As a Western Carolina booster (where Kerwin Bell is coaching now) thank you for covering this , I never knew all the drama surrounding his leaving , he’s doing a great job at WCU though
At Valdosta State Kerwin Bell truly shined and we thank him for his stay here. Thank you for this video. Didn't realize the treacherous path that brought him to us.
The biggest mystery in college football is - why the heck does Wichita State not have a football team? There are plenty of smaller schools in the state with football. Wichita is aching to support Shockers football, but somehow it just won't happen.
The JU football program was all about revenue generation. When that no longer worked for them, it was killed. It was nice while it lasted, and Kerwin is one of the most underappreciated coaches in this country. He was serious about football. His bosses were serious about money. Hey, it's a crew and lacrosse school.
Feels like a channel that pays homage to mid-major schools. I appreciate that. Here’s a thought based on today’s political ideology. All these P4 schools are overflowing with money. How come talk about equality doesn’t go all across the board? If rich business owners should be taxed more because they’re making a lot of money and the common man is struggling to make ends meet, shouldn’t rich P4 schools be taxed on all the money they’re making and share it with mid-major schools and their sports since they’re struggling to make ends meet too? Just a thought.
Jacksonville University and JU football cheated by giving mostly football players "leadership scholarships" and only giving a few to non-football players. So Bell can say he didn't care whether he had non scholarship football or not, but he was playing with a stacked deck in the Pioneer League. He's the greatest FB coach in JU history, even though the bar is low because there are only 3 head coaches in the program's history. I am a JU alum who played football for 2 years there before I got hurt. I don't really think highly of Kerwin Bell as a person, but can objectively say he made JU football relatively relevant for its level. He benefitted from breaking rules to succeed in the conference, in addition to being a good football coach. As for JU, I haven't been back in years. Last time I was on campus was to visit while I was in town for a friend's wedding. But I don't see myself going back without a football program to support. Definitely not donating money. Go JU though, I guess.
Administration killing sports due to massive egos is a tale as old as time
08 JU champ team member - when this happened..the death blow...they broke my heart.
Loved my JU football experience. Good times. Still got my championship rings. Thanks for doing this video!
I live in Jacksonville. I used to go to the games sometimes. I miss going. I was sad when they cancelled the football program

Great video. You should do Hofstra next if you haven’t already
I will subscribe for the Morris Brown video.
We appreciate this boss
I hope they bring it back in the near future
I remeber Ju they always were a solid program I still wish kerwin goes to florida still we need him.
I grew up 5 minutes from JU . They never had actual scholarships for football. It made it difficult to keep it going and get good players.
Always wondered what happened to them I live in Jax

Exactly
JU is a highbrow school that doesn’t really support athletics. It’s a rich kid art school
Explains the $10k/semester tuition
My mentor took me to a game my homeboy played on the team
Sad
Sounds about right when it comes to Jacksonville mentality regarding firing someone who does their job well.
