Its more likely Sony is worried after the State of Play 😂.
Right...m
Agree 💯
True LOL!
Only Nintendo ninresnfo fans say this.
@@Rick.Grayson because Sony just quietly acknowledge their year is shite? Sony themselves stayed they have nothing big coming out for a while.
Employee: "Mister Miyamoto, what did you think of the presentation?"
Miyamoto: "Oh crap, sorry, I fell asleep, what did I miss?"
If Nintendo is even SLIGHTLY worried after that State of Play then I’m worried for Nintendo. 😂
Exactly
yep
There was literally nothing to be worried about lol
The state of play made me less confident about owning a PS5.
Nintendo doesn't need to worry.
I think the only ones that should be worried after that State of Play are the owners of PS consoles 💀
Nobody is afraid of old hardware. As we speak the Switch 2 is outdated 2 years ago. Playstation 5 and Switch are 2 different products. They're no competition. Console gamers mostly have a ps5 as main console and some have switch as a portable. Small childeren will mostly use the switch as main game console. Childeren ae not the audience Playstation is catering for. Sony isn't worried. :)
@@a.n.3284Sony is in trouble. Ps5’s exclusives having only 13 exclusives in 3/4 years is funny and they do not have big releases until April of 2025. I am personally skipping ps5 and I am sure I’m not the only one. I ain’t wasting 600 euros.
@@a.n.3284the primary demographic of switch is young adults aged between 20-25.
@@M7ner08 no they are not. its just you stupid console warrior weirdos who push the fake narratives around. Consoles are fine. People also claim ps and xbox don't have games... idk they both have thousands of games so... lol its so stupid. Console wars are just stupid.
@@a.n.3284 That kind of business model is what made PS5 a dead console in Japan, the problem is having only male casual Western players (That mostly buy FIFA/Madden) between 25-35 as their user base is not sustainable long term, given the rising cost of game development. Switch and Nintendo are on its on league as you said, but PS5 is trying to compete with PC gaming (And with Xbox still on its tail, taking some parts of their target), and at this rate they will lose more and more people over time, as those people age.
Wow that Astro Bot trailer gave off huge Nintendo vibes.
The free sampler type game we got with the PS5 was basically this already but just pint sized. It was awesome like 2-3 hour experience. The fact there making into a similar full game is awesome.
Yeah they should conciser doing that for what's left of their other IPs.
Make sense when is practically the one Japanese made playstation game asides from gran turismo.
If there's anyone I feel bad for after watching that State of Play, it's the developers of that game Nikki Infinity. They showed that, and it seems to be a 3D platformer with a photography element. I was thinking "Oh, this is a nice genre that you don't really see on PS5 much" only for it to immediately be blown out of the water by Astro Bot
Sony is more worried about the bomb Nintendo has yet to drop. Its why sony is getting their state of play out of the way early.
no they are not. its just you stupid console warrior weirdos who push the fake narratives around. Consoles are fine. People also claim ps and xbox don't have games... idk they both have thousands of games so... lol its so stupid. Console wars are just stupid.
Astro Bot is the only game they announced that I want to play.
This shouldn’t even be a discussion. Lol As a PlayStation fan, there was nothing during this State of Play that is a competitive threat for Nintendo. Astro Bot I’m absolutely, and only interested most. But overall that was more of a filler small scale, not bringing their A game event. Lol I imagine most of your viewers are hardcore Nintendo folks anyway, but they are going to be right about this one. Personal favoritisms aside. :p
The State of Play was not that good. Nintendo has nothing to be worried about. If someone should be worried, it’s Sony themselves.
Playstation 5 is selling like hotcakes and this gen is breaking records of revenue, why would Sony be worried?
@@fearghalbarry7866 bc they aren’t making good games that people will actually play. Instead, they’re pumping out tons of live games like Apex. They spent most of the State of Play on a game that’s probably going to fail, when we want to see good writing and storytelling and gameplay in their games, not some Apex clone.
@@titus2245 They have been making record breaking software all gen - if they aren't making games people want to play, how are they selling games for record numbers if nobody wants to play their games? And Concord looks nothing like Apex besides having hero abilities - you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
@@fearghalbarry7866 my bad then. But the majority of people agree that Sony isn’t really giving us anything (this also isn’t a big deal)
no they are not. its just you stupid console warrior weirdos who push the fake narratives around. Consoles are fine. People also claim ps and xbox don't have games... idk they both have thousands of games so... lol its so stupid. Console wars are just stupid.
No. Nintendo hasnt been concerned with another hardware manufacturer in decades
Love that we’re pretending they weren’t almost bankrupt during the crazy mismanagement of the Wii U era
I wouldn't call it mismanagement. If anything it was really a marketing issue. The name shouldn't have been "Wii U" it should have been something else to make it distinct. Add to that a bit more clarity on what it was.
@@zetacorn3749 It was blatant mismanagement. Nintendo filed hundreds of thousands of copyright strikes on streamers and content creators who were only bringing more attention to their games. They didn’t see the point of content creation and only let a very select few into their creator program. Their rules were myopic and draconian. Furakawa ran the company into the ground with how strict they were. NO ONE was allowed to make Nintendo content because they could not show gameplay so there was no hype or buzz surrounding their projects and everyone else ran laps around them in sales. What you’re saying about the marketing was also true- but it’s no secret things were severely mismanaged.
Wii U wasn’t that long ago
@@Blballerboy I still don't think Nintendo cares. They do their own thing regardless. They may recognize on some level that they need to get the next one just right and they probably are fully aware the Wii U was a failure. But there comparing themselves to themselves not themselves to other companies.
I think it's funny how (at least this one) State of Play's differences from Nintendo Directs mirror Sony and Nintendo's strategies as a whole. Nintendo Directs have so many games, mostly from indies or from known (if sometimes obscure) existing franchises. Meanwhile, this State of Play, while being the same length, instead focuses on a small handful of really high budget, high graphical fidelity AAA studio games.
Honestly you guys have such different perspectives i love it. It was obvious that the state of play was a flip but you guys come at it from a different perspective that no other nintendo youtuber/podcaster/journalist comes from. Would have never thought that nintendo would even think astrobot would be somewhat competition for them to even think twice about lmao 😂
I’d say Sonys worried about Nintendo and Xbox after that showing haha
I imagine if the big 3 were a friend group Playstation and Xbox are constantly fighting while Nintendo is probably saying "What's going on I just got here"
Sorry if you've mentioned this elsewhere already but will we be getting a Direct Predictions video? Always a fun time watching those with you guys.
I literally fell asleep during the State of Play and only woke up for Astro Bot 😂
There’s something about June and all the directs and gaming announcements and speculation that I just love listening to, thanks guys!!
Does Nintendo actually watch or at least look up what game announcements Sony and Microsoft make or don't they bother at all, whats your experience?
Yes they do so that Nintendo can decide the best date and time to drop their game so that they won't get in the way of another games attention.
They talk about it in the video at 3:26
@@MaxAethon
Sorry I kinda missed that. Does that apply to Nintendo of America or Nintendo Japan though? I feel like Nintendo Japan are the ones who don't care.
@@FracturedDreams no, I think Nintendo Japan are the ones doing the research. NOA is in charge of marketing and localizing, but Nintendo Japan is the one making the big decisions, and I definitely think they are smart enough to do research on their competitors.
@@FracturedDreams There's no reason why they wouldn't care. Otherwise they wouldn't try to attract third parties to their platforms, try to corner markets that their competitors seems to be neglecting, price their consoles accordingly, etc. Assuming the new Monster Hunter isn't coming to the new system for the time being that would be something for Nintendo to care about since that would mean they'd lose a big chunk of that audience that was there for MH Rise.
Rescue mission and Playroom were surprisingly fun and creative experiments. Hope this full-fledged adventure will do well on PS5, even though the typical audience for these games are on a different console.
Astro Bot, Infinity Nikki and Minster Hunter looked really great! Out of those three games only one is first party. I wohldn't be surprised if Nintendo would deliver a better Q2 2024 than Sony even if all they did was some remaster and Wind Waker / Twilight Princess ports
Infinity Nikki and Astrobot look great! Can’t wait for those, possibly Silent Hill 2. Love this time of year :)
Silent Hill 2 looked like discount re4 remake
@@andykerwi it does but it might he good who knows!
Astrobot looks great but that’s all I was interested in
No Nintendo is just fine in fact I think the June Direct will blow it out of the water!
Do you like remakes so much? And gladly pay full price for it? Is that what it means for you? Blowing it out of the water?
I think Sony is worried about Sony after that State of Play haha
I will admit Astro bot reminded of Super Mario Galaxy, but not complaining. It’s nice to see more 3-D platformers again. it looks like you have to save some old PlayStation mascots lol
Fun!
So there's Monster Hunter World and now Monster Hunter Wilds. We already had that confusion with The Outer Worlds and The Outer Wilds.
MH Wilds was the only game i cared about. Astro Bot was surprisingly interesting but the whole time I watched the trailer I was thinking about how much it felt like an Nintendo platformer
Astro Bot looked awesome, I hope the next Mario game will be even better
It's a low bar given Astro Bot literally copies every Mario platformer in existence without really adding anything new
@@Jalex0021oh please! Because it's a colorfull third person game with a lot of jumping? You know better.
@@Jalex0021Hahahaha you speak as if Mario is super original. Mario is just a nice platformer, that's it. Nintendo fans are hilarious.
Like you said the only game there that would appeal to a Nintendo audience is the Astro Bot game and I don't think people are going to buy a $500 console just for that. If you're into that style of game you are probably already playing stuff like Mario and Kirby on Switch.
Question do you guys know if Nintendo has an interrogation room?
That State of Play was a giant snoozefest of games I will never play, but Astro Bot looks fantastic.
Sony should be worried after the Xbox Showcase and Nintendo Direct.
I feel like Monster Hunter, or the weird dress-up game are the most noteworthy for Nintendo, as games they may want on their platform down the line.
The "weird dress up game" lol. I think that if Marvel Rivals is successful they'll snag that too.
Nintendo is always king, so much fun in their games ❤
Well said!
Is it just me or is there a weird bouncy echo on Kit?
Honestly if they just showed Astro bot I would have given it a solid B but with everything included it gets a D+. Unsure why live service dead horse is getting such a flogging.
I've been hoping for a full Astro Bot game for a while so I'm happy we're finally getting that! The State of Play was terrible besides that in my opinion. I'm not a big Monster Hunter guy.
This Nintendo Direct is going to be quite surprisingly good, especially for a system at its end. is what that State of Play is telling me! #LetsGo #JRPGs
Why would they?
Nintendo has absolutely zero to be afraid of when considering ps (or Xbox lol)
I’m only excited for two titles; Astro and Monster Hunter.
Nothing to worry about for Nintendo. They ain't doomed as well. I would like Monster Hunter Wilds to be on Switch 2 too.
Nintendo has nothing to worry about they are not the company laying off people and making games for last gen
Astro Bot was nice and fun... yes... very NOT-PLAYSTATION stuff
You know, I think to this point would tell a public spokeperson to just mention Mario Odyssey in some weird way looking for an excuse to just make people talk about it to counter Astrobot. And call it the day.
Maybe a nostalgy retrospective counting "months" for the switch 2 launch. Or idk, something snarky like that. But whatever, I don't have money so I can't say much to this. 😅
How many Nintendo games could you see in the Astroboy trailer? Current score is 24.
Nintendo worried?
I think Sony should worry about themselves it was dry nintendo has the opportunity to blow them out of the park…
Not really related to the topic, but I love the set design you have for your videos 😍
Nintendo is NOT worried at all.
Love your channel, but that was a very Clickbait title.
Well it made me go back and play astros playroom and it’s really fun, and looking forward to Astro bot. Other than MHW, there is absolutely nothing I care about.
Short answer: NO.
Sony's gonna be very worried about the June direct. How sad is it that we're year 3 and a half with these next gen power houses and they're trickling out a few games while Nintendo is on their 7th year with the Switch and there's still more. No more last years of N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U days were they only got 2 or 3 1st party games a year, then the new system comes out.
Astro Bot was the only good game Sony showed in my book. I hate how most of their interesting legacy IPs haven't seen the light of day in years. I don't get how their install base eat up basically the same few types of games for the last few console generations.
I wouldn't say AstroBot looks better than Mario Odyssey. But I would say that AstroBot looks better than Princess Peach Showtime.
I saw nothing in that state of play for Nintendo to be worried about
Indeed you didn't because your a fanboy and your response is going to prove it. :)
@@a.n.3284 I'm Not a fanboy I have a PS5, Xbox series S and a switch. I've never been into the console wars so calling me a fanboy does not mean anything. I'm just saying the state of play was nothing for Nintendo to worry about

Just a suggestion, is there a way to make the thumbnail of your Podcast episodes look different from other non-podcast clip. Cuz judging from the thumbnail alone, I couldn't tell which were the podcast ones. I went back and I was like: "Oh they didn't do the podcast for two months." Then I realized some of the thumbnails I thought was about one thing turns out was the entire podcast.
Lets be real Nintendo doesn't care. Sure technically maybe they keep an eye in the competition but I don't think they really have any concern.
I just want Tomodachi Life Port 🥲
wait there was a state of play?? Sony needs to promote this more, I follow sony's channels and didn't know
c'mon.. you just out of loop.. everyone know when State of Play or Nintendo Direct around the corner..
Astrobot looks cool but is not a console seller
Really, they shouldn't be worried.
Yes, I am sure that Nintendo is terrified that Astro Boy will overtake Mario.
Nintendo is not worried about about anything it’s Nintendo
Lets hope Nintendo’s direct will be better.
If I were Nintendo I would be ready to announce switch 2 ASAP
No.
Nintendo likes to play the long game if PlayStation keeps making games like Astrobot, then is something to worry about. Monster hunter is also indicator, The other games they don’t care about. Those games appeal to Japan more.
Sony set the bar so low that Microsoft and Nintendo can clear it no problem. Personally, I think Nintendo might come out on top out of the big 3, with Microsoft in second.
Astro Bot looks great, not interested in anything else.
More like Nintendo is laughing at what Sony and Xbox are doing :-)
I do have to wonder if the PlayStation market even cares for Astrobot. The free one left me satisfied but I’ll pick it up.
Lots of people who watched the SoP are hyped for that.
@@tomsimmons7673But those "online voices" are a minority. Sony's actual audience are casual 25-something players who only buy the latest FIFA or Madden, that will buy GTA, and might buy the latest PS AAA sad-dad walking simulator because everyone is also getting it.
The times when PS audiences were people who were into JRPG or quirky mascot platformers are long dead.
@@tomsimmons7673 yea but hype doesn’t equal sales
Nintendo worried😂😂😂😂😂
Nice joke
Yes an isider told their worried about switch 2. It's already outdated 2 years ago. :/
Outside of Astro Bot, the state of play was lame imo.
Short answer no
Long answer noooooooooooooooooo
Imagine being worried about Astrobot and that heroe shooter game😂😂😂 Sony are more worried after their own showcase.
Nope, they have 0 reason to be worried in the slightest. Nintendo's strategy of marching to the beat of their own drum has done them very well this generation.
Nintendo just watching Sony and Microsoft burn their own houses to the ground at this point.
Why would Nintendo be worried? Because of Astro? Naw 😂
Probably laughing
Litteraly if a 3D mario was announced tomorrow this would be brown INTIRELY out of the water so...no not worries at all💀
i don't think nintendo worry about anything from playstation or xbox those two are crumbling 🙃
Short answer: no.
Long answer: ROFL no.
There was a state of play? 😂
Nintendo is in big trouble!
I will say that one State of Play announcement has basically solidified I will buy a PS5 at some point: Monster Hunter Wilds. Granted, I am still grtting a SuperSwitch 2 or whatever it will be called and will probably play more games on it in general. But Monster Hunter is a must-have
my favorite part of the state of play video is "coming to pc" 😂🎉
Fast answer. No
They have no reason to be, that state of play wasn’t impressive
For me Mario lost his magic when Super Mario Sunshine released. From that point on all those Mario games looked tired, old and bland. The old hardware Nintendo uses, didn't help either. I thought I was too old for that kind of game. But when a few years ago Astro Bot Rescue Mission released I felt the magic again. Yesterday when they showed Astro Bot... I felt that warm feeling again. Nintendo should be carefull. Every time they're succesfull, they become arrogant and make awful decisions. Look at Tears of the Kingdom. Everything was the same. The graphics, the sound, the map. It was like playing botw all over again. Their online membership is a joke. I gladly would pay more for more content. Why can't I buy each game individuallly? On the WII I could. I hope the Switch 2 will be a decent powerfull console. I hope it equals the Z1 Extreme apu wich is
used in the Asus Rog Ally/Legion Go.But I know it's not going to happen because it's to expensive for Nintendo because they want maxium profit. They want to sell old hardware at premium prices. What's going to happen? They'll use an old apu and will underclock it significantly for a longer batteryspan. Using a bigger battery? Nooo that's too expensive. At the end of the day it'll cost something around 450 bucks. Ridiculous. Maybe Nintendo will get away with this next time but they won't for a third time. They're more handhelds now wich are way more powerfull. Nintendo should be very carefully.
Cool to hear this perspective!
Nintendo Worried About what???!?!?! 🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣 Astro Kid??? 🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣
Embarrassing vid title tbh. Don’t scoop to that level.
The ABSOLUTE STATE of play.
For a non Playstation guy the presentation was only good because of Monster Hunter😅
