I’ve been catching up on the past 3-4 years of tech trying to figure out what I want my new build to be (I currently have an i7-2600 in an old Optiplex and a 3GB 1060, with a 2060 on the way). I find that the 7000 series is worth the couple extra hundred dollars to have something more powerful and most definitely more future proof and upgradable.
@@darvengames I ended up building a system with a 5600x and I was going to order a 7800XT but decided against for economic reasons. However I’ve found through research that that combo is a great bang for your buck if you want new parts

Excellent video - exactly what I needed to see - with multiple angles, having destroyed a £300 MB somehow in the past I did not want to do it again - though if you could add a comment to the actual video that the paste comes on the fan that would have be excellent - read it in the comments. Also could you link a video pf why the fan is so rubbish?? But - thank you once again
Odin you think you can make a HDD vs SSD test like you did back then with Witcher3 for Baldurs Gate 3? Especially with the "Slow HDD Mode" settings ingame?
This is actually standard PBO behavior. It pumps as much power and ramps up the clocks until it reaches 95°C. To adjust this, lower the Platform Thermal Throttle Limit and PPT, EDC and TDC from the UEFI.
nice video, thank u, but with the stock cooler, the CPU temp is very high, always running around 70c . I recommend another cooler like cooler master, noctua, or a water cooling system.
You are getting amazing framerate in cyberpunk 2077 Which gpu are you using? I get around 65-70fps with a 3070 fe on 1440p res and raytracing set to medium.
@OdinHardware Lower the PTTL (Platform Thermal Throttle Limit) and activate ECO mode (or manual lower PPT, EDC and TDC) instead. Then PBO will not misbehave.
@@picasso8253 funny that just built a Pc yesterday tried the stock cooler. Played Control for couple of hours and elden ring as well and with the stock cooler I didn't go over 65 degrees lmao
Depends on room temp and case ventilation and motherboard vcore default value and finally the cooler with Stock cooler idle will be around 50 deg and room temp is 30 deg

Yes definitely worth for its performance but this new 7000 series has some high thermals and undervolting is needed
Upgrade GPU

If u get and CPU i think u need am4 socket or am5 😊
Hey thanks for this vid man! Thinking about getting this CPU, and honestly because it comes with a cooler as the x version doesnt
This CPU is great for gaming and other tasks too
Mind stock cooler is not sufficient
Hey i have a question? No thermal paste? Does the cooler come with it attached on the pad. And thank you your video helped alot.
This cooler does come with it pre-applied
Yes it does. Thermal paste is pre applied
my favourite part of pc building 3:08
any better but low profile cpu cooler for this ?
Imagine using this cooler 😂🤯
🤣🤣

Thanks for the comment.
I think I have mentioned about the paste in the video.
7600 runs at higher clock speeds so stock stealth cooler is not enough
If ur getting this cpu i’d recommend getting an aftermarket cooler
Yes , Stock stealth is not sufficient for this 7000 cpu

You mean this video "ua-cam.com/video/ScOarcLF5U0/v-deo.html" ?
Slow HDD mode ? where it is in the option menu ?
@@OdinHardware yes, under settings > video and there is a "slow HDD Mode" option

I used rx 6800 xt . cyberpunk with rtx off
it didn't come with thermal paste?
nvm, read the other comment
Yes
Using same cpu. Extremely hot even with a ag500 cpu cooler.
Yes, I suspect cpu surface not in perfect contact with the cooler or am5 socket has some flaw
Im getting 60-70 degrees full load in 5.1ghz with an Cm aio
In which games n graphics?
My future cpu, but still the am5 platform is a bit expensive. Do you think it's overkill for rtx 3060 12gb? I'm pairing it with my r5 5600.
Not worth for 3060
Very good video I have seen so far❤
Thank you! 🙂
Is the stock cooler enough?
Not enough. Undervolting might help
@OdinHardware Lower the PTTL (Platform Thermal Throttle Limit) and activate ECO mode (or manual lower PPT, EDC and TDC) instead. Then PBO will not misbehave.

you didnt see the cpu hit 95 degrees??

yes its not enough for this cpu. but you can undervolt the cpu and manage with stock fan

finally a ryzen 7000 that comes with a heatsink
