There really is no bourbon UA-cam channel that can come close to this one. Y'all are the best!
It was good before but even better when Batman brought in Robin as his sidekick!
I hope you guys take all the category winners once this series has wrapped and blind them against each other to see which bourbon comes out on top!👍🏻🥃
I was about to comment the same thing.
Yes!
Might be cool as a Kurt Vs Trent episode for points putting them in the correct order.
I think at end of last video they said they were. If not, you're right, they should.
Trent good job. Im on my second day sober. They said takes two months to completely clean out your liver and get your body rejuvenated. It's hard it was painful even the first day not drinking. It's funny how much better you feel when you don't drink. I'm just resetting so that I can get control over this addiction. Even the whiskey tribe does 7-day dry weeks to reset. Probably not enough but that's something. Shoot one day I feel like I need a whiskey after for a reward😂. I'm going to shoot for 2 months
When Taylor Small Batch went over $100, Woodford Double Oak became my go-to.

Trenton's tasting notes are hilarious.
The two of them are so funny and goofy together I can’t get enough of this channel
I thank you for your content! It has helped me tremendously in my bourbon journey! Keep up the fantastic work!
Great show !!!! I watched your channel from the beginning when Trenton was in the back just Kurt on camera you guys really have come along ways with slb basement bourbon bar it just keeps getting better thank you keep the greatness coming
Thanks for remembering the bottle notations, it makes a difference 👍
Brilliant stuff guys, love the family vibes, keep it up!
Love your videos guys. Keep cranking em out cause we’re all here to watch them!
I’m glad you all liked my idea of the new drinking came. When Trent fails to put the titles of the bourbon on screen everyone takes a drink. I started getting interested in bourbon over a year ago and have enjoyed watching your videos.
Just bought a Knob Creek Single Barrel store pick. The sample I had in the store was delicious.
I did a tasting at Four Roses Wednesday and have a new appreciation for their different recipes. The Single Barrel is OBSV, so it's their higher rye mash bill and the V yeast is the delicate fruit note.
Nicely done, great competition amongst some of my absolute favorites! And YES, the world needs a cask strength Woodford Reserve Double Oaked!!
Four roses never seems to so well in blinds, and I think that it's because it has such a different profile from most bourbons so it always stands out as weird when in a group.
What sort of profile do you mean?
@tjravend to me it usually tastes a lot more floral/herbal and fruity than traditional bourbon. So it usually present as the odd man out in blinds
You can see that the 4 Roses has the lightest color, which for me, translates into a very weak nose and palate. There are a dozen+ bottles I go for at 30-50% less money.
@@andrettski8686 30-50% less money? 4 roses single barrel is $43 near me, what $22 bottle is beating 4 roses SB!?
Usually tastes much more flowery in blinds.
Love you guys. I look forward to every show.
Love these videos! Best bourbon/whiskey channel on here!
Another great video, recently picked up the Woodford reserve double Oak. It is magnificent, Sunday breakfast in a glass
I've only had the regular New Riff bourbon, but it was instant love. I have a bottle of the New Riff single barrel sitting at home, waiting for a get together to share it. Can't wait to crack it open!
Love the videos, enjoy your interactions, getting some great ideas for myself.
Lemon Pledge, dank basement, shoe leather, pen ink… I’m going back to beer. 😂
Nothing will ever drive me away from my Guinness but i like to have some whiskey and Red wines to hand :)
I’m new to Bourbon and so far my favorites have been the regular Woodford, and the Regular Knob Creek 9. I’ll have to put the Double Oak and the Single barrel on my list to try in the future after I finish a couple bottles.
You will love them. Don’t be afraid to add a bit of water to the Knob SiB if its to hot at first
Double oak is a fantastic pour for the price.
The authenticity is why I love this channel. They are not afraid to challenge what they thought was good
Loving these price bracket shows, as I do all your content. Great that I can buy both 1st and 2nd placed bottle's. Dilemma now which to buy. loving the rare breed I recently purchased after listening to Kurt's comments👍👍
My favorite $40-$50 bourbon is currently the Bardstown Origin white label. It is a great higher rye bourbon, in my book.
I agree
this for sure
Yeah I really like both their white and black label offerings in that range.
Try the bottled in bond version. I think it's so much better personally. Grey Origin label? Really a nice glass.
Good stuff, guys...always enjoy your content. I was not a big HH BiB fan when I first tried it, but I really enjoyed it after a revisit. Haven't had any New Riff yet, but have had it in my hand many times, perhaps this is the tipping point for the need to pick some up.
The close up shot of Kurt imitating Trenton sighing over the first nose is why I love this channel!
All great pours! WR DO is one of my favorites and in my area, it's only
Best bourbon channel on YT! Thank you for all your guidance.
With 60% of the flight being SiB bottles do you think the variations skew the results? I have had good and bad SiB of the same brand. Great video! 🥃
So hilarious how Trenton comes up with his descriptors!! LOL
I’ve gone through 4 bottles of the knob creek single barrel this year and it’s one of my favorites that easily found here in Ohio. It is $60 here but worth every dollar
Always a great show. Keep going boys
Four Roses SiB was one of my first 'higher end' bottle and I've recommended it to several people looking for their first bottle in this sort of price point. I'll always have one in the house, but I'll admit I don't reach for it as much as I used to. The same can be said for the Knob Creek, I've got a 9 year in the house at the moment that I swing between loving and hating from pour to pour, but is no longer in my regular rotation.
The Knob Creek 9 Yr Single Barrel is awesome!!! Went thru my first bottle way too fast so I had to grab another.
FR bottles last and last and last on my shelf. I really appreciate not having to replace them because they look so pretty.
That's a spectacular price on Woodford Double. Or maybe my area just sucks a lot. $63 at Binny's for me.
Absolutely love Knob Creek single barrel, did a blind recently where I picked Old Forester 1920 over it which is another of my favorites and is a fantastic value at $50 for 750ml
Sleeping on the nurses couch, that explains so much.
@renevanderzee108
@renevanderzee108
I don't think we should judge him until we see a photo of the nurse . That might explain even more . 😘😜
I've got 4/5 of those bottles waiting to get cracked, really looking forward to it now! My 4 Roses is already open! Great video!
Heaven Hill bottled in bond was a surprise. Tried it for the first time this year. Well worth the price.
chuckle ... my own personal favorite is Double Oaked, but I can see why this turned out the way it did. Another fun video.
Your videos are always fun! The little lady voice in the corner deserves a lot of credit! Lol
Glad Woodford Reserve Double Oaked made the top of the viewer votes. I'm more of a scotch guy. Most bourbons for some reason are just too woody. Even as picky as I am in bourbon, I love WR:DO.
Great vid! Thanks for sharing!!
Fantastic. I gotta try this lineup. I have all but the heaven hill. My guess is I’d put WRDO first with KCSB 2nd and NRSB 3rd. The 4 roses to me is exactly as you described. Not bad but not much there. Just booked a New Riff tour for me and a few guys for my bday in a couple weeks. Excited for that.
Please at the end of all this do a blind of the winners of each category and see if any of the cheaper bottles can beat the higher priced stuff.
The Woodford and the Knob Creek are both in the next price range where I live (Woodford-$65.99 and Knob Creek-$59.99). I haven't had the Knob Creek 9 Single Barrel but the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is very good, just wish it was in the $40-$50 price range here.
I really enjoyed the New Riff Lineup years ago when they came put here in Nashville,TN. May be worth a revisit.
Phenomenal show and lineup guys, have a blessed labor day weekend
I really want to try the woodford double oaked, but it’s very expensive where I live. I’m sticking with the lower priced jack Daniels single barrel and their single barrel rye as well, thanks as always for the great content guys!
don't bother it's a bit disappointing. sure the nose is nice but the palette is "meh". It's not bad by any means, it just doesn't feel very 'strong' or stands out in any way. It tastes very mellow/mild to me and I've seen several channels now state that the regualr woodford is better than the double oaked (despite the fact that the double costs way more).
Out of this list I just tried the knob creek 9 120 proof and it was incredible, probably the best bourbon I've had so far.
60 bucks here in Washington st
Its on Amazon where i live atm for £45
Great series!
KC sib is a sleeper. Some of the picks are ridiculously good. Great flight. I like all of these. Kinda surprised by the Four Roses and the Heaven Hill.
It's one of my favorites. I like that it's not super sweet. I wish I ever saw it for $40-50 in PA
Still have a New Riff SB and WR DO waiting to be opened (just have too many other bottles open right now, need to clear some out, LOL) but really looking forward to trying them and sharing with my bourbon buds. I really like the KC SBS at 120 proof. Would like to put that in a blind with other BPs like Tumblin Dice and Broken Barrel (which I both enjoy, ever review either of those?) ...fall weather seems a great time for that proofier stuff.
As soon as you mentioned that bottle, I know it would win. Those are so great.
Cheers buddies 🥃
Four Roses is a solid bourbon, but from what I've seen and heard it often doesn't do well in blinds. I've seen other channels talk about that very issue. Something about the Four Roses profile not holding up in flights when compared to other distilleries. However, on its' own, Four Roses is great. I also quite like their Small Batch Select and I just got an OESO store pick that is fantastic. I did a blind flight with that OESO against Maker's 46 Cask, Belle Meade Reserve, and Doc Swinson's Toasted Oak. The OESO was the clear winner which I was happy about since it's the most expensive bottle in that line up. 😄
I can’t stand Four Roses… just so off to me - noxious weeds and flowers…
Agree. I get the same experience with 4 Roses. I think its a more delicate spirit that gets overpowered by other expressions. At that point you lose alot of its complexity
I had a great bottle of select last year. Picked up one this year and didn't have the same love for it.
@@dawsonleding7051 - I’ve tried 3 bottles of FR SiB - did not like any of them - was hoping maybe a Select or LE would change my mind about the distillery…
@@brettheiner7125 I actually prefer the single barrel over the select this year.
I Wish Michigan had the double oaked and KC SiB under 50 both are in the 60 range here but at least rare breed is still under 50 here! Appreciate the great work from you guys keep it up! Cheers
First of all, I'm a big fan of the Knob Creek 120. The fact that you could not really pick up the 120 proof says it all. It is the smoothest high proof you could ever drink. I was not a big fan of the Woodford Reserve regular, but after this I will take a look at the double oaked. I do love the Four Roses Single.
love the fun u guys have.... just a shame we dont get to see some of these in the UK.....
KC single barrels are so good. I agree with Trenton on the New Riff, I also prefer their rye, but the bourbon is good too. Haven't pulled the trigger on the HH or the Woodford.
I'll have to look for their Rye, been looking for recommendations for new ryes to try. My latest pick up was a Still Austin BP.
Wow! The first bourbon I tried was Woodford Reserve double oaked which I did not like. Now that I have been drinking bourbon more often, I should probably try it again. Thanks for the great info.
I've found that a couple or three things I didn't like the first time around I do like now. For instance, I wasn't a fan of Knob Creek 9 year when I first tried it, but when I gave it another shot about a year later I liked it so much that it's now my second favorite bourbon. 🙂
Good morning.
Keep the great stuff coming
It is well known in neuroscience that prior exposure to a sensory signal can change the recognition of a secondary signal. Id love to see some repeated blind tastings with the order of bourbons changed because i sense that the order in tasting affects the flavors of others that come afterwards.
Only one of these bottles is under $50 around me 😂😂
Bought the Knob Creek last week to take to my son's house. I like the Knob Creek 9 small batch but did not care for this single barrel. Left it with him. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is one of my got to bottles.
Great video as usual. Basically, these are in order by price around me - $50, $50, $53, $62 & $65.
Stories galore, and that slosh out of the glass, has caused me to come back for a second view…this time with HH BIB…since it’s not 5am this view 😂
New to bourbon and so far Woodford double oaked is my favorite. Cheers!
At the end of this, you guys should do all of the winners in a blind! Love the videos
Great series guys! Without blinding them, I would have put the Woodford Double Oaked over the Knob Creek…but agree with other choices.
4 Roses Single barrel is my favorite "everyday bourbon".
I picked up a new riff single barrel bourbon the other day. It is really good!!
New Riff Single Barrel store picks at my local store on sale for 27.95 a few weeks ago…so I grabbed 3 of them!!!
Awesome price!
I have not had the New Riff. There is always a bottle of WR Double Oaked on the shelf. I agree that upping the proof would make it better. The other 3 rotate through my bar. If I buy it, I drink it.
Great blind fellas, and good work by the Paetrons picking the lineup. WRDO is a fave of mine.
I'm soooo happy you added the bourbon subtitles you're tasting!!!
You guys have the wildest nose and tasting examples. Lol
Trenton and Kurton are back at it!
Love your channel. Would you consider ranking them in how you think you’ll rank the top 5 prior to actual tasting and then reveal at the end? This one’s sounds like Trenton might have picked the correct order and Kurt would have probably shuffled the bottom 3.
KC9 120 pf is one of my favorites. That said, it's really not fair to put the 120 pf against those
The four roses did surprise me, but it's a single barrel so you sometimes don't get the honey barrel. Other than that good episode and picks!
Thanks for the BIB shoutout. Lol
I have all of these except the Knob Creek SB 9. My winner of all was WRDO. I will definitely pick up the KC SB 9 on my next purchase. GREAT call on a WR DO Cask Strength. That would be amazing! I love doing blinds and watching you do blinds. Great job as always!
Just in time to do some Friday whiskey shopping
What he said 😂
Not surprised about Heaven Hill. It’s over priced for what it is. An extra year aged and a new label doesn’t constitute the price increase.
These are all great bottles. My top 3 would have been HH BiB, Woodford DO, and KC Single. Order might vary by day. Cheers.
Now you got me curious about the Heaven Hill 7 year. Most reviewers kind of give it a bashing but I really like the cheaper Heaven Hill bottles and my local shop has the 7 year for $43.
Avowedly, people do "love to bash" Heaven Hill BIB's. Hence, 7 years and Henry McKenna 10 years. In contrast, MF'ers love everything about Buffalo Trace. SMH.
Great vid! Curious of the other 5 that didn't make the blind? I like Four Roses SIB but find them inconsistent. Prob due to recipe differences. Woodford double oaked is solid!
Have you gents ever done any hunting in Colorado? I'm heading there this weekend and was hoping for some tips or ideas on any hard to find allocateds
Big fan of the subtitles of what you’re drinking as your tasting it
😂 that sound with the up close😂
Guys the 2023 Batch Proof Woodford is all of the double oak but with a finish that last for days. Best whiskey I have tasted this year.
None of these are under $50 where I live so I have not tried any of them but it is fun watching you guys. Regular knob nine is one of my favorites and I do not like four roses at all
Not even the Small Batch?
@@briansmith5083 it might be but I really don't like 4 roses so I never checkec
@josephthomas2226 That's fair but I'd say at least give the Small batch a try at $33 if you ever feel the need. And yes I agree the regular yellow label is not great. Small Batch Select at the higher proof isn't bad either. I still need to try Knob Creek 9.
That is exactly how I would have ranked them. Great job!
Sounding pretty good Trenton!!
I like the New Riff, so I’m glad to see it hold it’s own. Have you tried their Silver Grove? Just curious as it’s a distillery only bottle & I haven’t been able to get one yet.
Feel better Trent sending prayers
I usually have Woodford Reserve Double Oaked on my shelf. Knob Creek will be now.
Saw you guys are from Valparaiso in one of your videos! I’m also from the area and was wondering how you guys get so many good bottles? Any recs on stores would be appreciated, love the channel!
I could tell the Woodford Double Oaked just by the color in the glass 😆
another great one!
Knob 8 single barrel is an absolute killer. I'd take new riff over the woodford in this pool.I heard that they have to proof down double oaks bc of the extra tannins imparted in the process.
Love these video series! In Virginia Woodford Reserve Double Oak is $59.99.
I'd love a WRDO Cask Strength. Maybe that's why I like the Old Forester 1915 blend so much.
