Oh WOWSERS GALORE Ana :-D what a MAGNIFICENT update of all of your AMAZING collection, and Hans and I watched this together last night and we were in our element watching all of your beautiful collection, we loved part one and two, the cactus at 2:38 is a Cleistocactus winterii Cristata 'Golden Rat's Tail cristata' I have one of these and they are amazing with their wavy gold appearance, mine has not flowered yet but I think the flowers will be like the Golden rats tail with the orange blooms, your Cactus garden is so gorgeous too and we LOVE your pink opuntia 'Santa rita' and WOW at the HUGE Opuntias, such a wonderful update Ana and thanks so much for sharing, and Hans and I are sending you an abundance of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a fantastic weekend ahead XXXX
Desert Plants of Avalon thank you for the ID. Several of you suggested that name as well so I’m sure now that it is a Cleistocactus winterii cristate form. I’m glad you and Hans like my garden. It is amazing how they grow big once planted in the ground. Thank you so much Hans and Lyn. I am enjoying your blooming videos as well. 😃👍🏼🥰🌵🌸 Cheers from hot Las Vegas!
Love your collection of Cactuses. It is so beautiful. I've started to buy Cactuses now you have me hooked. Love your videos I have learned a lot. On how to take care of them. Your the Greast. Keep it up. Thank you JudyAnn.Iles from Circleville Ohio.
Hi I’m Santi from Thailand this is a recommendation from my experience to planting cacti you should water your cacti because they are don’t take enough water to be growing maybe until you see the soil very dry you should water them just try it 🌵🌸🌵
I love your videos! I didn’t realize you had so many! Congrats they look great! I love that u sometimes don’t know the names! I don’t either! Tks for sharing!
I finally watched a video of Clyde Morris and he was great! I told him I met him cause you mention him a lot as a source of info and his collection is to die for!
The little white Euphorbia you got as a cutting is a Euphorbia polygona. I love these plants! I have 3. Two males and one female. I just crossed my male polygona with E. Ceriformis, and E.horrida var.striata. And now have hybrid seedlings of both!! Love your leuctenbergias and the Obregonia!! Used to have these years ago but sadly lost them. Nice plants Anna!! From Morris park in the Ozarks , have a great cactus & succulents day!!!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌸🌿🌻
Hi Ana! Of course you deserve a thumbs up. Beautiful collection of cacti and succulents.....love every single one of them. I like how you've arranged them accordingly. Great update of all your beautiful plants. Only managed to watch now...☺️☺️
Molly Cher thanks Molly. I arranged them just for the video to make it easier to present. It worked well because it forced me to organize my backyard. 😉

Wow! You have such beautiful cacti. I love your in ground garden, simply lovely. Also, thank for all the plant I.D. and names, it helped me to identify some of my own unmarked species. Your videos are so enjoyable and fun.
Astrophytum live in very rocky soil. Mine do well in the ground in native Arizona soil with high clay content mixed with decomposed granite. I use a lot of decomposed granite quartr/ minus available from rock yards.
I really love your stellar collection of cacti, aloes, and haworthia thriving in your yard. And I especially appreciate seeing them as mature specimens. I just started collecting so this video was very informative 👍🏻
Hi Ana. Just ran across your videos. I love your collection and have learned so much just from the few I've seen so far. I live in Las Vegas as well and have started a small cacstus/succulent collection on my apartment balcony. Your collection is very impressive and also inspiring to see. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your amazing collection with us. I have subscribed now to your channel and look forward to watching all your videos! Keep up the great work and the passion to grow!
I have a cactus that looks somewhat like yours but yours is much fuller than mine. The name that was on my cactus when I bought it is Trichocereus huascha cristata. You can go check a video I have of it on my last plant video. You have a great collection and they all look very happy and healthy. Take care.
WOW-what a beautiful collection! I can’t wait to obtain that many. Wonderful tour. I loved your rainbow hedgehogs; I planted some seeds a few weeks ago and 4 have germinated!
Ana I love the videos. An your Cactuses are Beautiful. Is it best to transplant Cactuss in the Spring. I have some that need transplant. Is it bad to do it in winter. Its December here in Ohio. Just wondering when would be best. You really have me hooked on Cactuses I love going to Home Depot s.p.an Walmart for them..Your the Best Ana😍💞🌵 An God Bless You. An be safe🌵💜
By late spring or as soon as our temperatures reach over 90F constantly, I put up a 50% shade cloth. Otherwise, they are in full morning sunshine for about 4 hours. Our sun’s UV rays here in the desert is intense. They will burn otherwise.

Those gymnos that I showed in this video are purple because that is their natural color. Some of them are a little sun-stressed but most of them are mihanovichii so they have that natural purple color in them. 🙂
Super enjoyed the tour, Ana. I have a bit of a better luck when it comes to Astrophytums. I learned they actually appreciate more frequent watering especially when they have buds. I water mine every 5 days and my humidity level here doesn’t go below 60%. Some of my myriostigmas are even outside my balcony receiving rain and sun almost all day. I have more of them in my collection. I am however, jealous of your Rainbow Hedgehogs! 😍 They’re awesome but they prefer arid conditions which I don’t have so i have killed some. 🤣 Thank you for the tour. Ingat lagi. ❤️🌵🙏🥰😍❤️
Great tour Ana, as Edith said Astros seem to prefer more frequent waterings. I’ve noticed with mine, especially the asterias, is they don’t like hot direct sunlight all day. Mine only get about 4 hours of direct sunlight and that seems to be enough for them. Enjoyed the complete tour Ana. From Edith & myself, have a wonderful day 😊🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜☕️
I watched a Filipino UA-cam channel where the astro grower/collector keeps his astros in a tray with water 24/7! It’s like an aquaphonics setup. He turned his astrophytum into a semi-aquatic plant! Yes, I think astrophytum likes more humidity and temperate climate.

Lovely collection anna.Your descriptions are so informative. Just love the purple opuntia....haven’t found one for sale in Australia. As we are coming into winter I am keeping mine very thirsty.
Cherree Densley oh I hope you find one of this purple opuntia varieties. They are so attractive when stressed. From hot Las Vegas to cold Australia, CHEERS! 😉☕️
Dina Staggs, from among those that I have tried, I would say an Echinopsis subdenudata (domino cactus) and a Fairy Castle cactus. But even indoors, they need bright sunlight so as long as you can provide them sun, they usually do good even inside the house. 🙂
That is one reason why I like using all terra cotta pots. All the soil in the pots dry out at the same time so I can water them all on a schedule during summer
Hi, Ana! That's a beautiful collection! Your Gymnocalycium Mihanovichii Friedrichii is growing by itself. Did you get it rooted already? I only could find it on top of the other green cactus. I love the Gymnocalycium mihanovichii friedrichii, but i hate this green stem 😆 do you know if pups from Gymnocalycium itself can be rooted in substrate, instead of putting them on another ugly pole?
Marina Indricane I got mine already rooted. If they have some kind of green color in them, they can grow on their own roots. Also the purple ones can grow on their own. 🙂
Oh wow really enjoyed both parts. Oh I LOVE your Trichocereus grandiflorus in the desert garden. I should be getting one soon I hope. I hear they come in different flower colors. Wow your two copiapoas are lovely. Especially that second one. It's a shame some cactus are so hard to come by or so expensive. Thanks so much for sharing.
Many of them were from Star Nursery since they are the closest to me. But I go online to find their IDs or sometimes, viewers here or from Instagram are very good at giving me their IDs. 😉 Then some of them I bought from California nurseries or online (planetdesert.com). 🌵☕️
Not on my totem pole but I get it in my other columnar cacti. They are caused by damage or sudden change in temperatures or climate. I usually don’t do anything. They heal by themselves once they are acclimated.

Cactus Caffeine it’s a bit tricky though if their roots are constantly in water because they do not grow strong. 2 extreme schools of thought. 😂
I might have to relocate my astros with my hanging cacti. Treat it like an epiphyte

Thank you! Two of you gave me the same ID. That explains why it does not like a lot of sun! 😄
Hi, Love your videos, and garden. I am actually calling you my Cacti Guru to all my mates.
Anyway, I have recently got myself an Astrophytum and did a little research on how to care for them. and I saw your Astrophytum collection, and you said it's not growing so well. Its just I am wondering, for the Astrophytum Capricorne the problem might be the water and the soil? it seems like they are on the alkaline side, so it's better to water them with tap water that contains higher ph rather than rainwater? I saw in your other video, that you are using normal water and add vinegar to lower the ph to make it more acidic to mimic rainwater.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Cheers!
Oh, I did not know Astrophytum likes alkaline soil. Let me research more on that. Thanks for the tip! 😀
Hey I like your coffee cup lol

beautiful collection! Can you keep your Pilosocereus azureus outside during the winter? mine is getting too big to my terrace 😕

Beautiful collection Ana .,one question how do you treat the pots before planting the cactus?
Is it best to transplant my Cactuses in the Spring.. Is it bad for them in winter. Mine are in side.the house. Thank you. JudyAnn
Spring and summer is best. I only repot in winter when it is extremely necessary.

Thank you so much. I’ll be on the look out for these cacti. 😍
How do you keep track of the watering you have so many plants!
