- Mintion Beagleprint Monitors your 3D printer, mostly.
Pre-Order VLMP now: vector3d.co.uk...
Mintion provided the beagleprint free of charge for me to make a review.
According to Mintion the Beagleprint is a Plug and Play camera, that allows you to monitor and control your printer remotely while also making it easier to create time-lapse videos.

Literally laughed my ass off watching and listening to you 🤣 underrated video !!!!
The only good thing that's come from this is how funny your video is, great work Adam, lol.
I suspect the camera is a repurposed - failed? - baby monitor. That would explain the dog motif, the microphone, the speaker, and the night vision mode.
i bet u are correct
I got one. And I haven't done a video for it because, while I did get it connected to the wifi through the app, that did work for me, I don't own any of the limited printers that it works with, something they failed to disclose before sending me one. So now I've got a baby monitor... and no baby.
Well can you really have enough children?
11:55 make the settings for retraction in Beagle match your slicer... no more blobs.
This is the best review of anything i have ever seen!
Setup worked for me on this thing but neither of the printers (both on the compatibility list!) I tried it on worked, in fact it failed catastrophically with both of them. I haven't had time to progress it any further, as soon as the printers that were supposed to work wouldn't, and when I queried this, I was told to try an ender 3 v2, I had to focus (pun intended) elsewhere. As you say, we aren't testers. If it doesn't work with the printers on the official compatibility list then that's....a problem.
Even though the camera quality is not the best, I really liked the beagle. I have no time to setup an octoprint and everything and personally, I didn't have any issues with my prints or the setup. The timelapse feature actually worked great and the main thing I wanted it for was to monitor my prints while I was away. Again, I'm using a printer that was on the compatibles list. Maybe I was lucky mine worked.
::Successfully connected to the Wi-Fi::
I think this started out life as a baby monitor, no built-in mount option for a 3D printer.
They look great under studio lighting but under normal house lighting, it's very bad quality video.
I bought some Orange Pi Zero 2's for just £21 and got a handful of USB webcams from my local Freecycle to set up some more Octoprints, a much cheaper and better option.
Some reviewers have waxed lyrical about this product, I had to check the calendar! I made my opinion known and was told it was a great product LOL, seriously check out some of the reviews of this product, some very dodgy reviews!
Was thinking the same thing, this must be just a white label product destined to another market.
they sent me one of these to review and my experiences arent too far off f yours. the most batshit bit I think is the focusing mechanism, you have to physically disassemble it to refocus the camera, insane. I appreciate what they were trying to do, but I also had major power issues. no USB-C to USB-C cable I used worked, most of my plugs didn't work, and if I couldn't find the included plug I had to use a battery bank. underbaked is a very kinda term for this. i mean, the first 3 prints I did have corrupted timelapses and for a whole version of the firmware the camera only appeared in the app the web portal only had a black screen
Did you write a review for it?
@@Rushmere3D i havent yet
I'm really glad you didn't try to do more takes with a straight face; the places where you break down laughing really make this video work. :D
Lol this is just a cheap IoT platform sold to OEMs to make wifi baby monitors. That’s why it looks like a dog. I admit it’s actually pretty clever to repurpose it into a 3d printer controller. It’s funny they reused some of the baby monitor marketing phasing though, like “color night mode.”
So basically a company in China somewhere stamps out camera with wifi boards by the container load, and firms like the one in the video buy the board. add a few extras and ship it out with a new label.
Your laughter is contagious. Great video!
This is the best thing I've seen in ages. Thanks. Thumbs up!
I returned mine before seeing this video, but this review is pretty spot on. If you like Octoprint, but would prefer a version of it's UI with LESS options, NO plugins, no ability to send gcode directly to your printer, and a less configurable version of Octolapse, then the Beagle is for you 😁
He having the best day of his life just by reviewing this thing. XD
I be,I’ve the Beagle they are going for is Snoopy. It does king of look like him in a plastic kind of way. Thanks for the honest review.
This is a horrid device 🤣
Beagles are hilarious and very very greedy! Haha this is a fun video! So you liked it? Lol
sounds like one would be better off buying a thin client PC off Ebay, Installing Linux and running Octoprint off that along with a Logitech webcam. At least until the pi shortage is resolved.
Honestly I am surprised that Logitech has not entered this realm of products, their C920 webcam is one of the defacto standards for 3D Printing cameras. Seems like they could have an interesting niche product if they worked with Octoprint project and made a device that contained a small bit of computery bits to handle the octo stuff and then the imaging hardware from the C920. toss in a standard camera tripod mount screw hole in the bottom and they would have a popular product.
The web interface looks SO LIKE OctoPrint that I can’t for a second believe it isn’t a rip-off… “Closed Source” because folks would spot the license infringement from a mile away otherwise.
I thought it was easy to set up, a few hiccups, but not as difficult as you make it seem. Don't believe everything you see on the internet. This is your opion and this is mine. Have a nice day :)
Thank you for the review! Almost ordered it without seeing the quality :O
So you have to take the thing apart to focus it? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Someone should lose their job for that level of stupidity!
I take it you will be buying a few hundred….
On the plus side it made you laugh.
A lot.
Many of Adam's videos feature subtle humor - like a box marked "sticky stuff" - and this video is laugh out loud funny. But if you haven't seen it, you must immediately go watch his "Original Prusa Mini - Honest Rhyming Review".
Looks like one of the crabiest company out there.
soooo....i should NOT buy it?? 😁😂
I thought this was a tacky channel when he tried to sell a calibration print. But laughing at this ridiculous beagle.... thank you. You redeemed yourself. "The lens is somehow distorrted without it actually being a wide angle lens" ...why did so many UA-camrs fall for this and try to sell it? Even our more respected reviewers. "The microphone is a surprise" ...as worst its literally recording you. hahahahahahahahhahahaa...... @zack
what happened to the comments from the manufacturer/supplier? If they can't stand the heat, they should get out of the kitchen.
Oh, if they're gone they probably removed them themselves. I didn't.
@@Vector3DP I guess they didn't like an honest review, and my comment that I've never known a Chinese company to admit they make mistakes.
Sounds like a prank gift sent from a subscriber.
Maybe somewhere there is an engineer suffering major butt hurt from this review, but this thing sounds like a failed rough draft for a senior project in high school
This gave me a good laugh!
crazy price, for this money can buy few logitechs or 4pcs babymonitor - smart webcam with wifi, tuya etc
Oh, my side hurts from laughing so hard. Thanks, Adam for the fun, video.
Watched it for third time, so amusing, worth buying this for the amusement it created.
I love your video. Amazing colour night mode. 🤣🤣🤣
That really gave me a laugh and will definitely give it a miss. Serious question, if you open up the unit to focus the camera, would this void the warranty?
Haha, that would be even better to put a warranty void sticker over the screws.
Warranty void stickers have no basis in law in the majority of countries
Great product. Send me the 10 ones, please.
They've sent me one too. I thought I'd check out a few other reviews before opening the box. Now I'm not sure I should bother. Thanks for your genuinly honest review 👍
I love that there are no second takes when you can't make it thru reading your script. Had me in stitches right along with you!
Thanks so much for the review was about to get one before this video, I’m sad voidstar labs would promote them to his audience without testing the product
Very entertaining video! Lol!
your review is wonderful. i woulda thrown that thing in the garbage so fast lol.
Thank you for your review,👍👍 I had considered buying one, but I think I will give it a miss as others have said..... it looks to be some sort of modified nanny cam rather than a custom-built printing/ camera solution...
I have two of them and experienced multiple problems. Having 2 was good for troubleshooting because it let me know that it was something with the cameras themselves and not with me or my network. I started to feel uncomfortable with their customer support when they began telling me that to access the camera web interface I would need to disable my firewalls and send them a screenshot of the camera information including IP address. I will say their customer support did answer quickly and often with all kinds of the "basic solutions", resetting, flush dns, clear cache, ip renew/release, etc etc...none of which solved the browser access problem. Even from another PC on my same network, with my ROUTER firewall and all PC firewalls down, I have never been able to access the web interface

For the price of this Camera, there are many other SBCs who can run octopi/klipper and add a USB camera
It’s sad but I found this video so amusing I watched it twice.
So far.
Chances are I’ll watch it again.
It’s an ideal video camera for a blind person.
Hey I have an IR camera + ir led's and it's really handy! Turns the ir off when it detects light otherwise I get a nice consistent view without having to leave the light bar on all the time.
