Can someone please explain to me why Peerless High Rye Bourbon is $150-160, when their standard Bourbon is $75-80 and their standard Rye is $90-100? That price (on the High Rye) has kept me from buying a bottle of something that I'm pretty sure I'll like. I enjoy Peerless products, but New Riff is *at least* as good for much, much less money.
My two are Dickel 15 single barrel and Four Roses barrel proof. I have a killer OESO that all my friends hate! Just can’t understand why people are revolted by it! My Dickel 15 is actually 20 years old and it’s delicious. Those can be sleeper hits and really old whiskey for under 65 bucks. Unreal value.l but they sit on the shelf because of the Dickel name.
I love the Four Roses single barrels. They do tend to sit on the shelves a little longer than some other picks when they hit here, probably because of the price. I think they have a great balance of sweet & spice though.
I love the Maker's 46, as well as cask.
Seagrass was my gateway rye too
Chattanooga Bottled in Bond. Spring 2018 was really good for the price. Not many folks talk about it.
Love the Rose'. Have not had the Valencia....yet
I'd be more into Four Roses SBBP if I could find them ... I haven't laid eyes on one in five or six years. The one I always get the side eye with is Rowan's Creek from Willett ... its 100 proof and I rather enjoy it when I can find it for less than $40.

Seagrass to me is iconic. Agree. 16yr Seagrass is incredible too. Love my Peerless high rye too.
I just finished a bottle of single barrel Old Scout Smooth Ambler Rye that was great. I need another.
I also like Willet 4 year rye and that one gets a lot of hate.
Buddy and I have blinded the 4 roses small batch, single barrel, and small batch select a couple times now. Both times that mid priced single barrel was our favorite of the 3
Agree with ya. 100pf and $40 at my local. The select isn’t worth $15 more in quality.
I couldn't tell you if i like 4Roses Single barrel barrel strength since i never see them. But i do like the standard single barrel.
Peerless is one of my favorites but strangely I don't so much love the flavor as much as the quality. It tastes like a well crafted bourbon, especially the High-Rye. But yeah ouch the price....

I bought a Woodford Double Oaked barrel pick from a local chain and frankly, I'm not a fan. I don't know if it's because it's a pick or just the Woodford profile not jiving with me. Others who have it say it's a really good one. I've had other double oaked bourbons/ryes and typically enjoy them. Hoping to find somebody willing to trade for this, maybe with another open bottle they don't like. I personally love JW Dant. It's taken the place of plastic top Early Times BiB for me.
I absolutely agree with you on almost all of these (don’t love the Seagrass). Especially love the Penelope Valencia. It’s great stuff!
I haven't really loved anything at all from Four Roses yet. Zero for 5.
Dant is good, but I prefer JTS Brown.
I think the Four Roses tend to be unique so it makes sense they’re not for everyone. I am a fan.
I really like Peerless but there is so much stuff that is starting to sit on shelves that is high quality and less money that I haven’t been buying.
I hate the Seagrass.

Interesting. The Penelope Valencia tends to sell out quickly in my neck of the woods.
First time I tried Penelope Valenzia, I did not like it. Came back to it a few months later, one of my favorite bottles.
Jack Daniels Sinatra is one of my faves and ill always have it in my bar... Idk if people dont like as much as its just not super popular but I love it
Barrell Seagrass OF with Pineapple SS/puree and orange bitters… that will change your life.

I enjoy almost ALL five of these; especially the Four Roses. I have also tried the Penelope Valencia in an Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters....Holy $#!T...

AE is the ultimate cheater rye. That’s what got me into them and now I just popped a 138 proof JD Single Barrel. Just needed that sweet rum soaked gateway
I also adore Roses picks. OESO is what’s hitting me well right now but haven’t regretted a single one (although very true on the price increase…wish it was still closer to $70 than $100)
So, in other words, if you don't like what other people like, that's okay, but if others don't like what you like, you can't understand it. I am one of those that is not a fan of 4 Roses, so I definitely understand why they don't get the love y'all feel like they deserve. I wouldn't necessarily turn down a pour, but it is definitely not something I would ever seek. I also don't share your love for Old Forester, but I love just about everything from Jack Daniel's. People's palates vary a lot. Oh, and I like both JW Dant and JTS Brown. Cheers!
Seagrass gets hate now because, after the first few batches, the quality dropped dramatically.
I bough t a bottle a month ago and it's one of my favorites. If that bottle is the dropped off bottle, I can't imagine how great it was prior to that.
Look for batch 10. It’s 120.38pf and was released in spring this year. It’s not crazy sweet like some earlier releases were.
I agree with this. I really enjoyed the first bottle I bought. The second was very disappointing. 50/50 for an $80 bottle isn’t acceptable to me.
How about a video where you two are in complete agreement on and absolutely opposite on.
