This is a great compilation Chavez, though the best Kitchen Nightmares episode is the one in Amy's Baking Company.
The only episode where Gordon walks away from the restaurant unable to help them, because Amy can't handle criticism of any kind.

I've been an exterminator for 7 years now. I have been to all types of restaurants and the dirtiest ones with the most bugs and mice/rat infestation have been the "real" restaurants. Fast food places tend be cleaner. Fucking weird.
Makes sense to me twistidtimmer, fast food places are huge chains with rules and regulations and corporate structure, and the people running them have to follow suit or they can get fired too. A person owning a restaurant doesn't have anything keeping them in line except what they can get away with and still make money, and if they can't manage it it goes to hell, they can pass the blame off on employees or whoever they want and keep skating by until it all comes crashing down around them.

I was a regular at a Chinese restaurant, been going for years. Last week I found it had been shut down due to unsanitary conditions such as spoiled food and bugs. Makes me sick to think about all the times I was there, lucky never got ill.

The chef arguing with Gordon knew that particular dish was going to be going to a food critic, he purposely over seasoned it so when she complained he came right over said he’d make something special for her and used it as an excuse to go back to his old menu just so he could tell Gordon his new menu he made for them was crap.

A good show he is on that is pretty new is Gordon Behind Bars. He goes to a prison in Britain and teaches a group of inmates how to cook. Its got some pretty funny moments of him with the actual prisoners ( like when they get the knives out for the first time, and when a prisoner pops off and Gordon shuts his crap down without missing a beat and he DOESNT get stabbed) Its pretty interesting seeing him take these hard inmates and getting them to set up an actual business that I believe are still running now.

The whole fat thing is because if you're working in a restaurant, and you're fat, you're doing something wrong. Keep in mind, when he says fat, he MEANS fat, not chubby or bigger, but fat. For example, he wouldn't call YOU fat, you're probably the perfect size for a chef, where you obviously enjoy eating, but aren't lazy, so it doesn't become an issue. When he says fat, he means the people who jiggle as they walk, who are so lazy they don't burn more than a thousand calories a day. On the other end of the spectrum, if you're too thin and a chef, it's ALSO an issue, because that means you don't enjoy food enough to know what is good and what isn't.
