My worst move was in my first ever rated game in high school. Something like fifth move I picked up my kingside knight and hemmed and hawed trying to decide between e2 and f3, and compromised on e3. I somehow got it to the point where my kingside quadrant had 15 pieces in it. When I went back and replayed it from my notes, I saw the illegal move and threw it away in disgust. I keep wishing I kept it because I mapped out all the exchanges and came out a bishop ahead and eventually won the game.

It’s nice to know the way my 400 vs 500 games often end is also possible at a 2800 vs 2750 level. Love the ones where you both blunder. Thanks for all of the great content, I’m just getting back into Chess after 20 years and am finding you both very informative and very entertaining.

This is Levy's best video, hands down. Not only is it lovely to see someone with 2700+ rating make the same braindead moves I usually make but also Levy's energy and lightheartedness were just *chef's kiss*

There was a game where I blundered a queen and a rook at the same time, thinking I mated my opponent. Later into the game, I play moves that blunder my remaining knight and rook. I lose the game.

It feels better to know this can happen to anyone regardless their skill level. I feel like a stupid when my opponent makes a mistake in the opening and gets away with it or even gets the upper hand thanks to it. But it helps me motivated to study more and do better.

I have done the premove blunder in the last example a number of times. I learned my lesson and now never premove castle if there are pieces under attack.

My favorite blunder. I moved a rook to the back rank to check the king, and to my horror the king somehow moved by three squares and took my rook! I then realized that was not the king, that was the queen. I thought I was checking the king but I was checking the queen, which is not a thing and the queen simply took my rook. I stared at the board in disbelief for about five minutes after that.

Oh geez, that spot where you drop a pawn move because the King can escape, then miss that move after blocking the king's escape... if I made a mistake like that when I was younger, I would've clutched my hair and started crying, like on the spot. I'm glad you're able to laugh at stuff like this

Game 3 (I feel the pain Levy) - The exact thing happened to me, I saw a discovered attack on queen, moved the king and hung my queen in the very next move. Still don't know what happened to me back then.
