Should I use vericulite + cocopeat or vermicompost + cocopeat. Both are available in India but no good mix is available. Plan to use in ratio 1:5 and for microgreens - sunflower, pea shoots and raddish.

How do you sterilize seeds, microgreens?

50ml hydrogen peroxide, 50ml white vinegar, 1-1.5L of purified water. May even look up adding 3-5 grams of baking soda. I've heard it prevents disease issues as well.
You definitely want to use this solution during the presoak for sunflower seeds. And can use it during germination for all seeds to prevent disease since this is prime time for mold to arise. Ya know, darkness, higher humidity, lack of air circulation, warmth (helps seeds germinate if you choose to adjust the temp.).
Don't use too much of the Hydrogen peroxide because it will burn the plants, but acts as a natural sanitizer to fungal, bacterial problems and converts to water after some time. White vinegar is edible and that's why these are the best ingredients for sanitizing seeds.

I think she is using 80% pro mix and 20% compost made by a local company. I could not hear the name of the compost product. Could you clarify? Thank you.

Has anybody incorporated live soil with micro greens?

I mix 1/3 native soil + 1/3 coir + 1/3 worm castings, run it through a 5mm screen and adjust PH with dolomite. This gives me incredible results for wheat grass. I'm still experimenting with other crops and mixes.

I get gnats when I try to use compost. Otherwise I would always use it. I am in South Florida.

Would cinnamon on the soil work for micro greens like sprouting vegetable seedlings to control nats? I figure since many bottom water that might be a solution. But perhaps it would affect flavor or something.

So let me get this straight. She was using only promix on some microgreens, then went to 50 / 50 on everything, and now only does compost?
