Who's excited for their Mini 4 Pro to arrive? I had a slip of the tongue in this video when talking about shutter speed, I meant to say 1 over 60, not 1 over 160. The info on screen was correct though. Happy Flying 😀
@SubArcticAdventures I'm excited for you Derek! The Mini 4 Pro is a fantastic first choice. Such a capable yet beginner friendly drone! Plenty more tips coming 😁
Me too…..ordered it last night and it’s due to deliver tomorrow. Currently have a mini 2 so it’s an upgrade for me. Most excited about the screen instead of using my phone, testing obstacle avoidance and getting my first well lit night photo!
Did YOU know that cruise control can add single parameters, cumulatively as you go? Say your flying forward , in cruise. Add some roll to the right with right stick. Yap assigned button "cruise control updated" appears briefly -now your doing two movements. Now add a bitbof throttle, left stick slightly forward. Tap assigned cruise button. Yep- you can keep adding, a parameter at a time (or removing them, if your good at inverse stick motions) this is how you add one motion at a time to existing path. It beats trying to get a multi-stick positions perfect all at once. Try it sometime.
I purchased my very first drone, mini4 pro, at the beginning of the week and getting ready for delivery in a couple of days. I have been watching videos like crazy and can not wait to start this new fun hobby.
I fly for work, RID is a must but adding a module means more setup time. 2 things I'm missing on the Mini 4 Pro is a means to turn RID on all the time regardless of the battery being used and changing my Aspect Ratio on the latest firmware/app. Great head screen!
Correction to what you said about ISO. ISO is just part of the exposure triangle, it is not always preferable to keep at 100 and does not always make the image more grainy. When considering the exposure of a certain shot ISO is one of the things you can adjust to get proper brightness, focus and detail. For example, if you have a very high shutter speed to capture a moving object, the image will be very dark, so raising your ISO would be one way to brighten the image back up. Just wanted to make sure folks know they have options when it comes to camera settings.
Yep very true. ISO is part of the triangle. I was aiming to keep things simple in this video and keeping the ISO at 100 for most daytime shooting will be perfect for most applications. I tend to stick with the 180 degree shutter rule for cinematics too so. But yep the image does stay pretty good till iso 800 then I start to notice some noise and grain coming in. And night shooting is a completely different animal 😁
@@JustinBainbridgeYT Also, the DJI Mini 4 Pro has dual native ISO. 100 is native, yes, but so is 800. Either of those ISOs will give you the best noise performance.
While shutter speed and aperture (f/stop) are creative choices that generally do not diminish image quality, ISO is a choice in the exposure triangle that can. While you are correct in that "it is not always preferable to keep (ISO) at 100, raising ISO inevitably raises the noise levels in an image. That is especially so in the shadow regions of an image. But, if you have to raise ISO levels to get a shot...that is preferable to not getting the shot, right? But because higher ISO's raise the noise floor in an image, reduce it's dynamic range and impact the image colors, it is the change of last resort. That said, the issue with noise is going away with the maturity of AI noise reduction software as provided by companies like Topaz and others. Those programs don't fix the dynamic range or color issues, but they are beyond amazing at reducing digital noise from high ISO settings.
I had a Mini 2 for two years, and have now upgraded to an M4P which I received just two days ago. Your tips were all good ones, so I did all of them - with the exception of buying DJI Care. (I guess I like to live dangerously, so I'll take my chances, as is.) Anyway, thanks for the video. I found it useful, especially the not-so-obvious tip about programming a button for the cruise control feature. Cheers!
Good stuff a nice upgrade going from the 2 to the 4! I'm glad you found the tips useful. Subject scanning will have to be turned on each flight you want to track. Dji doesn't save this setting for some reason. But I'm happy I could help. Enjoy the Mini 4 Pro!
Sir, I salute you a question : I own a mavic 2 pro It is very good in terms of quality and accuracy If I buy mini4 pro I find it has the same performance, quality, resolution and image sharpness as the Mavic 2 Pro?? Honest answer my friend please Commentaires Résultat Web avec des liens sitelink
To be perfectly honest with you. I don't feel like I can answer this question for you. Your best bet would be to find someone with a Mini 4 Pro that you could go out with and film together. Then you can compare footage to see if it's what you're looking for. The Mavic 2 Pro still delivers fantastic image quality. Although I can't compare to the Mini 4 Pro unfortunately. They will be similar as they can both record 4k but the difference in sensors, colour profile and image processing etc will have an effect on the resulting video footage. Without having both drones, I can't assist you more. Sorry about that 😔
One word of caution. Adding anything to the 4, even the small ND filters will raise the weight above 249 grams, thus reaching the requirement to to register the drone and fly under the American equivalent of Canadian RPAS Basic, if not flying in controlled airspace which requires Advanced rating. Personally, I don't worry about it, as most people wouldn't know if filter installed (landing gear another story) nor do most people know anything about drones plus there is a hell of a lot of wilderness up here and a large country with very few drone police. Chances of running into Transport Canada inspector is highly unlikely and if flying responsively, you should have no issues.
You're welcome! Exciting times ahead for you! There's pleny more helpful content for the Mini 4 Pro on my channel and more to come. Feel free to check it out 😀
Hey! I didn't need to do anything with it because there's a button on the screen that changes from horizontal to vertical. On the right-hand side, just near the record button.
That's great! Lucky you! I'm happy I can help you get to grips with the Mini 4 Pro and get the most out of it! Stay tuned, and I'm excited for you to get into the air! 😁
Dude! Me too! Nice wives, eh? Just did my first few flights yesterday!!! I’m sure everyone says this but I feel like I’m hooked instantly! Take yours out yet?
Very happy The Algorithm suggested your video. Far more useful information than the all videos showing the subject tracking over and over. Thanks for eating a fly for the team.
Great stuff! Glad you got some useful information from the video! I just want to make everyone's experience with the Mini 4 Pro as good as it can be. Haha hopefully the only fly I eat this summer 🤣 Thanks for watching and welcome to the community!
Helpme with manual controls:! Were you aware that the last and most crucial custom move didn'tSwitching those buttons. Acent - decent switch will result in at least 2 buttons being reversed incorrectly, preventing you from customizing them.. Customize your buttons 😢
This guy knows what he is talking about just solely on the fact that he told us to trash the portrait mode hot key and change it to anything else. I'd rather have it be a second photo button than a portrait mode but cruise control sounds nice lmao.
No problem, I've got a more in depth guide for Cruise control coming very soon too. I was in the South Australian Outback just near the Flinders Ranges
I don't get my 4 pro until tomorrow, but regarding cruise control- I saw it mentioned somewhere that it's possible to add different inputs in succession. For example, if you are going forward with a slight rotation and are in cruise mode, I think you can retain that movement and actually add an altitude change by giving the additional stick input and then long pressing the cruise button. I'm curious if that is true, because it would simplify creating multiple simultaneous inputs by allowing you to add them one at a time- rather than having to have them all held perfectly at the first press of the button.
Hey! Yes, you can add inputs in succession. So you can do exactly what you explain. You just short press the button again after adding the next input, and the screen will say, "Cruise control updated." You can get some really nice complex moves using this with very little effort! Hope this helps 😁
Thanks for this great video. One question: how do you find the screen on the RC 2 vs a good phone screen. 700 nits doesn't see very good for sunny days. Can you still see it in full sun and is it really usable or should I get the drone with the RC N2?
Hi, thanks for the kind words! I find the screen to be bright enough to see even on a very sunny day. I would sacrifice a little brightness for the convenience of not having to put my phone in the controller anyway, but theres not much of a sacrifice on the RC2.
Thank you! The camera can be started and stopped recording during return to home, and you should also be able to control the gimball. If you're not able to do this, I'd suggest checking if you're due a firmware update 😁

Hi, sorry I missed this comment, yes obstacle avoidance will work as normal in Cruise control. so active in Normal and Cine. and it will be deactivated in Sport mode.
@@JustinBainbridgeYT 400 feet wasn’t to fly over the mountains here. Then I read that in the US the Mini 4 Pro was allowed to go up to 1,640 feet. Now i don’t go straight up to that height, but it allows me to fly over the mountains (still less than a hundred feet above the trees). Couldn’t see much if I flew higher than that. I’m not a photographer. The gimbal just shows me where I’m going. I like to explore and find old hidden out buildings and barns. Just cool stuff.
I don’t know whether you actually noticed but when you were telling us that your shutter speed should be twice your full name rate and you said your frame rate was 30 frames per second instead of saying that the shutter speed should be one over 60 you said one over 160
How bright is the screen on the rc2? I'm more likely to purchase the RC N2 so I can use it with my mobile which I find has a better screen and access to updates easily
It's plenty bright enough, and a phone screen will get brighter, but I have no issues seeing it on a bright day so I'm happy. Plus you can just set your phone as a mobile hotspot if you still want the radio to be connected whilst flying out and about
Hey! After making this video i discovered that subject scanning can only be turned on during flight. And unfortunately it defaults back to off everytime you turn the drone on. I will reach out to DJI and put this forward as an update suggestion!
Have they figured out a way to disable the No Fly Zones yet? Thats whats keeping me from buying one. Too many times my buddy was unable to launch his mini, when my non dji mini flew just fine. We were nowhere near a NFZ, but his controller had no cell connection and wouldnt allow him to launch.
How strange. Most restricted zones you can still fly if you just put your phone number in when you try and take off etc. Failing that there are some 3rd party apps which can get around this but you'll need to have the RCN2 controller so you can use your phone for the modded fly app
Hey mate! I was in the South Australian outback and it was fly season 😂 not the ideal place for filming a video but we keep going 😂 no worries haha, I have a full video on Cruise control with some more info on how to get the most out of it, if you want to learn more! 😃
Hey, It's not absolutely necesasry, but it will help you to get better video and pictures. Especially because a very high shutter speed can cause nasty oversharpening of the image on these small cameras 😃
I believe it to be the best value drone available at the moment. The feature set and quality of footage you get from it is astonishing. India is fairly strict with drones, and you will need to register ahead of time for permission to use it. They can confiscate the drone at the airport without the correct documents, so I would just check what you have to do beforehand 😀
You'll be fine with the fly more combo. It's only if you're going to be doing alot of flying in one day that you'll really make use of the plus batteries. I do a lot of filming in a day and still struggle to depleat all 3 plus batteries.
Thank you so much for your help. I have osmo action 4 and want to bring the drone for cycling, hiking with me. So I won't shoot too much time.@@JustinBainbridgeYT
Hey! That's awesome! Yes, I do offer this! Please either send an email to - justinb.creator@gmail.com or send me a message on Instagram @justinbbridge and we can have a chat 😃
Sure thing! Your main considerations should be how often do you travel and is size a big issue. If you're travelling alot then the mini 4 pro makes much more sense. If you typically fly in high wind environments alot then the Air 3 will be a better choice. Lastly do you need the 2nd camera that the Air 3 has or is one enough? I think you get 90% of the way to the Air 3 with the Mini 4 Pro, but some people still want the larger drone. 😃
I would definitely reccomend the Mini 4 Pro. It has so many features that make it a very beginner friendly drone. Plus you won't out grow it very quickly as it's a seriously capable machine. 😁
Can that I find your channel. I’m buying one this weekend. I’m a motorcycle blogger UA-camr and I’m looking to get some amazing shots on my travels. I’m subscribed
Yep, you're 100% right, but ramping up the shutter speed will also take away the natural motion blur that gives the footage a more cinematic look. But at high altitudes, it doesn't really make a difference to ramp up the SS as you're not close enough to anything to get motion blur. Thanks for the kind words 😁 Yes they suck do bad 😂 can't wait to be away from them that's for sure!
It's on the screen in the first clip of the screen recording at 1:16 not sure why it disappeared after that. Maybe a glitch as this was filmed very soon after launch
Optimal will also use obstacle avoidance to plan a safe route back to the home point, so in that situation, it's whatever you feel most comfortable with 😃
Nope, it's a nice safe height. I have the RTH set to optimal on the M4P and it normally flies an arc to get back home so it acsends slowly and thehn descends slowly rather than just climbing all the way up immidiately. I think this is the most effecient way of doing it. 😃
Thank you! I get my backing tracks from Artlist. Here's a video where I explain the importance of sound in drone footage. Here's the link - ua-cam.com/video/ohbeU_fS1BU/v-deo.html I will check which tracks I used in this video and get back to you! 😁
Hey, I havent yet flown the Mini 4 Pro through the goggles. I will be trying it out at some point though so hopefully I can give you some more info in the future.
Amazing scenery and great footage! I subscribed to see more Videos made by you. Dji Mini 4 is an awesome little drone. I own one myself too and create cinematic Videos. Keep it up bro! 👌🏽 Fantastic
It sure can! I have a video on active tracking releasing later today and some of that was filmed in 4k60 so I could slow it down to look more cinematic 🎥
Great stuff! It's such a powerful feature on the Mini 4 Pro. It's useful for so much more than just getting to a location. Thanks for subscribing! It's great to have you around here 😁
Hey, you should be able to do this by installing the DJI fly app on your phone, you should then be able to connect this to the drone and download the videos straight to your phone 😁
@@JustinBainbridgeYT I haven't had a smart controller until now. On the mini 3 I had a DJI RC-N1. I hope the signal is better and the range is better than the regular controller with the new ocusync 4 :)

How strange. Most restricted zones you can still fly if you just put your phone number in when you try and take off etc. Failing that there are some 3rd party apps which can get around this but you'll need to have the RCN2 controller so you can use your phone for the modded fly app
Mate! Great video and super informative. I have to ask, where the H3ll are you with all those flys/mozzies? Crazy! Love the cruise control tip!
Hey mate! I was in the South Australian outback and it was fly season 😂 not the ideal place for filming a video but we keep going 😂 no worries haha, I have a full video on Cruise control with some more info on how to get the most out of it, if you want to learn more! 😃
Does the mini 4 pro provide good quality still images in raw format? Thanks Kev from Yorkshire.
Hi Kev, Yep Raw images are still very good quality from the Mini 4 Pro! 😃
Is it absolutely necessary to buy the ND filter?
Hey, It's not absolutely necesasry, but it will help you to get better video and pictures. Especially because a very high shutter speed can cause nasty oversharpening of the image on these small cameras 😃
My mini 4 is in transit, due today...😊
Very useful video thank you.
Amazing, have you taken it out to fly yet? I'm excited for you!
Just ordered one I had the mini 2 but this is a beast love it 😀, great video tutorial thank you subscribed
Yes it's a big step up from the Mini 2 haha I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Welcome to the community!
@@JustinBainbridgeYT thank you 🙂
Kinda pricey 1300 for the drone with battery ect. I hope it’s really good though as I’m going on a trip to India in a weeks time and take it with
I believe it to be the best value drone available at the moment. The feature set and quality of footage you get from it is astonishing. India is fairly strict with drones, and you will need to register ahead of time for permission to use it. They can confiscate the drone at the airport without the correct documents, so I would just check what you have to do beforehand 😀
Cruise control.... Who knew? 👍🏻👍🏻 Great vid... Currently working my way through all you content 😁
Yep! It's one of my favourite features of the Mini 4 Pro! Great stuff, there's plenty of helpful stuff here to get through, and plenty more to come 😁
How far is flight test .. in miles
In a FCC region a couple of miles is achievable with good line of sight
Fly drone with fly net. Yes i agree. I want to try with my drone. Nice video
Haha, give it a go! Thank you!
ı have just bought fly more combo, should ı change it to the fly more combo plus?
You'll be fine with the fly more combo. It's only if you're going to be doing alot of flying in one day that you'll really make use of the plus batteries. I do a lot of filming in a day and still struggle to depleat all 3 plus batteries.
Thank you so much for your help. I have osmo action 4 and want to bring the drone for cycling, hiking with me. So I won't shoot too much time.@@JustinBainbridgeYT
For the same money can purchase this mini 4 pro w RC2 controller or new Avata2 w Goggles3. Decisions decisions !!! I really cannot decide
Yeah it's hard to decide! You'll figure out which one to get soon! 😃
I’m in Bali too, Canggu. Do you offer 1:1 Drone training? I have a Dji mini 4
Hey! That's awesome! Yes, I do offer this! Please either send an email to - justinb.creator@gmail.com or send me a message on Instagram @justinbbridge and we can have a chat 😃
Will the drone perform bypass while in cruise control?
I haven't tried putting the drone I this type of situation before. I'll test it out and report back! 😁
Could you help me choose between Mini 4 and Air 3??
@@JustinBainbridgeYT thank you 🙏
thanks mate ! ur tips are life saver !!!
No problem mate! 😁
Brillian video, im waiting for my 4 pro arriving after crashing my SE 😮😂😂
You're welcome! That's a nice upgrade! You're going to love the Mini 4 Pro. It's Fantastic 😃
Came here for tips ended up laughing out loud at that flies situstion😂 OMG why is this so hilarious 😂😂😂
P.S. Thanks for the tips ☀️
hahaha yeah the flies were a pain in the ass at the time, but looking back it's quite funny to watch 😂
Great vid. Thanks 🙏 just bought one. Excited 😊
Thank you! Ah you're going to love it! 😃
@@JustinBainbridgeYT love it 🙌
Very helpful -cant wait to get my mini 4 pro! Thank you!!
Thank you! That's great I can't wait for you to get it either! It's such a great little drone 😁
Great advice thank you
You're welcome 😃
Awesome video, I can’t wait to buy the Mini 4 Pro, thanks
Hi what model would you recommend for a beginner ta
I would definitely reccomend the Mini 4 Pro. It has so many features that make it a very beginner friendly drone. Plus you won't out grow it very quickly as it's a seriously capable machine. 😁
Can that I find your channel. I’m buying one this weekend. I’m a motorcycle blogger UA-camr and I’m looking to get some amazing shots on my travels. I’m subscribed
That's awesome, I'm glad you enjoy the content, and I'm excited for you to get up in the air and flying! What kind of motorcycle do you ride?
can it do flips?
Nope, this is a cinematic stabilised drone. For flips you need an FPV drone 😃
Note: over brightness is corrected by increasing shutter speed, not just using an ND filter. Nice video, those fly's suck though.
That you wouldn't adjust your fly hood screen's seam to the rear hemisphere of yer noggin is impressive nonchalance, my friend.
Hahaha, I actually didn't notice this until I watched the video back. Some days I do embody a lot of nonchalance 😃
I am curious...I notice your screen does not show the icon for waypoints
It's on the screen in the first clip of the screen recording at 1:16 not sure why it disappeared after that. Maybe a glitch as this was filmed very soon after launch
Wonderful instructions
Are you in Australia ? They seem to have a lot of flies there.
At the time of the video yep I was in the Australian outback. Lots and lots of flies out there haha
But if I am around a lot trees isn’t preset RTH better?
Optimal will also use obstacle avoidance to plan a safe route back to the home point, so in that situation, it's whatever you feel most comfortable with 😃
@ thank you! Hey random if you were flying around mountains and trying to get a good video would you try to do pov or circle in quick shots?
RTH defaults at 100m altitude. Is that too high?
Nope, it's a nice safe height. I have the RTH set to optimal on the M4P and it normally flies an arc to get back home so it acsends slowly and thehn descends slowly rather than just climbing all the way up immidiately. I think this is the most effecient way of doing it. 😃
Great video! What are the background tracks?
Thank you! I get my backing tracks from Artlist. Here's a video where I explain the importance of sound in drone footage. Here's the link - ua-cam.com/video/ohbeU_fS1BU/v-deo.html
I will check which tracks I used in this video and get back to you! 😁
Solid review, thanks bro.
Thanks bro!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
You're welcome! 😃
Great Video!…looking into purchasing this drone as my first…thank you Justin!…new subscriber 👍
Hey! It's the perfect first drone in my opinion! Hope you enjoy it if you decide to make the purchase. Welcome to the community 😁
Great video mate. I haven’t flown mine yet. Just been watching all the tutorial videos first. Thanks for making this one.
Thanks mate! I'm excited for you to get flying. You're going to love it! 😁
Is thedji care available to the uk?
Yep, care refresh is available in the Uk
Now I understand what they mean by the More-Fly combo!🙂
I cant seem to activate Subject Scan? Great videos by the way.
Hi there, You can only turn on subject scanning once you're flying 😃
Can you shoot raw on mini 4 pro if you fly with motion controller? I see that goggles do not give such an option and even jpeg are very small
Fantastic
That's awesome bro! Yeah the scenery is beautiful here. I'll have to take a look at some of your videos! Thanks for subscribing and supporting! ✊️
Can it shoot 4k60 while active tracking?
It sure can! I have a video on active tracking releasing later today and some of that was filmed in 4k60 so I could slow it down to look more cinematic 🎥
Nice im definitely gonna be using the new cruise control. You have a new subscriber well done
Great stuff! It's such a powerful feature on the Mini 4 Pro. It's useful for so much more than just getting to a location. Thanks for subscribing! It's great to have you around here 😁
How do you transfer the photos/videos to your iPhone or iPad?
Hey, you should be able to do this by installing the DJI fly app on your phone, you should then be able to connect this to the drone and download the videos straight to your phone 😁
Justin.. great video pal very informative.
Thank you! I'm glad you got value from it! 😁
Thank you so much
You're welcome!
Thanks and good video.
You're welcome 😃
Let's go flying 😀🇧🇷 awesome
Outstanding
Thank you! 😃
Nice, very informative video, short, subscribed!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Welcome to the community! 😃
Tomorrow my mini 4 arrives. after the mini 3 pro i hope i will be satisfied. I am buying an rc controller for the first time. :)
That's so exciting! You're going to love it! The new RC2 controller is fantastic as well! Much better than the first generation!
@@JustinBainbridgeYT I haven't had a smart controller until now. On the mini 3 I had a DJI RC-N1. I hope the signal is better and the range is better than the regular controller with the new ocusync 4 :)
Great video can’t wait to upgrade from my m3P to the m4P 🙌🏾 just subscribed
Thank you! Ah, that's exciting, when are you thinking of upgrading?
Thank you for these info
