I think I’m probably in the top few % of poke investors and I totally echo your points here. I used to get hung up on the small details but not anymore. I just order cases of every set from the same supplier every pre release. Sure, I could get them a little cheaper elsewhere but it won’t matter in the long term.
I'm curious if I should get a 151 booster bundle display sealed. Currently around 470 but I can see them potentially rising in value. Edit: i bought it. 466 and some change
a wise man once said "scared money don't make no money!!!" couldn't agree more with your message. When I ordered my first Lost Origin case, I got it for 600. I was terrified, because at the time I had never bought a case of booster boxes or made a purchase that big in Pokemon. Now, ordering a case isn't as intimidating, as long as I feel I am getting close to the bottom. Super excited for the next few years to see how some of my previous investments will play out, while consistently acquiring new investments. The wheels are officially churning! Thanks for all the help!
Most likely the reason why people who freak out on a few hundred bucks drop because they used money that was needed for something important; mortgage, credit card payment, grocery money, baby needs, etc. We can’t dictate the top nor the bottom and the one thing we can control is risk. We need to manage risk to be successful in financial markets, and same goes with Pokémon investment. How we manage risk? Due diligence. We need to do our homework and when we are comfortable, the worries tends to be less or out the window completely.
I feel like youre my pokemon investing pastor. Always saying the right words when i need to hear it most 😂😂 great video as always man. Keep up the great work
The fact I'm seeing over 100% returns on my Pokemon Go collection boxes on my Tiktok store clearly gives me an indication that if you hold things long enough with the right mentality it's very hard too loose money over the long term. As rightly stated its all about the mindset 😊
Also, buying in the $90's and the $80's per box is only really good if you are buying a ton of product. My guess is most people are like me and buy about a case of each set. So at most, you've saved $60 to $80.
This was extremely sound advice, I've recently got into the TCG hobby - but the entire time I was listening, I was mostly thinking of the stock market.
Great video. Love the perspective. It really makes it easier to decide on making a play when you think about putting it into dollar amounts. If you are worried about a few dollars you really need to stop this and find something else
Funny truths, people seriously shouldn’t be worried about 1 or 2 boxes worth in losses, if it was that much stress in your life, you really shouldn’t be buying , let alone be investing into pokemon. I have a problem that I rip open my sealed collection before I can see the gains, but I’m a collector and look to have fun with my collection. (Not saying I’m being smart with my money) but if you plan to sell your house to invest into pokemon… I’d suggest you take a moment and reflect and see your way to the exit.
There's almost no risk if you buy booster boxes for around $100 or less. Even if it goes down to $80 or never goes up you can always break it open and sell individual packs for $4 each.
It’s funny how people on the internet rather want to copy everything you say rather than to implement it in their own situations, as I hear most of the negative comments are because of this 😅 great video again btw!
I got 100 boxes of 151 poster collection on Walmart today at 14.62 a box -thats about 4.87 a pack. And yes you can only buy 12 at a time but no limit on how many orders-also shipping is free over 95 dollars. I can't wait to stack them all up and stare at them for 5 years😂😂
I have also learned that it's damn near impossible to lose on sealed product-as long as you buy near the beginning/bottom nothing loses-the only 2 I can think of that have been actual trash are darkness ablaze and shrouded fable-besides that nearly everything has gone up-some a little some alot but nothing down below release price.
