Video is the BEST way to remember family members and precious moments in our lives, but not if the footage is shaky, nauseating our out of focus! The key to filming GREAT family videos (in the kitchen or not!) is getting really good at handheld shooting. Often we find ourselves in tight places, on the go, or traveling and I never want you to miss a moment because you were fiddling with gear. Love your tips, love your background music and your minimalist setting. I've made more than 350 clips for my agriculture business. your tips in my next film :) My primary challenge with making family films is that that my family have zero interest (none) in film/video. The subjects are not willing participating subjects. 9/10 people have zero clue about the long term (10+ years) effect of a film. My (wife's) family members thought of me as annoying with my filming everywhere. None however seem to be interested in participating. In 2030 they might appreciate the film and laugh about how 'young' they where, or tween kids now adults might laugh at how young there where. They all seem have a misperception that a video on UA-cam is immediately displayed to billions of people, or that they are fat.
