LRPP have the most beautiful boat - pretty like a Ferrari - and so fast in higher winds. But ETNZ are just flawless. My first time seeing the AC 40s - love ‘em!
Wait aren't the AC40s standardized so that all the boats are exactly the same? I thought only the AC75s were engineered separately?

I must say, I prefer this over SailGP, these monohauls are ripping!
They’re remarkable machines, but I do like the fact that in sailgp you get to see the crews dashing from side to side and hanging on for dear life in the turns.
@@mildpandemic3944 You got a point there. Just seeing them sit there and everything powered by huge batteries is a bit weird. But they do can throw these boats around (and dive them deep ... LR 😳)!
Yeah SailGP is good until you see this, these things are like high powered karts for the ocean, intense and spectacular

The live coverage editing is so much weaker than sail GP. Watching the lead boat rounding the mark is so unimportant compared to the crossings of boats 2 & 3. When boats fall off their foils I want to see it, and I want to watch the rest of the fleet finish not hear an interview with the winner. At least the ac uses knots instead of kph. I do miss the sail GP ladder lines, it makes the visual picture better. The ac commentators are professional and on topic compared to the slightly goofy sail GP commentators.
Unfortunate not too much of a match racing game in the last race. The fastest boat just sails away cleanly, the Italians can only hope for an alternative tack. Amazing how fast that boat got stopped dead in the water after the last mark!
Did you watch the whole race. It was close and nz used good match racing techniques to stay in front of a faster boat
LR was faster, they had problems whit the gear

GBR AC75 is mule too.
Saw it on trial runs and could barely make 40knots.
The Kiwi AC75 was going over 50knots consistently.

Same with sponsoring: the AC sponsors have no vital need for the publicity; But it actually does help, whether or not the sponsored boat is a winner - as Sir Thomas Lipton has demonstrated in his days. __ .
