Today on the show, we have the fantastic horror writer - K. Hari Kumar. He is an Indian novelist and screenwriter. He has penned the story and screenplay for many Malayalam Movies and the Hindi language psychological horror web series Bhram (web series). He has been featured as one of the top horror writers in India. He has written 50 horror short stories which featured in the 2019 book called India's Most Haunted.
The one thing I know for sure is that ghosts, monsters, torture, darkness, and everything in between... They're all modes of some sort of (dark) self-discovery.
As you might have noticed lately, our content (reels, podcasts) has become much darker. It's much more inclined toward the paranormal now... That is because I'm personally exploring these subjects in depth. Have they taken over me completely? Not yet. But I am definitely altered by the things I am learning about.

I am confused... I don't think whatever he said matches with anything I heard about yakhas and yakshinis... We all know in the walls of old Hindu temples the figures of yakshinis are carved on as a mother figure of worship or protector... They are supernatural beings who are at lower staars(levels) of Adi Shakti or Mother Goddess like maa durga. But definitely they are not chudails or they aren't even the victims of wrong doings like what he said witch hunting... Yakshinis and yakshas possess supernatural powers and they belong from a different realm and chudails or daains are like witches who sacrifice their own children... Well that's what I knew.

Yakshi is a femme fatale. Like he said it did come from the oppression on women. Feudal system in Kerala left lower caste women very vulnerable to assaults by higher caste landlords. Some villages let women raped as a part of tradition. Yakshi became an entity that could scare away these vultures. It spread as a part of folklore. It was more used as a warning to those who mistreated women. Because prey is always a higher caste men in those lores.

The guy has no knowledge of it. Listen to what Rajashri Nandy said on this topic. Nature and karma are utterly fair and just. Nature or god does not punish you for being mistreated. There are only 3-4 scenarios in which after death a person's spirit will turn into a pret and wander in this realm for a long time. Suicide is the only one which guarantees that you become a pret after death. Rest of the sins can be washed away through intense penance or passed onto you as your karma in number of lifetimes.
