It's like this woman doesn't understand the most basic fact: being vegan is a classism issue in the United States above all else. People well below the poverty line need to survive, which means the most calories per dollar. Veganism in the US doesn't support that model. Fruits, veggies and non processed foods are more here than anywhere else. Whereas junk food and fast food are dirt cheap. She's just promoting a lifestyle that's unrealistic for a majority of Americans

Exactly. I don't eat meat and I live in a country where vegetables and fruits are abundant and cheap. But what you said is still a very valid reason, even in my country. If someone has low income or needs to provide for a lot of people, etc., and they're working constantly how are they going to afford AND find time to cook healthy food? She’s absolutely right. There’s many areas in the US called “food deserts” where there’s no access to fresh produce within a certain mile radius. These often urban/metro areas have more fast food places than supermarkets or farms. They also tend to have people who can only afford to live within these deserts.
That combined with privatized healthcare leads to people with little to no income being forced to eat cheap, unhealthy foods, yet also pay for the side effects they have on their health.
A capitalist society needs people who can’t afford to move up to keep the hierarchy. It needs a scapegoat (i.e. any of our minority classes) they’re willing to let (or even force to) die to maintain order, and more importantly, power.
She stayed at a hippie camp I worked at, she's exactly the same in person. Her husband had a shirt that said "Yes, men can be vegan too." They brought their own vegan chairs and sang vegan campfire songs. I have just learned the internet hates her as much as I did and I am so happy

The fact that she constantly claims she “supports lgbtq” but then pulls the most anti-lgbt shit just because the community isn’t comfortable around her. Being trans my heart dropped seeing how many agreed with her horrible sentiments, in real life I was accused by several people to be apart of Nashville just on the basis of the shooter being trans like me. As well as using such old videos like the Karen one. It honestly hurts, it just hurts how it feels like everyone wants you gone.
There are disabled people who are literally incapable of being vegan. So I really think we should be cautious of saying it's morally superior because it's really not an option for a lot of people for a multitude of reasons. Also it's not just that vegan teacher is a 'bad vegan' her followers are equally as problematic. This video was great though, these were just my thoughts on it✨

I have many points I could bring up as to why being vegan is not at all anymore moral than eating meat, but I'm not going to cause that's dwelling into my personal beliefs territory. What you said is very right though. Some people literally _cannot_ be vegan, and it's not right to act like you are more moral because you can do something they can't.
Yeah. I have a chronic condition which causes allergies that don't show up on tests, due to the allergic response being belated, with some times when the response happens the day after I at the food. So, I gotta guess what I'm allergic to by taking out the last food I ate before the response. So far, it's been apples, pears, cherries, bananas, green beans, and something in a chicken sandwich. What's the majority of those foods? Fruits and veggies. The minority (and possibly not even the problem, considering all the ingredients in it)? Meat. Ever since I've taken those foods out, I've been pretty alright. I could count spicy foods, since they can irritate my throat and cause a reaction, but I can still eat mild stuff so idk if it is an allergy or irritation. I, at this point, basically need to eat meat in order to try to get the nutrients from the fruits and veggies I physically can't eat without having a horrible reaction. It's also just really expensive for my family to be able to get fruits and vegetables to eat, since we live in a low income area of the USA.
I have gastroparesis and a lot of fruitand most vegetables I can't eat, so I have to eat a lot of dairy and meat. So in her opinion I should just die I guess

I have the messages proving 2 yrs ago and on that she knew all about it when I reached out to her. Asking her to do something about her fan base. I have videos about all this on my channel here. All I've done is do commentary on her and did what a normal UA-camr does. But because I'm a smaller creator getting no attention, they think it's ok to attack me. I talked about the Kriss stuff over a yr ago myself and that was what kicked up the harassment more from her followers. I can't even stream with my friends playing minecraft every Fri like I used to because those ppl come into the comments and say abhorrent things. Like telling me to tell them about my own SA because "Someone they can't say wants to know." I have a screenshot of that exact comment. One of hundreds. She knew my life was put in danger by her own youtube mods, and all she did was telling me to be vegan and "Google dairy is scary" I have that one too. Stuff like this is why I left the vegan community and will never go back. In vegan communities, I saw comparing meat eaters to the KKK, making light of the Holocaust, comparing eating meat to domestic violence, and much more. Also things like delighting in horrific things like cancer happening to meat eaters, etc. These people and posts were very common - I don't think TVT as much of an outlier. All by people who claim they hold the moral high ground.
As someone with the same nickname and as a SA victim, listening to that first bit kind of makes me dissociate in the most unpleasant way. It's so horribly twisted for someone to stoop so low like that, and on a public platform of all places. Cannot imagine how awful that must've been for kallmekris to see.

As an SA survivor, this makes me livid. It is absolutely despicable to use probably the most traumatic thing that happened to someone to bolster your cause. And then to turn around and say that it probably didn't happen?!? This lady is crazy and I worry for the children she teaches.
I'm always torn between holding people accountable for their shitty behavior and not talking about them and hoping they just go away because we know they like the attention.

im a vegan substitute teacher and this is why i don’t tell my highschoolers that i’m vegan. i will lie and tell them i’m a vegetarian with a dairy allergy. just so i don’t get compared to this… person
edited to add: that I don't go around shoving it in ppls faces, sometimes my students will ask what I'm eating and I try to be as honest as possible with them. especially since I'm the only openly LGBT staff member there and I want to give them as much honesty as possible
another edit: it comes up a lot when students ask me why I don't eat the candy they give me and why I don't eat cafeteria food. also bc I'm severely gluten intolerant, and diabetic, so talks about my dietary restrictions come up a lot if I need to check my blood sugar in class :)
besides, I'm all for getting my students to do what makes them happy, and if that's butter, eggs and cheese, then I support them all the way, I just won't be eating it myself.

Here's the thing about the bathroom argument... It only seems to ever be applied in one direction.
Take me, for example. I'm a trans man. I have facial hair and a deep voice, sure, but biologically I am female. I've never had any issues using the men's bathroom, but I know if I tried to use a women's bathroom (which by their logic is what I "should" be using) there'd be problems. It's strange to me that these people only seem to apply this towards MtF people, at least from my own experiences.
Long story short though... Believe it or not, trans people go into bathrooms in order to use the bathroom. Just let us piss in peace like everyone else.

As a member of the lgbtq+ I strongly believe (in my opinion) that if u don't support the entire lgbtq+ community then u can't claim to be a supporter of them because you can't just remove apart of the group & only support parts of it while either directly or indirectly trying to continue or increase the oppression of other parts of the community
Then split that group up. It is crazy to try to group that many people with so many differing beliefs and ideologies together. Gay and lesbian should be one category. Nonbinary should be another. Trans should be another. Because these groups CAN'T be put together, they inherently contradict each other. It is one of the reasons so many people in these groups are turning against the LGBT+ as a movement and don't want to be considered part of LGBT even if they are gay or trans or such.

Yes, the LGBTQ+ community will not always agree with itself, whether it’s individuals or specific groups, but that’s not really the point. A community is about being able to relate and take comfort with the people in it. Having the same gender identity or sexuality helps, but as long as someone’s willing to listen and really tries to understand, they can be a source of support.

So I volunteer at a LGBTQ+ center in my city and recently a TikTok of ours talking about how we give out gender affirming products like binders and padding for bras was circulating through right wing circles and we got so many hate calls saying that we were harming people’s children 🙄. Like we just offer gender affirming products and group activities for people of all ages who might not have a supportive space otherwise, we don’t do surgery or give prescriptions for testosterone like they were claiming

Or how there's long ass wait lists for surgeries (The surgeon in my state has a two year long wait list. And this is just for top surgery).

Was a vegan for the last few months. my iron level went from low(which is why i am on meds to stop my period) but not worrying low to single digits. My dr told me to eat red meat as much as my body will tolerate it and in the meantime i will get a call about an iron infusion. Some people just cannot be vegan, hubby has told me that my mood has improved since i started eating meat again so thats something too. as an SA survivor, saying "most of us go through SA" as a way to be like "get over it" is so fucked up. because yes, most assigned female at birth people go through some form of sexual assault or harassment, and thats horrible, and so we need to fix the system that allows for that, not get over it. she makes me sick.
