LONG LIVE THE AFC CENTRAL. Thank you for the upload. Loved those Jeff Fisher/McNair Titans squads from 1999 to 2003. As for the Jaguars, this was their best team in franchise history, and they haven't had a team as good since. Just couldn't get past Tennessee despite going 14-2. Bonkers. The 1999 Jaguars went 0-3 against the Titans and 15-0 against everyone else they faced. The Titans defense forced the same number of turnovers (13) in 3 games as the Jaguars other 15 opponents combined. More than 35 percent of the points allowed that season by Jacksonville were scored by the Titans. Jacksonville scored less than 20 points 6 times all season. They did so in all 3 games vs Tennessee.

I was 9 when this game was played but looking at these highlights closely it really looks as if Jacksonville gave this game away. Not taking anything away from McNair at all (R.I.P) but they had him several times & showed no effort to tackle him
That 99 Jaguars team was so talented. Mark Brunell, Fred Taylor, Tony Baccelli, Jimmy Smith were among the most underrated all time to play their positions. They absolutely annihilated Jimmie Johnson and Dan Marino’s dolphins the week before in what would be Marino’s final game played and Jimmie Johnson’s final game coached. I was actually rooting for Jacksonville to get to the Super Bowl because I thought them against the Rams would’ve been an excellent Super Bowl from an entertainment standpoint. But as great of a team as you are, some teams just simply have your number, and that of course was tough, resilient Tennessee Titans led by the late great Steve McNair and Eddie George.
This team reflected the demeanor of its coach. Talented but extremely uptight and stiff. Even though this was technically Coughlin's best season, it may have been his worst coaching job. He micromanaged everything including adding offensive play calling duties to his domain. As a result, he slowly snuffed the life out of the team. This game began a long slide into mediocrity due to injury/salary cap hell.
Crazy how dominant the Jags were that season. 14-2, dominating the Dolphins 62-7 the week before. But losing to one team 3 times as if they're kryptonite.
Man, the Jags could have had a bigger lead without a couple drops and an INT in the end zone...could have been up 24-7 and 24-10 at halftime.......made a huge difference in the game obviously. Steve McNair, my god, how many times did he get away and make a play. Jags fell apart in the second half with mistakes.
The End of a great story in the NFL. The rise of the Expansion Jaguars. Four consecutive playoff appearances. Two Division titles. Two conference championship games. And just like that, it was over.
It had to hurt bad to have the first seed, putting both Johnson and Marino into retirement in the divisional 63-7, just for all of that to end losing against the Titans.....
I remember the comeback the Titans had against Buffalo the game before and I was absolutely sick. I did not want to see the Titans again after losing to them twice already and them being the only 2 losses on the year. I knew going into that game it would be a loss they had Jax number that year.

I was 9 when this game was played but looking at these highlights closely it really looks as if Jacksonville gave this game away. Not taking anything away from McNair at all (R.I.P) but they had him several times & showed no effort to tackle him
They stole the playbook
That's a lot of fumbles
I loved the late 90s early 2000s football
Coughlin knew it at half-time, that endzone interception and fumbled punt return were going to come back to haunt the Jags
Crazy how dominant the Jags were that season. 14-2, dominating the Dolphins 62-7 the week before. But losing to one team 3 times as if they're kryptonite.
I Love This Video 📸 NFL Throwback 🏈 Great Job 👍 Keep Up The Good Work.
Now that the playoffs are set, one of the throwback games you should post is the wild card matchup between the Bills and Dolphins from 1998.
Miss the 1pm/10 am & 4 pm/1 pm starts of the Conference Championship games. Totally understand why they start the games later.
The Houston Texans will never know how this feels. Just being in the AFC Championship Game.
If it was a different universe in the 99/00 season we will see the Florida Bowl Jaguars vs Buccaneers
Florida Bowl in Georgia
@@otaviofrnazario I forgot SB 34 took place in Atlanta
Jaguars win that easily
Man, the Jags could have had a bigger lead without a couple drops and an INT in the end zone...could have been up 24-7 and 24-10 at halftime.......made a huge difference in the game obviously. Steve McNair, my god, how many times did he get away and make a play. Jags fell apart in the second half with mistakes.
The End of a great story in the NFL. The rise of the Expansion Jaguars.
Four consecutive playoff appearances.
Two Division titles.
Two conference championship games.
And just like that, it was over.
The look on Conklin's face at 10:28 when he realized the Jags were actually going to lose
Jacksonville went 14-2 in 1999, one of the most dominant teams ever except for against Tennessee, which beat them 3 times that year.
This Jags team was really darn good, 14-2 in the regular season, but couldn’t beat the titans, which ended up being the team’s downfall.
14 penalties, 10 fumbles, 3 picks, 6/20 third down conversions, a safety... not the finest game... and yet possibly the less ugly game that weekend!
Damn, this was one of those most entertaining games I've ever watched.
NFL Throwback needs to do Steve McNair human highlights
Sweet 2 end the Titans season 2022 season !! Go Jaguars 🐆 !!
PLEASE post the 62-7 divisional round game for this week.
Man the Jags had so much promise in those first few years and its just been downhill ever since
Those first few years are their glory period. They haven't been anything like that since.
@@kevinpayton2664 Well the Jags are on the way to winning their division after starting 3-7 and they have a young team led by a stud QB that's finally getting some coaching that is going to scare some teams if they manage to make the playoffs.
@@dsfddsgh They definitely got a shot. They are on a roll right now and they're heading the right direction.
what happened to the jags uniforms they used to be so nice
