How to Install an Apron Front Sink into kitchen cabinets

Installing an apron front sink may look a little intimidating, but it is actually pretty easy. Not a whole lot of steps involved. Just take your time and make sure all measurements are correct and you should have a stellar install! I had planned on using a apron front sink when we ordered these cabinets. If you plan ahead you can order a sink base that is "prepped" for this application.
I had to create a shelf for the sink to set on which I used a 3/4" pc of plywood held up with some cleats I fastened to the side of the sink base and used some pocket hole screws from Kreg on the front side. This will be a very stable base for the sink... which is pretty darn heavy. This sink is by Bocchi. It is a fireclay material. I haven't used this type or brand, but it seems to be a very sturdy and a really beautiful sink with a good price point. It is matte black in color. After the shelf was installed, I prepped the width of the opening to accommodate the sink and added about a 1/8" width overall. I used some fillers on each side and that gave me a guide that my router will ride on to have the finished opening dimension. But, before I used the router, I cut the rough opening with a jig saw so I wouldn't have to take out so much material with the router when using the flush bit.
