Hello! In a very special episode of Super Kit & Krysta 64, Kit is taking you around Seoul, South Korea to discover what the gaming scene is like. South Korea has such an interesting history with video games especially with eSports and essentially making eSports into what we know now. While that moment has come and gone, South Korea still has a rich gaming history and now with studios making games like Stellar Blade, it feels like this country is entering into a new gaming era. So let's discover what video games is actually like in Korea. Hope you enjoy the video!

Is it his wife?
His wife? Lol
I heard a man's voice reacting
im sure Kyt has a lovely family
@@jamesbueno884 I don't know. But you can perfectly have a lovely family with a man being a man. 🤷🏻♂️
The buff piplup and pikachu took me out 😂😂
But i love it
Finally getting around to watching this after a month in my Watch Later list. Great vlog, Kit!
We've been to that Nintendo store at the mall too! I was surprised cause I didn't recall an official Nintendo store in Seoul, but it's an amazing place for games. Studio Ghibli & Gunpla stores too.
That buff Pikachu wrestling buff Pipalup got me cracking up in the end.
I really enjoy you guys doing travel videos and exploring gaming culture in other countries: I know people complain about gaming going mainstream, but it's nice to know that the culture has expanded this much 🤩
Anyone who has a problem with gaming going mainstream is super nerdy.
But Seoul in South Korea is far away from Texas, USA. That’s gonna take 3 or more days to get there.
Really enjoyed this! I'm always excited to watch a new travel vlog. 😄 The Nintendo Store there looks great!
Such a great vid, loved the tour. That Nintendo section in the mall was super cool, I wanted all the mini Kirby erasers!!
Video Game Alley is literally right next to Yongsan Station and the I Park Mall where the Nintendo store is. It's not too hard to find. Also you can haggle prices or have an R4 card installed onto your 3ds for a great price.
They have some great stuff there. Glad you find everything and I hope you had a fun trip.
Thanks for stating the name of the mall. Good to know for the future. :)
1:04 Made my heart seeing San Francisco Shock representation 🧡.
Glad your South Korea trip went well. After making South Korean friends over the years-I am looking forward to visiting some day.
Ive only seen their cafés and their Esports representation over the years. It is fun to see the console gaming side of their gaming culture too.
Great video about the gaming life in Seoul. I lived in South Korea for many years and I was lucky enough to visit all of those places (and more). So many good memories.
I’m gonna be visiting South Korea soon, so this is fun to watch
Wow, that Nintendo store looks awesome! I always love watching your vlogs🤩
I like how Kits gut reaction to the erasers was to sniff before saying not to eat them lol. Also, where is all NES championship promos you mentioned was everywhere? Was half expecting to see it here!
Glad your trip was fun and safe! (Besides the tumble, hope your arn is better! And of course, hope Krystas knee is better as well!)
Awesome video! Im always intrigued by the gaming cultures you guys visit in other countries. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Also, looking good Kit! That haircut really suits you. 😁
I can't get over how good Kit looks with his new haircut!
Daddy
the timing of this couldn’t be any better 😆 i’ll be in seoul by the time echoes of wisdom comes out so i really want to stop by the nintendo store to pick up a copy on release day, as well as learn a bit abt the gaming scene in korea! thank you 🥳
sooo excited for that game!
Super glad that you were able to find Video Game Alley and that the directions I shared weren't too zany for you! Awesome that you were able to find that random Nintendo locale too!
I'm so happy you guys like doing this too. When I travel abroad one of my favorite things is to go into local game stores and see what kind of neat things they have. Thanks for sharing.
I was really looking forward to this video. It lived up to my own hype hehehe
amazing video!! Can't wait to go there myself!
@6:55 never seen such a thick magazine. It would blow my mind if we had something like this.
Yeah, you'd think it was a game guide by how thick it is.
@@cassiodvieira in 2000s when some video game magazines became thicker (200+ pages) I was so happy, because it was my only window into video games and I reread tham so many times. If only I had magazines as thick as Korean Gamer'z... But it should be pricey...
The reason for thick magazines is the lot of games weren't localized in Korea back in the days. So lot of these magazines had translations printed out for readers to use for their games.
@@highwind81full translation of the game? It is like read along while playing?
3:17 Seeing the Pyra and Mythra amiibos breaks my heart because I can't find them anywhere here in the States.
That mall looked so cool! Wish the video game stores in my city were anything like that
A word of warning for those who look for games when here in Korea, especially for the Switch. First party games often have English, but you're gambling more with other publishers because the Korean version of many games is the Korea/China version so there may not be English on the cartridge. It's important to check before you buy! The Switch is region-free so your cartridge will play but it may not have the same languages available in other regions.
If you're looking at PlayStation games, it's a similar story but it may have English audio but Korean/Chinese subtitles/text. DLC for PS almost always is region-locked from my experience.
I know this is a Nintendo focused channel but I'm a little surprised after mentioning Starcraft and League in the beginning there wasn't any mention or visit of a PC bang
ohhh the spice gamecube stash! Thanks for the tour!
Great vlog! Im outtong down as a wishlist of things to do in South Korea. All of those unique Nintendo gameprints jn different languages. When the games used to come with guides and manuals in the disc cases
kwon eunbi making the cut in this vid for the freaking cat game at the end loool
who's this new hire???
also, are you sure that's not an official Nintendo store? they got the logo behind the counter
Back before 2020 console games in S.K. suck. They really didn't have much and was over priced. They are mostly interested in mobile or pc gaming and modding consoles.
That yellowed super famicom was definitely in the house of a smoker.
Always love the travel blogs. Great job!
I’ve been in south Korea for a year now and console gaming is not that big out there so I’m really surprised they have a store like this out there! I’ll be back out there in August so I’ll have to check this place out!
This look like a great video
My wife was born in Korea, she was just there earlier this year.. I've learned a little korean and want to learn more and go to seoul some day with her. 🙂
That Nintendo store looks so cool.
Love this video ♥
dang lots of amiibos.
Edit: my kids would go ham in pretty much all of those stores
😆
Stellar blade released a while ago now so that's possibly why you didn't see any promotional material for it.
Who's holding the camera?
love it
Who was working your camera? lol. Good stuff tho. Gonna keep watching
pretty sure he's married, though neither him nor krysta ever talk about their personal lives for some reason
6:55 shen from kof spotted
The "Only use for Korean Nintendo 3DS system" warning is there because every 3DS on Earth is region locked by Nintendo and can only play 3DS games in their region unlike the Switch, DS, GBA, and GB
It's a shame the Nintendo store at COEX closed a few years back. It was pretty awesome.
$140 Famicoms!? You can get one for $10 at a HardOff in Japan.
Seoul is far away!!
I think a game like Stellar Blade is more important to western market for a certain demographic given the shift in gaming culture, whereas in Korea... it's just like whatever, another one of those type of games because they have so much of that in general, plus its months old
Why you seem to go to South Korea each year ? Have you some family over there ? I'm just curious ahah.
When did he go before?
@@sirmel11 Finally I think that it was Taiwan (last year). Not South Korea.
Who was recording?
His wife.
Time to move to Korea 🇰🇷
NEOGEO aes games 🤩
11:25 Forbidden gummies! 🤤
if video games didnt exist what would ur hobby be?
Love the channel but it Really rubs me the wrong way that they were asking money for Japan. They leave the country more times in one year than most people would in three life times.
Oof, fair criticism though. I imagine family vacations are fine to spend money on. But the trip to Japan was going to be content focused. I'm guesssing the channel money is enough to get by but not enough to travel just for fun.
Kit is so handsome and adorable. Is he single? Is he into men? Ummmmm.........asking for a friend........
I wish you had panned over all the Animal Crossing stuffies! 😩
