  • The break-in period of our Alpine A110 is finally over.
Now we can test the car on our dyno, how it performs in stock.
We're also doing a time measurement from 100 - 200 KM/H in stock and we're having a little chit-chat about the technical aspects of the engine.

RaceChip is a brilliant possibility to increase the performance of a lot of diesel and fuel driven vehicles with only little effort.
This is yielded by a reasonable mixture of excess performance, increase in torque and fuel savings. The best of all: If your driving behaviour remains the same, the service life of your motor will even be as long as in serial condition.
Proven a thousand times with a long experience: That's RaceChip.

Hi, great video as always, 2 questions for you : does the gearbox will tolarate the horsepower and torque gain? And what about the electronically limited top speed, have you disconected it or done anything to reach the true topspeed of the car? Thanks ;)

That would be one of my concerns - the gearbox is nominally rated at 320nm maximum. Personally I think that is good because it means that the torque needs to be maintained well up the rev range to get the power. As was said in the video this means that the engine feels much more like a normally aspirated one than most turbos at high revs. Unlike other chips which focus on a big increase in torque in the midrange I'd prefer to see one that focussed on maintaining or enhancing this "NA" feel. So little if any increase in midrange torque - just maintain it beyond 5000 rpm. Not the normal way of tuning turbos, I know, and wouldn't give headline figures - but imo might be nicer to drive.

Thanks Gabriel and sorry for the late reply! We're still in the development process of the RaceChip for our Alpine A 110 but we'll post an update video with all technical details about the tune and how it affects the car shortly. However, we definitely won't eliminate the VMAX limiter because this is very hard to do without interfering directly with the original ECU of the car.

Was your 100-200kph test from a standing 100kph or a run through?

Hi Tony, we do run through measurements and start at around 80 km/h.
