I adore Natasha Lyonne so much. Despite being famous for most of her life she still just drips a down to earth energy from every pore. Russian Doll was INCREDIBLE but I’m also really enjoying Poker Face too.

Hey Emma you ever seen the film Wind River? Saw it this past month and man its was so good. It's a dark moody crime thriller/mystery that takes place in the dead of winter on a indian reservation in Wyoming. Super good film would highly recommend :D

1. MARLOWE (2023, w/Liam Neeson) - score 9/10. A private eye mystery with Liam Neeson as Philip Marlowe. Read the book before I saw the film, both are great.
2. KNOCK AT THE CABIN (2023) - score 7/10. I thought it was good and very well-acted.
3. BERZERK (1967, w/Joan Crawford) - score 7/10. A murder mystery set in a travelling circus. Lots of suspects and weird characters.

As a Mexican I'm sooo happy you reviewed Huesera! 🥺 I actually really liked it. Even tho the actual title is quite misleading, I think a lot of people in Mexico thought the subject was going to be about a "huesera" (people in México go to hueseros to get your bones fixed like when you broke a bone or something like that you go to them so they can put it back in place but it's technically about any bone pain) , of course for most people when you break a bone you go to the hospital or a doctor but a lot of people in Mexico trust better a huesero/a, so a lot of my friends were like 🤔 when we watch it entirely. We thought something was going to happened related to that (there's also a lot go stories about hueseros ruining people's limbs because obviously they're not "doctors" or know exactly how to fix fractures that requiere more than just a click to put it back in place), we also thought it was going to be more about brujería cuz we do believed the entire film that she got cursed by her neighbor when she dropped their baby so we were quite curious about that since doing brujería to other people that wrong u its a common thing. But yeah it was more psychological, still very well done.

What bums me out about Poker Face is that they don't let the audience solve any. The mysteries are always shown fully at the start. Woulda been fun to try to solve a new one every week as a viewer.

Its laid out that way because its a columbo pastiche. The idea isnt meant to be about the mystery but how our oddball figures out what we as an audience already know. I personally love that as mysteries are rarely actually mysterious in fiction.
If u like woody Harrelson check out wilson, it fails as an adaptation of the daniel clowes comic (author of the previously adapted, ghost world, art school confidential.) but its a great performance and dark comedy on its own.

I love Handmaid’s Tale it’s one of the best shows out right now. I’ve loved every season. Elizabeth Moss is too good. It really puts a grip on your heart.

I have a VERY obscure movie that I recommended to you some time back I think you would really like. It's called Cold in July (maybe you did see already-I dont know)-its not a horror, its a crime thriller that has a crazy twist 10%-20% into the movie that takes the movie down a very dark path with EXTREME subject matter and an intense ending. Something I think you would enjoy over many of these movies you watched last month. Just a suggestion for March when you are "lying in bed looking for something different to watch"
Please please please do a review on The Whale. i know it isn't technically horror but if you've seen it, you very well know, some of those scenes were beyond horrifying. Based on some of those scenes, it does fall into your channels category.
I won’t be reviewing it, have a very very tight timeline before I go away. But I loved it. Some movies I like to just absorb and enjoy without making content about and this was one of them. But I did love it

i didnt really have any luck with films this month, but i am obsessed with the last of us right now.
A lot of it was filmed in and around my city so we’ve also been playing a weird Where’s Waldo game identifying the locations (including which different malls were used to blend as one cohesive setting). Really wonderful job on the series though.

I was a bit disappointed by Alice, Darling, but it must be because I had a specific expectation before watching it: I thought it was going to be a Promising Young Woman/Luckiest Girl Alive type of movie (the trailer made it look that way anyway.) But obviously, it was very different.

got some absolute bangers in this list!!! that "poster art" for Children of the Corn is the ONLY consistency that franchise has these days! gotta rewatch "Nina Forever" because the trailer (with an INCREDIBLE song from The Ladybrugs) was a bit misleading, but i LOVE the concept. i still have yet to see Infinity Pool, but am beyond hype for it!
I actually enjoy the Messengers.
You should watch the Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio, for more deep Woody Harrelson. It's not a horror, but it is a special movie and I was impressed with his performance in the film.

I know I mentioned this in the discord, but I couldn't stand June in season 4 and the first 2 episodes of season 5, but it's getting better as I watch more. I've finished episode 5. I'll probably finish the series by the end of the week. I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about. Lol.

The estate was a bad version of the old Michael j fox film “Greedy” wich has a stacked cast and has all the charm missing from “the estate”
The Handmaid's Tale is devastating, intense and hard to watch sometimes, but it's just so good! I'm way too attached to the characters and story to abandon it, even if it keeps hurting me lmao

I’m just really curious because after years living here you’re one of the entertainers that keeps me grounded in reality! Lol, cuz Japan is tooo Japanese lol really we need international weirdness to stay flexible once you live here. I’m just curious what brings you. This series went down the toilet. Last 2 seasons were pretty bad vs. how it began. I liked this season better than the last but that's not saying much. I still think it's good it just ran its course.

@@spookyastronauts Its called The Testaments and it's in the works right now. I guess it has all new characters so The Handmaid's Tale will be the last of everyone we first saw. Loved the Handmaid's story so looking forward to The Testaments and hope it has it's own great path to cross.
I absolutely loved Revenge! It felt very self-aware with its plot holes and chose to lean in to the surrealism and gore.
Oh man, I'm sad that Consecration isn't meant to be very good! Such a shame when there are so few Scottish horrors out there... I think I'll still try and check it out whenever it's available to me though. Got to support local :')
Oooh also meant to say I'm LOVING Handmaid's Tale S5 - so much better than S4 I think! Although I did almost cry at an episode earlier so I feel like my emotions are running wild :')
