him for whatever reason.
I don't really have any evidence to suggest whether he's simply always been a villain or was made that way because he was betrayed or hurt in some big way. But I'm tempted to go with the latter, simply because we have not seen a whole lot of black and white displays of good and evil in The Dragon Prince yet, and it seems Aaron Ehasz enjoys complex characters and redemption arcs. At one point when talking about Aaravos, I believe he called him "complicated" and suggested that being bad and disliked are two different things. So I just get the vibe that the creators are setting the character up to be more than what he seems. Guess we will find out soon!

When the teaser finished SO quickly I thought, "oh this is so short, but they're about to give us a date as the hype moment right... right?" Yeah, I'm happy to have content but I thought it would be longer with more or at the very least give us a hard start date and it did neither😕

Why is no one talking about the bottom of the map? Doesn't that seem to be the spheres of magic? The dark one seems very big compared to the rest although there is only 6 including dark so one is missing.

    • @ethenallen1388

I believe that largest symbol represents the Star Arcanum. Aaravos probably made that map so he would give his own Arcanum preferences and dark magic wouldn't be included.

So I just watched all the episodes from seasons 1-3 for the first time this late summer. I had never even heard of this show until this summer. I am glad season 4 seems to be the last we'll see of Viren as I find him to be a rather boring villain. I think his backstory is decent, but his overall personality, demeanor, and character are blah...boring. Aaravos, on the other hand, is actually a very interesting and enticing character from his physical appearance to his personality, mannerisms, background story... just all-around. I'd like to see a genuinely warmer side of him though. And I agree with your overall assessment of that trailer.

Could aaravos be callum ancestor or father?

    • @ethenallen1388
      @ethenallen1388 2 роки тому +1

1 Aaravos had been imprisoned in that mirror for centuries. If Calumn had been centuries old, don't you think it would be common knowledge?
2 A great deal of the conflict centers around the idea that humans can only perform magic using a Primal Stone or by ripping the life out of another creature. If Calumn is fully human then his connecting to the Sky Arcanum means other humans can also learn Primal Magic and that would help resolve things. If he's of elven decent then, if anything, the original conflict will be reinforced.
That's why I think the answer to your question is no.
