Love the new video roles. Kinda wish they would make them more visual in the timeline: make the top of the thumbnail frame the video role color and color the audio waveform per the audio role; if the waves aren't displayed, color the bottom line of the thumbnail's box according to the audio role. But otherwise, really well done
Apple FCP... Apple finally came to the party 12y5m9d after release of 10.0 to bring smooth scrolling to the timeline. To me, and guess every other person using tcp, it was a critical basic feature that was missing. Thanks guys for your up to date videos, much appreciated.
Compared to recent firefly announcements, the FCP update looks like straight garbage. Been using FCP since 2012 and it has changed to little since then and not in a good way... Divinci gets more recognition than FCP at their own events. Any notice the last announcement shot on iPhone 15 was edited in davinci, not FCP? Why won't they just sell FCP to some that will innovate it?
Thanks for the quick update to show me how to turn on the scrolling timeline. It's rather jolty on my M1, not as smooth as I'd like. Is it kind of jittery for others?
( Adobe Media encoder is no issue that same process and it’s working fine. ) I like apple compressor but for this issue I using adobe media for some work…
I enjoy using Final Cut however they aren’t listening to their users who spend the time & money on the software. Final Cut is severely behind the competition. If this 10.7 is the best they decided to come up with they have failed us users. Thanks for the content 👌🏽
I was thinking the same thing. As an editor that started with a Matrox Digisuite running Adobe Premiere 5.0. I've seen the progression of non-linear editing software, and still feel FCPX is far behind other options even CAPCUT. I know most of the original FCP dev team were laid off, and immediately hired by Adobe in the mid 2000's when they shifted into mostly making Iphones. Oh what could have been...
Awesome, Thanks, Quick question, I know I have to Compress my older version but are my motion templates folders and plugins effected with the new update and do I have to make a copy of all my FX, Transitons etc etc folders before updating? Or does FCPX not change anything in those folders or plugins? Thanks!!!

Too late using DaVinci Resolve and not going back. I hated that I had to buy plugins for things Resolve Studio provided with better implementation for one fee. I hated the default magnetic timeline. It always felt like Premiere Elements. Nodes, Fusion, and other powerful features even in the free version of Resolve. Resolve also edits my NRAW footage.
Scrolling time line, finally after so long of waiting it's only been on garage band etc for years, and connected time lines finally too ! The tracking features are fantastic on M3 MAX, and so is export, finding render times are 10 percent faster , which were "SCAREY" FAST already on a M3 MAX, while only small features added for Final Cut, it all make my day way better and faster ! lets hope the next release has way more features for Apple silicon based Macs, its really time to leave INTEL in the dust at this stage.
Scrolling timeline wasn’t FCP biggest issue.. Question is, does FCP take RAW footage now? I’m tired of using other application to export my footage just to go edit on FCP…
Not huge feature upgrade for iPad version. Still no stabiliser for clips like Mac version but only if you’re using the camera pro. Have to wait for version 1.4.
