If you are wondering how Jordan made the screams so terrifying, he asked a group of people to scream like they were on a rollercoaster having fun, and then he asked them to scream like they were being eaten alive, and he blended the two sounds together.
@Annistar i thinkbits cause our brains dont know how to process it. It isnt sure if this is a good sound or a bad sound. Bit who knows, brains are weird.
Wow that just so creative
That’s incredible! He’s truly a genius. Thank you for letting us know that information. 😁
I imagine our reaction to this is how audiences must've reacted to seeing Jaws for the first time
Fun Fact: The brief under the maw of the alien scene at this part was slightly re-edit for the digital release. I didn’t notice it at first but I saw a video that compared this. In the theatrical version you can hear the screams of everyone before the silence. However, in the digital version they added the additional two screams of that man and woman on top of everyone else’s screams until the silence.
The fact that you can literally hear their screams and the moment they were killed is absolutely terrifying
And then they all silence
And you can hear a sickening crunch
The instant silence is when the intestinal muscles squashed those poor victims into a liquid mass of pulp and blood.
Is that what the insides of the alien is doing to those people? It's slowly crushing them?
When can you hear then dying?
The screams suddenly being cut off was the scariest part of the scene to me. It’s like it flexed and crushed them
Either like a giant blender or a giant car crusher
Compare it to squishing a mosquito in your hands. Just a tiny amount of force can completely crush it into mush.
@@superdaveozy7863 only difference is that it kept squeezing them for whatever reason
@@live4life551 they were all sofened up by digestive acids for hours till it flexed its massive muscular gastrointestinal folds and crushed everyone to bloody pulp at once.
@@live4life551 Nah, The movement and "squishing" is simply JJ's muscles pushing them along the tract, Theres enough room to accommodate a horse, let alone people... Unpleasant no doubt, but its just working them through the system so to speak.
This scene is actually really creative. Not only is the creature showing it’s dominance and marking it’s Territory. But if you think about it it’s basically a way of saying “If I can’t eat you, you’ll sure as will flee my territory”!
And then OJ pulls the reverse uno card at the end of the movie like, “actually, you’re On my Territory!”
@@Comicedits39 more emerald than oj tbh
More like the creature's way of saying: "If you mess with me or remain in my territory, you will meet the same fate as them."
*wont
I never understood the fact that Jean jacket seemed really intelligent, if it wanted to eat them it could have but decided not to? "Honoring" the rool about eye contact, I wonder why that is.
Guys, I hate to tell you, but they weren’t digested. JJ still had the fake horse stuck in its throat and couldn’t swallow anymore food. It had to crush and throw up all of its victims and ejects the fake horse onto OJ’s car. That’s why it was raining blood as well as all the inorganic material. Otherwise we would’ve seen blood pouring down at the beginning of the film. Still a horrible way to go 😢
Makes sense
There was some goo sticking to the victims during the "stomach" shot. What I think the implication is is that they were being digested, but couldn't fit in any deeper to complete the process, so parts of them came back up when it finally managed to hork out the horse.
JJ is a VERY big monster. Odds are, one plastic horse isn't going to completely block off its digestive system. More akin to a tonsil stone than anything.
That's a plausible explanation.
@@BiochemitraI'm not sure. We saw the flags (which were attached to the fake horse) still sticking out of its mouth. The fake horse was still stuck in its windpipe. I think the first comment is correct, they couldn't move through its system any further so it essentially threw up all over the house.
@@dre8463 Those two statements aren't really contradictory.
Mind you, Jean Jacket most likely didn't have to do this. Often it only left behind non-organic material, It did this to mark it's territory. A viewer of this event on the opposite side of the valley would've seen what a *spectacle* Jean Jacket was putting on.
That and to flush out the fake horse that was stuck in its digestive track
Just to make things clear jj is the invasive species here oj and his family were there first and if they didn't kill it lord knows what would've happened if it made its way to a city
What do you mean about the viewer?
It wasn't marking its territory, it was waiting for the people to come out of hiding so it could eat them. It vomited blood on the house because the metal horse damaged its intestines, and it couldn't digest properly because the same horse was blocking its stomach. So it ejected the fake horse, and the people along with it. Then it proceeds to chase the main characters for the rest of the movie, because they're its only source of food left.
you forgot about the fake horse you dumbass
Man the moment where all the people get digested is really horrifying, and hearing their screaming before that makes its more gruesome. Not to mention there were kids on that festival!
Some I noticed is that when it eats the biker later he screams for not as long so by that logic jj could control how long its prey had to suffer and it wanted them to spend their last moments in fear
Fr
@@live4life551 Jean Jacket ate the people to help get the fake horse out of its system.
@@live4life551 no it just couldn't digest them quickly because of the prop horse being stuck in its throat
It ate the hickers before it ate the horse and you could hear them scream in the begining when Otis dies
Stomach acids must of been really heating up in this scene. Digestive system of this beast is so powerful no bones came out. Only blood. Very terrifying.
I heard a theory that based on the biology of the creature and how it works by controlling air currents it doesnt digest using acids.
it inflates or constricts the membrane in its "stomach" to the point where the pressure pulverizes and crushes its prey into a fine easily absorbed pulp leaving only some non digestible behind
I thought they were crushed to death
They were crushed to mush by the creature
Bones did come out
Actually both are right. One of consultants on this movie pictured the digestive system similar to a bird's crop. Meaning the food is slowly "softened" before crushed
I feel sorry for the families with children and other spectators that were sucked up by Jean Jacket. Hearing their voices as they slowly die is heartbreaking.
Yeah if it was just adults it wouldn’t be as bad but full familys jupes family and everyone else at the park being tortured for 8 hours before being crushed makes me feel bad for them even jupe even if he sent horses out to die
@@Mixs3zZIf they thought it was a good idea to watch “aliens” from that close then it’s kinda natural selection at that point tbh.
@@DoneRegularly they thought it was fake like literally all of that stuff

I love how there are so many interpretations of why Jean Jacket is puking blood, and they all make sense
Me after eating 2 week old pizza
1. Asserting dominance
2. Marking territory
3. People weren't food, but were enema for JJ to push the indigestible metal horse out

I have to admit the screaming then the sudden silence and squishing sounds followed by the blood rain gave me goosebumps. Like the entire scene made my heart literally race with anxiety and i was kinda scared.
This was a really good way to bring fear to audience without the need of jumpscares
I feel sad for those children 😢
@@cheesecake_official12same I think this was the worst part
The fact the scene where they’re all abducted takes place during the day, and the time they’re all juiced and everything is excreted takes place during the night, is truly horrifying. Must have been a hellish time period.
Can’t blame it for takin so long: “softened” food is easier to crush
But not possible they are alive in its stomach for such a long period of time..the last ones were mostly ones jean abducted afterwards..
@@nagratna793i think they were stuck in JJ’s esophogus more than its stomach, because the plastic horse disrupted its digestion.
I really love the sounds of the creature. At first it does sound like some sort of machine or metal, creaking or moving. But then later on it starts to sound more like a beast.
One part during The Run when it got tilted onto it's side to avoid the flags, it sounded like a ship gliding by.
@@flarestriker2005 Almost sounded like a TIE Fighter when it rolled on its side.

This entire scene honestly was horror defined. This might be a bit of a hot-take but this is definitely up there with Get Out for me when it comes to Peele’s work.

The worst part about this is the fact that they had to be melting in there for hours, just for the creature to not even be able to digest them and it spit them out. They died for nothing, not even to feed the creature.

Jordan Peele really dropped some heavy beef on the table with this.

@@ToroMOB most of his movies are crap. But in this one it looks like he learned every lesson from all his failures and made a masterpiece he won't make anything better
My general guess for why jean jacket was taking so long to finish off the people from Jupiter's claim. I think that the metal horse didn't necessarily make it feel enough discomfort that it felt it needed to throw it up. It otherwise had the time to throw it up, so it may have mistook it for a very heavy prey item that would take longer to digest. So it just held onto the jupiter's claim victims while it waited for its "big meal" to finish. With mounting pressure from everything else in its digestive track it may have either worked out itself that it could not pass the first thing it ate, or that there was enough pressure and pain that it had no choice but to just evacuate everything in one go. It's likely safest for the creature to crush what it can before it does this, so it just turned everything it could into soup before emptying its digestive tract.
And on top of that Clover was stuck as well
How to establish that those were from.jupiter's claim only? Would they be that long alive in its stomach which had squeezed them hard and suffocated most of them to death already??

Which is actually a bit interesting since the victims had presumably been in there for hours (assuming that JJ hadn't hoovered up anyone else since the Star Lasso Buffet) and while getting hit with acid does burn initially, once you lose the nerves the whole area becomes numb. I originally thought he "crunch" was Jean Jacket's gizzard clenching down on the people trapped inside of it, killing them, but it seems something different happened. AFAIK, Jean Jacket was trying to move them down into its stomach- where they'd slowly digest to death over *days.* (The hikers were still alive days after they went missing, still screaming inside of it...) But the plastic horse blocked its gut. So it smashed them against it to try and dislodge it, and when that failed, it vomited the crushed remains of its victims up just to get rid of the plastic horse.
The theory a commenter made that it chose the house to do it over as a territorial display makes a lot of sense, since this is a predatory animal and territory is extremely important to most predators.
The fact they were in there all day, screaming in fear, trapped beneath the fake horse then, instead of being digested, all at once, they were easily crushed into a paste and rained down on the house is sickening. And i love it. Peele you are a master of horror and you only made three movies 😮

Unpopular opinion as to why i enjoyed this film and this particular scene where most people were disturbed by it:
This movie actually had the balls to show the aftermath of their digestion, gore and all.
I absolutely love this film for that. About time we push the boundaries with horror these days.
I absolutely want more horror films to go to this extreme and beyond that even.
The nonsense we have in movies and tv shows and video games where we should "censor everything" is beyond ridiculous to me.
Show the darkness of humanity, show nature at its worst, up the ante with cosmic horror, go crazy and graphic with body horror...absolutely NOTHING should be off-limits. The point of horror is to disturb you, spread fear, get under your skin, give you nightmares, make you cry and beg for mercy and show the nihilism or absurdism of our universe and our world itself. That's what horror is to me.
This film is a solid 8/10, without a doubt.
The Bible verse at the beginning of the movie said "I will cast vile filth upon you and make you a spectacle." Pinpoint accuracy
Talk about the golden rule of "show, don't tell"
This is the moment where everything established clicks, and it's hard to see and hear. You can only watch as you realize the horrifing implications of what's going on.
"I will cast abominable filth at you, make you vile, and make you a scpectacle"
The film's thesis is shown at full desplay here and with no dialogue.
I think the person who said “get us out of here!” was Jupe park
In my opinion, everyone over exaggerates when it comes to horror films using violins, almost all films have their own soundtracks, this moment with very low violin scrapes gives it this sort of “viscera” like feeling, it’s used in theme, finally seeing a popular film use these violin like scrapes makes me happy.

Digestive fluids pouring out from the stomach and into the aliens esophagus are the reason we hear the screaming get that much louder. It's not enough to kill all the people, but it's enough to start searing the flesh off of their bodies.
I also think that Jean Jacket has intentionally been keeping them in this condition in order to break the spirits of OJ, Emerald, and Angel since they were the ones responisble for lodging that horse in its digestive system.
The whole message of this movie is to bring to light Hollywood's mistreatment of animals and profiteering off of them, but with a sadistic and aggressive action like this...
I don't think that Jean Jacket is an animal...I think it knows exactly what it's doing.
Who else thought that this was a movie about little aliens instead of one big alien who disguises itself as a UFO
I wonder if the ufo is vulnerable to weapons like bullets, explosives or fire?
It was killed by a giant balloon, if the military was involved the movie would be short
I kinda felt like if any of those people had a pocket knife they could have cut their way through it (then maybe fall to their death lol)
@@MythicalMX That probably would piss it off and try to crush them quickly lol
Most likely an explosion, that thing can break the sound barrier and the balloon was kinda like a bomb to it since it body is mostly compromised of air
Like Drax from GotG 2
I didnt think anyone could make the raining blood scene from War of the Worlds more terrifying but the creators of this film definitely did it
If you can freeze frame it @ 2:28 ... 😱
The house looks fake. CGI.
Not knowing the point of this, whether intentionally puking, a big meal, marking its territory, the ambiguity of it all just makes it all the more horrifying
It’s almost like evil dead 2013 blood rain reference
I love how the alien decided to just let it out on their house
This is the part where I’m terrified.
1:20 that massive squish 😰
I was like "it would be super cool if it started raining the victim's blood, i think i will use that to write my own horror story" and then i was so pissed that it actually happened cuz i didnt get to use that prompt anymore
If it makes you feel any better, basically any idea you come up with will have already been done before in some shape or form. As long as you don’t deliberately copy you’re fine. Go write horrific works of fiction about blood rain to your heart’s content!
True, lol and Blood raining on someone or something has been done before, this wasn't anything new, only new element is that it came from a creature that looks like a UFO, otherwise, yeah you absolutely can write about blood raining down all you want just don't copy this exact scene.
What would have been more creepy and scary to me, not disembodied screams, but if JJ had their heads to pop outside upside down like holes in the surface of JJs skin, then actually see them screaming upside down and their own blood pouring over them and the blood of others. How horrible, because being able to breathe air would allow them to live longer, yeah start off on the inside, then lock them in heads only and upsidedown on the bottom. Then one at a time so others could watch, suck one in, scream bloody horrific murder, then silence, then the hole opens and blood and objects come out. Hey it's alien man, if it doesn't make sense, then you did a good job, IT'S ALIEN!!! Not supposed to make sense.
Lol, Any how just my thoughts.
@@showbizstudios655 Yep. Blood rain is a trope that has been used in several horror media.
It was done in the 2013 "Evil Dead" movie, and if I remember correctly, I think it may have been done in some of the "Silent Hill" games. But these are just two examples out of undoubtedly many.
From what somebody told me on here, the death of all those people was due to them being crushed to death and spat back out due to the metal horse. Which explains all the blood. disgusting way to go
Key and Peele have comedy and horror great
