This is beyond brilliant! I'm so impressed with how you figured out how to make each of the chairs. They're so unique. The amount of details you captured on the first chair are so impressive. I tried to guess how you did it and I was way off 😆 The fabric choices are perfect. I love how you aged the leather chair and covered up the cut edges. The removable cushions are so clever. Thank you so much for doing this Collab! It was such a joy.
Yes, TiffSniffer from Etsy made the little afghan specifically for the Fairfield in 1970s colors. Normally you'd never tell how much a gift cost, but it was only $15, including shipping from Canada. She was very responsive and mailed it to me within days of our first contact.
Thank you my friend! I was way off on my guesses on how you made things too lol! I am so so happy you liked them😊 Wow that is such a low price for that beautifully hand crocheted piece! It will definitely be treasured in my build along with everything you made! Thanks again for doing this collab, I still cannot believe how many things you made!🤩
UA-cam recommended your channel. I don't craft minis, but thought this would be fun to watch. Fun and intriguing, you do a great job of explaining, camera work, audio...yeah I'll be back.
THIS VIDEO WAS WONDERFUL!!!! I LOVE THAT YOU SHOWED YOUR MULTIPLE VERSIONS OF YOUR CHAIR PROCESS! EXCELLENT RESULT ON BOTH! TRULY LOVED GIFTS YOU RECEIVED FOR FAIRFIELD! QUEEN CITY MINIS IS AWESOME CHANNEL! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS! ❤ I'M SMILING SO BIG!!!❤️❤❤❤😃😃😃😃😃!
Your comment has me smiling so big Gretchen!! I am so glad you enjoyed the video and the making of the chairs❤ Shyra's hand made minis will be so incredibly treasured in the Fairfield!!
@@BentleyHouseMinis YRS EVERYTHING SHE MADE WAS AMAZING! YOU BOTH ARE AMAZING ARTISTS!!! I JUST LOVE THE COMMUNITY HERE IN THE UA-cam MINIATURE WORLD! IT'S WONDERFUL 😊💖❤️💖
Just amazing! Years ago when I was a kid, a neighbor lady had a whole wall of miniatures. No houses, just furniture and accessories. Mrs. Meyer's had an amazing collection. Even a small flea circus. 😊
Two of the most talented miniature artists ever making stuff for each other's projects-what a treat for us to witness! Love it all. And thanks to both of you for showing us all how to make better minis ourselves. Couldn't imagine how long it would've taken me to get the basics down without your help.
❤❤ Aww thank you!!😊 I really love that we can share things with each other and this miniature community! Sharing techniques and ideas helps us all in this art form and makes it way more fun in my opinion. I can't tell you how much I have learned from the comments on my videos as well!
I absolutely LOVE your Hogwarts chairs. They came out looking fantastic !!! The cloth at the chair back & arms were called "antimacassars". Used in the Victoria & Edwardian eras to prevent the then popular macassar hair oil from ruining the upholstered fabric. How clever!
You can actually use acrylic paint diluted with fabric softener, to make paint that won't chip if the fabric moves. I have used this to paint t-shirts and it has worked wonderfully.
They are amazing! I want to be like you when I grow up! Great video, thank you for posting and doing this for Shyra! You two and Whitney LaBrie, OH! And Miss Gretchen! (I forgot them at first...) are my favorite miniaturists, by the way! 🥰❣
It must be great inspiration when you are at a standstill to get such a large collection of minis to get you excited about the project again! You've done an amazing job, Ara. Amazing.
❤❤❤ especially the magic carpet chair, I imagined Mrs Weasley donating her favorite chair to replace something one of her twins may have exploded lol. I love this
The fabric you used is crushed velvet. Since you kept saying "velvety fabric" it sounded like you weren't sure it's velvet. Just wanted to let you know
Both of those chairs are perfect! They look so comfy😁 Everything you received for the Fairfield are adorable. Your Fairfield looks farther along than I remember🥰 Can't wait to queencityminis video. Thanks for sharing.
Everything from both of you is stunning! Thank you so much Ara and queencityminis for the tremendous inspiration and, Ara, for sharing your techniques! I will watch Queen City Minis' video tomorrow! Lisa
The chairs are such a good match for the reference photos! They are both look ready for someone to snuggle in with a good book. 🥰 Thank you for including the first tries and the things that didn't go as planned. It's good to know that these things happen and how to move forward. 🙂
I always try to include the process as much as possible😊 Especially with chairs it can be hard to nail down the right shape the first time! I am so glad you like how they came out!
Had to comment again on Shyra’s contribution to the Fairfield! I subscribe to her channel too and the end tables she sent you are just like some my mom had in her den. They were made of maple and were exactly the same color. Shyra is an excellent miniaturist, just like you. I really enjoy watching you both and learn a lot💜💜💜
My grandmother had some of them too and I remember using the double shelf area as a little play house for my dolls. It's so fun what a warm memory these tables have for a lot of people! Thank you Sara😊
Oh my goodness! Ara! That is wonderful! You never cease to impress me. Your channel is so refreshing and educational. I love learning your process and learning from the things you've tried. You are a terrific resource! Warm wishes from Minnesota! ❤️❤️❤️ May your pencils always be sharp and your colors never bleed.
I just adore the notion that your skeleton family has so much greenery in their home!! You ad Shyra are both so clever! Thanks for sharing your process!
The chairs are brilliant! Thank you for all the new ideas and techniques for making such unique pieces. This was so much fun and I just loved seeing all the miniatures Shyra sent you in The Fairfield. She rocked it totally. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Thank you Rachael!! I was so wonderfully overwhelmed with all the pieces Shyra sent! They have definitely reignited my passion for seeing this 70's interior come together😊
You put so much work and thought into the chairs and you can really tell because they are immaculate. (I also like that you’re considering selling them as a kit since you put so much work into them and now you can share them.) I thought the first one would be too big but with mini Aira you can really see how perfect it is. I loved the little rug detail on it. I especially liked how you took care of the edges on the leather chair as well as the little nail heads all around the edge. The gifts you got fit perfectly into the 70s house. I never think of skeleton ghosts haunting a 70s era vibe lol. I loved this whole collaboration, and I know Queen City really admires you so it was surely a huge thrill and honor for her.
I thought the first chair was going to be too big too because it just kept bulking up more and more with each layer. Thankfully having a 1:12 scale figure helps so much to keep my eyes in check. It's definitely a big chunky chair but still kits in 1:12 rooms which I am so thankful for. It would have been tough to start over from scratch lol! Thank you so much, I am so glad you liked both parts of the collab 😊
OMG! Those half scales items are so stinkin cute! You and Shyra are a couple of my go-to’s for inspiration! Her stuff looks perfect in the Fairfield. And those chairs! Magnificent! They looks SO good! ❤ I LOVED this collab!
I love what Shyra made for you. I don’t know how she works on something that’s so small. Crazy. I have been watching her channel since you first mentioned her on your channel, probably about a year or two ago. You both are very talented. I love that you collaborate with other miniaturists. Fantastic job ladies.🤗🤗
That old leather chair was too perfect.. it looked just like the furniture in my great grandmother's house when I was a kid.. also that scarf is so beautiful
Always so inspiring. After I watch your videos I'm always itching to get making something. Thank you, Ara! The chairs are great, and the Fairfield is coming alive...except for the residents, of course...

Both of the chairs turned out SO good, and you had the perfect fabric. Loved watching the process of you going through making the chairs. All the trial and error, etc. I don't feel so crazy for doing stuff like that myself now. haha Loved all the items Shyra sent you for the Fairfield. Now I need to go watch her video.. Thanks for sharing, Ara. It was a lot of fun.
Wow! These chairs are beautiful. Pre 1970 in the UK, people would protect the areas of sofas/chairs that are likely to get greasy with cotton covers that could be boil washed, so seeing these areas of extra fabric are nothing new. However, this chair actually looks like the velvet has worn through with age and has been partially reupholstered to give a sturdy frame more use. I love your imaginative way of positioning the cushions on the leather club chair. Thanks for sharing the things that took a few attempts to get right ❤️❤️❤️
I just love the mini-you! She's so adorable ❤ If you want pillows to look more natural, you should try stuffing them with rice or sand. If the rice feels too chunky, just blitz them in a blender, so they get smaller.
Ayra you can buy fabric marker pens which would be ideal 😊 have you thought about airbrushing the grime on as gives good fade in or out 😊 and wow you two are amazing at minis ❤️ could you do a print out for the card chairs 😊
I have never air brushed on fabric before so I will definitely have to give that a try sometime. That will definitely up my grim-creating game lol! Thank you Karen!
Not only did you absolutely knock the project out of the park, but thank you for your shirt restock that gives love to us 1:6 scale miniaturists! I often feel so neglected because 1:12 scale is more popular and not too much comes in 1:6 scale. Though it sounds silly, I now feel seen.

A fantastic collaboration between two very talented miniaturist artist. The chairs are amazing and the tiny plants and accessories you received are incredible. What fun. 😊
The chairs look great! I love how you pieced together the forms of the base of the first, and you made the leather look so seamless in the end! Also, all the minis at the end are so detailed! Off to follow her as well!
This was so much fun to watch! The vinyl edges are an issue in bag making for me, and the fabric paint solution was a good one. In bag making we use edge coat but I’ve heard of some bag makers using Aleene’s Fabric Fusion mixed with a bit of acrylic paint as a cheap fix. Overall, just an amazing couple of chairs that you’ve created. And I think that the skeleton family might like to surround themselves with some living things like plants.❤
