If you are wondering how Jordan made the screams so terrifying, he asked a group of people to scream like they were on a rollercoaster having fun, and then he asked them to scream like they were being eaten alive, and he blended the two sounds together.

Fun Fact: The brief under the maw of the alien scene at this part was slightly re-edit for the digital release. I didn’t notice it at first but I saw a video that compared this. In the theatrical version you can hear the screams of everyone before the silence. However, in the digital version they added the additional two screams of that man and woman on top of everyone else’s screams until the silence.

Guys, I hate to tell you, but they weren’t digested. JJ still had the fake horse stuck in its throat and couldn’t swallow anymore food. It had to crush and throw up all of its victims and ejects the fake horse onto OJ’s car. That’s why it was raining blood as well as all the inorganic material. Otherwise we would’ve seen blood pouring down at the beginning of the film. Still a horrible way to go 😢

There was some goo sticking to the victims during the "stomach" shot. What I think the implication is is that they were being digested, but couldn't fit in any deeper to complete the process, so parts of them came back up when it finally managed to hork out the horse.
JJ is a VERY big monster. Odds are, one plastic horse isn't going to completely block off its digestive system. More akin to a tonsil stone than anything.

It wasn't marking its territory, it was waiting for the people to come out of hiding so it could eat them. It vomited blood on the house because the metal horse damaged its intestines, and it couldn't digest properly because the same horse was blocking its stomach. So it ejected the fake horse, and the people along with it. Then it proceeds to chase the main characters for the rest of the movie, because they're its only source of food left.

My general guess for why jean jacket was taking so long to finish off the people from Jupiter's claim. I think that the metal horse didn't necessarily make it feel enough discomfort that it felt it needed to throw it up. It otherwise had the time to throw it up, so it may have mistook it for a very heavy prey item that would take longer to digest. So it just held onto the jupiter's claim victims while it waited for its "big meal" to finish. With mounting pressure from everything else in its digestive track it may have either worked out itself that it could not pass the first thing it ate, or that there was enough pressure and pain that it had no choice but to just evacuate everything in one go. It's likely safest for the creature to crush what it can before it does this, so it just turned everything it could into soup before emptying its digestive tract.

So they weren’t getting digested or anything they were essentially stuck in a claustrophobic tube for hours on end until they were instantly crushed. I originally thought he "crunch" was Jean Jacket's gizzard clenching down on the people trapped inside of it, killing them, but it seems something different happened. AFAIK, Jean Jacket was trying to move them down into its stomach- where they'd slowly digest to death over *days.* (The hikers were still alive days after they went missing, still screaming inside of it...) But the plastic horse blocked its gut. So it smashed them against it to try and dislodge it, and when that failed, it vomited the crushed remains of its victims up just to get rid of the plastic horse.
The theory a commenter made that it chose the house to do it over as a territorial display makes a lot of sense, since this is a predatory animal and territory is extremely important to most predators.

Unpopular opinion as to why i enjoyed this film and this particular scene where most people were disturbed by it:
This movie actually had the balls to show the aftermath of their digestion, gore and all.
I absolutely love this film for that. About time we push the boundaries with horror these days.
I absolutely want more horror films to go to this extreme and beyond that even.
The nonsense we have in movies and tv shows and video games where we should "censor everything" is beyond ridiculous to me.
Show the darkness of humanity, show nature at its worst, up the ante with cosmic horror, go crazy and graphic with body horror...absolutely NOTHING should be off-limits. The point of horror is to disturb you, spread fear, get under your skin, give you nightmares, make you cry and beg for mercy and show the nihilism or absurdism of our universe and our world itself. That's what horror is to me.
This film is a solid 8/10, without a doubt.

So it appears that everytime we hear the droning noise the screaming also gets louder.
It's likely that the droning noise is it's digestive system pulsating, ableit slowly due to the decoy horse being lodged in its stomach.
Digestive fluids pouring out from the stomach and into the aliens esophagus are the reason we hear the screaming get that much louder. It's not enough to kill all the people, but it's enough to start searing the flesh off of their bodies.
I also think that Jean Jacket has intentionally been keeping them in this condition in order to break the spirits of OJ, Emerald, and Angel since they were the ones responisble for lodging that horse in its digestive system.
The whole message of this movie is to bring to light Hollywood's mistreatment of animals and profiteering off of them, but with a sadistic and aggressive action like this...
I don't think that Jean Jacket is an animal...I think it knows exactly what it's doing.

If it makes you feel any better, basically any idea you come up with will have already been done before in some shape or form. As long as you don’t deliberately copy you’re fine. Go write horrific works of fiction about blood rain to your heart’s content!

    • @dadtype2339
      @dadtype2339 Рік тому

True, lol and Blood raining on someone or something has been done before, this wasn't anything new, only new element is that it came from a creature that looks like a UFO, otherwise, yeah you absolutely can write about blood raining down all you want just don't copy this exact scene.
What would have been more creepy and scary to me, not disembodied screams, but if JJ had their heads to pop outside upside down like holes in the surface of JJs skin, then actually see them screaming upside down and their own blood pouring over them and the blood of others. How horrible, because being able to breathe air would allow them to live longer, yeah start off on the inside, then lock them in heads only and upsidedown on the bottom. Then one at a time so others could watch, suck one in, scream bloody horrific murder, then silence, then the hole opens and blood and objects come out. Hey it's alien man, if it doesn't make sense, then you did a good job, IT'S ALIEN!!! Not supposed to make sense.
Lol, Any how just my thoughts.

@@showbizstudios655 Yep. Blood rain is a trope that has been used in several horror media.
It was done in the 2013 "Evil Dead" movie, and if I remember correctly, I think it may have been done in some of the "Silent Hill" games. But these are just two examples out of undoubtedly many.

From what somebody told me on here, the death of all those people was due to them being crushed to death and spat back out due to the metal horse. Which explains all the blood. disgusting way to go
