Is there a chat replay? I want to see! Also, yeah this series has so many names, no one blames you for not knowing. But read that book behind you and it will be easier!
Ned's death where he 'confesses' to be a traitor was included in the compilation to show that he would lie to protect his family, even if that has negative consequences for himself. That's what he also did for Jon when he claimed he was his bastard.
I realised recently that I think it is also to show that in that moment he could have revealed the truth about Jon because it may well have been his last chance, but as he most likely still feared for Jon's safety, he didn't. Which, as you said, he put his family before all else.
They also show his conversation with Varys. Ned would rather die than dishonour his house but as soon as it comes down to his children he accepts the worst fate he can think of. He would gladly die for his kingdom, he would only ever compromise what he believes is right for his family.
i thought it was cus in reality not only her children, but he needed to keep his promise to his sister, so he sacrificed his honor in the public eye, to keep his true honor
@@matth1589 I think the wording is important here. In the eyes of Ned, Honor and doing the right thing often had an overlap, but especially in the case of Jon, there wasn't. Even if it dishonored his house and himself for taking on Jon as a bastard, it was the *right* thing to do
So Jon‘s grandpa had his other grandpa burned alive, while having Jon‘s uncle strangle himself to death. Then Jon‘s grandpa requested the head of Jon‘s other uncle. This uncle joined the rebellion that ultimately killed Jon‘s dad, in an attempt to free Jon‘s mom. All clear now? 😉
@Eddie LM i think i watched an interview with D&D and they said they told him before the whole thing even started filming because they wanted him specifically for the role
George told him, season GRRM said he told each cast member a secret about their character, but said he swore them to secrecy. I think he had to tell sean bean before the goodbye, the emotion in his eyes both in that scene and and before when Cat was being a hateful B**** to him when he told coma bran bye. Sean felt neds pain and conflict. Benjen knew. Just the things he was saying and the sparkle in his eye everytime he had seen jon before he disappeared. He loved his sister. My biggest question is does anyone think Aemon knew, and that's why he always had Jon's back? And that's why he marked the passage in the jade compendium for jon to read and why he gave jon the same advice as Egg
Yeah... him tearing up when he was talking to Jon about his mother... Such wonderful acting and given the knowledge.. I dunno if for book readers that it was already known who his mother was but if it wasn't, that is definitely an Alan Rickman "I know something you don't" to the director moment. It's so tragic that Ned never got to tell Jon, and thus tell Lady Stark. So she died believing that her noble husband was unfaithful.
Lol it was so good! When they saw the cut from baby Jon to Jon now and did their initial freak out I had to rewind it right away and rewatch that moment over and over, I did that 5 or 6 times giggling each time. Then I finally allowed it to play through and Nikki says that and I'm like, Seriously?? LOL it was so good!
6:29 Watch Littlefinger's face. 8:33 "The next time we see each other, we'll talk about your mother." The next time they would have seen each other, Jon would be a sworn brother of the Night's Watch and thus beyond the reach of Robert's wrath, so Ned would feel confident he could tell Jon the truth. 16:42 "I don't know if anyone else knows." If you remember the fight outside the Tower of Joy, it was Howland Reed - Meera and Jojen's father - who saved Ned's life. So surely Ned would have had to tell him why he comes back out of the tower carrying a baby and swear him to secrecy. There's also the couple of ladies-in-waiting who helped at the birth, though who knows who they are, if they are important, or what happened to them.
apparently Littlefinger knew or atleast suspected something...Maybe not Jons parentage but he must have known about Rhaegar anand Lyanna being togheter willingly because of that smirk.
yes, it was kinda known or at least a very well known ruomor, but the victors write history and robert couldn't accept it. so the "official" story is that she got kidnapped
I doubt book Littlefinger knows anything more than what the commonfolk know about Lyanna. Maybe the show was trying to hint that Littlefinger had already put two and two together. I don't know.
EDIT: MODS THIS COMMENT IS A SPOILER I get from the look on his face that he knows there was affection there and that Lyanna ran away with Rhaegar willingly, but that's all he knows.
@@aussiejed1 hit enter a few times under just your spoiler warning and the rest will go under a read more so the mods don't delete out the whole thread because they can't delete replies in the comments, only the original comments.
No she should have apologized. I mean she said that with not a single hint of doubt and sheer confidence. I have watched hundreds of reactions on that moment and not one had ever said Baratheon.
N B Good news for you, you don't have to watch. Nikki and Steve are the best. They spend time breaking everything down and figuring stuff out. Nikki figured it out 10 seconds after she said it. Hell I've got a buddy who thought that episode was implying that Ned slept with his sister. It wasn't that cut and dry pal
It amazes me how much all these pretentious cunts. Pretending to be so smart. When they have read all the theories and had YEARS in between the start of the series until that reveal. It's just disgusting how some try to pretend they are so much smarter than others over a tv show or book. That apparently is their life smh .
So Robert kills Rhaegar in battle and Ned goes off to recover his sister. And he finds her with this Targaryen child. How many hard decisions did he have to make on that day? If Robert is this vengeful as an old king, still intent on killing every Targaryen he can find...how crazed must he have been as a young stag? Ned's got to tell him Lyanna is dead, he's got to bring her body home. He can't afford any questions. He can't afford to have anyone putting all the pieces together. Any hint of Jon's parentage will put the child in danger. Any offhand comment made in all innocence by a wife who may be convinced she can trust her sister, or her uncle, or her father, or Peter Baelish. I'm one of the few who agrees with Ned's choice not to tell Catelyn. Catelyn, who arrested Tyrion without consideration of what this would mean to her family in King's Landing. Catelyn, who released Jaime without consideration for what this would mean to Robb and his leverage over the Lannisters. She may have had the best of intent in both situations...I wouldn't have trusted her with the truth about the child brought home from that war - though it might well cost me years of strife in my marriage. He'd made a promise to his dying sister. Honor is no easy road.
Great comment, thank you! I also want to emphasize that harboring a "dragonspawn" might have even be considered treason in the eyes of Robert, because any Targaryen kid (even being a bastard) might in the future raise armies to claim back the throne. There was a big line of Targaryen bastards (the Blackfyres) who provoked several horrible wars in the past claiming their right to rule, so that kind of "King's blood" is very dangerous to the "Usurper". That's why Rhaegar's children were killed and Robert wanted to kill Viserys and Danerys. Ned protected Jon's secret for all those years, because he promised Lyanna, and because he loved that boy, but he also was protecting himself and Cat and his real biological children, because if it was discovered he would have been considered a traitor... and all hell would have broken loose for his family (as it kind of happened anyway).
I always loved that everyone bought the lie about Jon's parents, because it allowed men with stained honor to believe that Ned's honor was stained as well. Whereas Stannis, as rigid and unwavering a man as existed, doubted it because Stannis understood Ned as a kindred spirit about doing what's right in the face of what's practical.
Watch the Tower of Joy scene again; why were the Kingsguard there? KG only protect the royal family. In S3 Tyrion goes on to Cersei about the only people who can give an order to a Kingsguard: royalty. Ned asked Dayne: why weren't they fighting for & protecting Prince Rhaegar at the Trident? Why didn't they ride to Prince Viserys once Rhaegar and his family were dead? "Our prince wanted us here", said Ser Arthur Dayne. They knew who was in the tower and what that meant. More importantly, why did the 3 Eyed Raven think this moment in history was important enough to revisit with Bran? Don't forget who else was at the Tower of Joy: Howland Reed, Meera's father. Interesting that everyone except Robert refers to Rhaegar in positive terms. Even Oberyn (who has every right to be pissed) calls Rhaegar "beautiful and noble". I love the scene between Tormund & Davos before the Battle of the Bastards when they talk about following Mance and Stannis. Tormund says "Jon Snow's not a king." Jon's identity is so dangerous that Ned didn't even tell his wife, preferring to live with the blow to his reputation rather than reveal potentially risky info to those he loved. Over and over the Stark kids say "Father never talked about her" when discussing Lyanna. Jon is ice & fire, the literal embodiment of the book series title "A Song of Ice And Fire". This is likely the reason Jon was kept away from the feast in the 1st episode. Ned didn't want Jon anywhere near Robert or the Lannisters, people who knew Rhaegar in life.
The tower of joy exchange was a great tip-off! Dude leaves his best fighter to guard a tower far from the war, so you know it's gotta be something important. Combined with the "Robert can't know" whispered by Lyanna, they pretty much seal it. So good!
@@rafetizer The Tower of Joy exchange in the books is what confirmed everything for me. Dayne, Hightower, & Whent are the finest KG left & the closest to Rhaegar. That they stayed at the TOJ in their capacities as KG is the key: only legitimate royalty commands them. They only protect legitimate royalty. Dayne says it to Ned straight out: "The Kingsguard does not flee - we swore a vow." BOOM. Doesn't matter how much they loved Rhaegar personally or what he asked them to do before he died; the KG would not refrain from protecting Rhaegar in battle or Viserys at Dragonstone unless person(s) of EQUAL legitimacy & importance needed them more. The KG would not & did not remain to protect the mistress and/or bastard of a dead Prince, no matter how much they loved him. Dayne's final words to Ned always give me chills: "I wish you good fortune in the wars to come." Dayne knew 2 things for sure: he & the KG had to eliminate any possible witnesses to what was in the tower. And that no matter who survived, Jon's existence would create a war. This war would rage either within Ned internally, or externally and therefore across the 7 kingdoms. Either way, there would be great conflict. Robert wouldn't be the only person wanting Jon dead; the massively wealthy, connected, & powerful family of his new queen would too. Tywin & Jaime had both just demonstrated they were 100% willing to kill Targaryens, including any wives, children, & heirs. Hell, Cersei alone would do it; her reasons for hating Lyanna ran deep. Cersei dreamt of & expected for years she'd marry Prince Rhaegar, but ended up with King Robert. Both of the men she desired desperately loved someone else: Lyanna. And Lyanna knew it up to her last, terrified breath. Makes the scenes at TOJ so much sadder once you realize the full picture & it's implications.
@@xajaso Also, not once did Ned ever talk ill of Rhaegar. If one is to believe the kidnap and rape story, Ned would have plenty of reasons to dislike the Targaryens.
@@lambowolf Good point! His POV chapters in the 1st book (AGOT) reveal his torment & worry for Jon & his painful memories of Lyanna's final moments. His only fleeting thoughts about Rhaegar indicate he bore the man no ill will - extraordinarily odd if Rhaegar kidnapped & raped his beloved sister, inadvertently causing her death, the deaths of their father & brother, and tens of thousands of people in Robert's Rebellion. Add to this his distaste for and refusal to take part in Robert's campaign to kill the last Targaryens; again, odd if he believes Rhaegar destroyed his family.
@RheyaRu!z they literally got it themselves and you are upset because you think they should have not gotten it. You cannot dictate whether or not someone got something because you feel like they shouldn't have.
@twosquirrelly that makes absolutely no sense. It being written down in a family tree does not matter. If your mom has you with your dad and then cheats on your dad and has a baby with someone else, are you not related to that baby? It's not written down on a piece of paper so you can only think that you're related you can't automatically know that you're related because you have the same mother? You have to have it written down on a piece of paper in a family tree style in order for it to be your sibling? Being a bastard literally does not change who he shares blood with. They don't need to be added to family trees, even though they are in all of the Targaryen family trees, to be blood related to someone. They aren't fully blood-related, but they are blood related. So, no one needs to be legitimised in order for benjen to be Jon's uncle before the reveal of e10 Jon doesn't need to be legitimized in order for lyanna and rhaegar to be his parents and Dany to be his aunt by blood. Rhaegar is still his dad and rhaegar is still Dany's brother therefore, regardless of being a bastard or not Danny is still is Aunt and Jon is her nephew by blood, Not by a piece of paper. Regardless, your entire theory is thrown out the window because Jon is a bastard and in season 1, Robb calls him his brother, Arya calls him his brother, Benjen calls him his nephew. According to you, they can't do that because they're not related because he's not on a family tree. Nikki and Steven cannot figure out blood relations because it's not on a piece of paper in family tree Style? What does that even mean?
I did not mean to spoil or upset anyone. I made the honest mistake of commenting before the video ended. Was excited to see this reaction because I love these two. Sorry I got all game of thrones dorky.
One thing that is emphasized in the books, but not touched on much in the show, is Arya's similarity in both personality and appearance to Lyanna. Lyanna was also a tomboy, interested in riding horses and fighting, and had no interest in more traditional "lady-like" pursuits. Both are said to be wild and have the wolf's blood. The show definitely gave a nod to their physical resemblance -- the actress who plays Lyanna was specifically cast to look like Maisie Williams. Through this we really see the strong bond between Arya and Jon as two outcasts of the Stark family.
In the beginning of the first book, I forget whose POV it was, I think Arya's, but it's noted that she and Jon both look like Ned while all the other Stark kids look Tully. (They really fell down on that in the show.) Then Ned has a chat with Arya and is like hey, you look like Lyanna. Blink and you'd miss it and the logical conclusion is that if Arya and Jon look alike and Arya looks like Lyanna... There you go.
*Howland Reed* The father of Meera and Jojen. He knows. He was with Ned that day at the tower with Lyanna. He was Ned's closest friend after Robert Baratheon. He is still alive. He sent his kids to aid Bran, and it's implied that being a seer, like Jojen was, runs in the Reed bloodline and that Howland himself may have the sight...
Who cares if people 'laugh' at you regarding your reactions or line of thinking! Absolutely DO NOT apologise. I'm sure I (and a lot of other audiences) have thought of "stupid" conclusions or made completely illogical conjectures at the time of watching. You only get the full picture after a few hours or days of perhaps watching episode recaps and analysis online, or speaking with other people. When you 'get it wrong' that's what makes (your) reactions real and authentic. Someone who understands absolutely everything , and even comprehending all the foreshadowing at the time of watching is boring; no element of surprise or joy in the reactions.
Exactly! Only people, who have thought every single possible theory beforehand, would not be confused at some point. And who cares if u say some name wrong? Only a very annoying nerd would seriously complain about something like that.
@RheyaRu!z how many times do Nikki and Steve need to say that rhaegar's the father before you quit treating them like they're stupid. You wanted them to not get it and now you are upset because they got it. They got it at the reaction, they got it before even watching this video, they got it and you are upset about it. You wanted them to not get it and you have been upset about them getting it since yesterday because you think they should have not gotten it. you are trying to dictate how another person's brain works because of how you *feel*
The moment when Melisandre first sees Jon through the fire takes on a whole new meaning once you know who Jon is. You guys kept saying "Why is Melisandre so interested in Jon?" and I was sure you'd figure it out!!!
Nikki I loved it when you kept saying Rhaegar's name wrong and the whole Jon's a Baratheon. It made me love your guys reactions even more. That reaction video is my favourite out of all of your videos.
but that 4 or so min of "chaos" is the best reaction ever, not fake, you are both so invested in this show. It's what makes you both so awesome! Keep it up!
Only character I heart more than Jon Snow is Arya. And she has absolutely no interest in sitting on any throne. Adorable little murder machine is the best!
mickys333 nooooo, worst ending ever. With Cersei hopefully dead, she should put her assassin days behind her and stay with her family, assuming anyone survives.🤞
Well I don't think Jon has any interest sitting on any throne either...he didn't choose to be "King in the North". Oh and BTW Arya is described in the book as being most alike (both in appearance and her character) to Lyanna and it's said she also bears most resemblance to Jon of all Ned's children....this is one of the key links for ppl who were reading the books to come up with the "theory" about Jon's true parentage. Jon and Arya were also very close to each other as well...she was with him more than with her other siblings.
@@Nandrall18-25 GoT doesn't do happy endings my friend we all know that. Either that's what happens and Jon ends up on the Iron throne or he dies (or both of them do) and somebody else will sit on the throne. Either way I think Sansa will end up as Lady of Winterfell and Arya won't be staying in Westeros or at least at Winterfell. It definitely will be a bittersweet ending.
How many men have cheated on their wives and lied about it? All of them? The vast majority? I think we can all agree that it was more than a few. How many men have NOT cheated on their wives and lied about it? Just one - Ned Stark.
I loved that comment on the previous video when someone said he heard you saying Baratheon Targaryen he jumped off the building 😂 😂 😂 I guess he was commenting from heaven I don't think they would let him keep his cellular device in the 7 hells lol
@Age Of The Witch Can they do two part videos of every episode in season 7? Since it has only 7 episodes and the story progresses faster there also it's the LAST season ATM.
@@kevin1233803 I would love to see 2 parts for all Episodes except the first one wasn't a long enough Episode to be done in two parts , however it all depends on Steven he is doing an amazing job as it is so it would be insensitive if we demand it am sure he will if he can and has the time , he ALWAYS listens and reads requests and cares about making them happen for you guys*
@@TheMaskedChef7 Agreed. Also I'm seriously considering supporting them via Patreon and as a bonus, they also have extended reactions there, so it's a win-win scenario. But thank you so much for answering my question
There's a really cool theory/situation in the books involving Jon and Catelyn, where Cat was revived (similar to Berric Dondarion) after the Red Wedding and was "alive" when Jon is betrayed by the Night's Watch. The theory was that Cat would be the one to revive Jon by giving up her "life" for him, redeeming herself for mistreating him and failing to keep her promise about being a mother to him. There are a lot more details but that's the bare bones of it. I always thought that would have been a pretty awesome way for Jon's story to go. Anyway, awesome reactions as always, you two :-)
I have heard this theory also but Cateyn is no near Jon in the books. Some people believe it is Sherry (Stannis's daughter who going be burn to bring Jon's back to life.)
You should do a reaction to the Coldplay Game of Thrones Musical too. Pretty sure you're way passed any spoilers for that one. Check with the mods though, could be wrong.
Save all of those supplemental GOT videos until after they've completed season 7. That way they'll have GOT content to tide us over with until season 8 drops.
It's litterally after that episode that I had this reveal about Jon. I was like, "what? maybe there's something more to it?" ...and well, the show is helping here, you have 2 really different pov about Rhaegar (from Sansa and from Barristan) in the same episode, which raises some questions haha
@@zTheWizard Not that weird. The throne has been conquered by Baratheons with the Starks' help. So people take their pov as the truth (history books are written by winners after all). But if you look a little further, you'd learn or remember that Rhaegar was honorable and loved by many. With that knowledge - and we all know that Littlefinger is very fond of knowledge ;) - it's not very hard to make hypothesis that there may be more to the story Robert told everyone.
@@Lunelaya you can assume that *maybe* people would think that Rhaegar didn't kidnap and rape Lyanna based on the love towards him. But there is no way to know the truth. It doesn't matter if Littlefinger is smart, he is not omniscient.
The "he's a BARATHEON!!" *Mind explosion* part was one of the greatest, most honest reactions of all time. The scene was super chaotic and trying to decipher everything right away was bound to be confusing. One of my favorite reactions OF ALL TIME.
What a lovely surprise this is, thanks Nikki and Steven, had no doubt you would actually figure what was happening once everything cooled down. Such a great reaction guys
You guys are so great. I’m so happy I found you guys. This video is still on my regular playlist. I took my daughters to the GOT concert and we legit cried when the sad violin music played. The violinist was raised up while she played. It was so beautiful but brought back terribly painful memories. Keep creating guys! Much love!
Actually the big reaveal in season seven, of which you are referring is something else entirely. GOT always intended this as the full reveal of Jon's parentage. They even put out a family tree, explicitly stating who Jon's father was after the season 6 finale. NO SPOILERS HERE.
RheyaRu!z The show reveals that Rhaegar is his Dad in the Season 6 finale. The only people who don’t think that are conspiracy nuts who ignore facts. HBO literally released a family tree after the episode “confirming” it. But if I was a mod, I would remove your spoilery comment that something else about it (not that his father his Rhaegar, which again, you are told in 610) being revealed in S7.
Do NOT apologise for anything. If somebody got triggered or offended at your reactions, they can cry as many salty rivers as they like, but you got nothing to apologise for. It was a 100% genuine reaction and it was funny, emotional, sweet and really interesting to watch. Season 7, Leeet's GO! ;)
What a rad surprise! Didn’t think this one was gonna happen! Suddenly a notification on my phone said that you guys reacted to this vid.... My wife couldn’t understand why I was cheering so loud, haha! I freaking love this channel 🙂
Your reactions were so good! You didn’t have any help. I stumbled upon a lot prior and watched theory videos so I knew and still I was blown away. Jon’s my favorite since the first ever episode. This show is so brilliant it’s going to be brutal when it’s over.
Your reaction to the tower of joy was so great because it was the only reaction I’ve ever seen that didn’t have a heads up on R+L=J. A big round of applause to the mods for helping to keep you guys unspoiled. You guys rock!
Hogwarts Reacts didn't know either. Because she was reacting with people who had already seen the show, she was able to watch the R + L = J video immediately after the Tower of Joy scene. Coincidentally, she does the "mind blown" gesture like Nikki.
I highly recommend it. It's a little different dynamic than most, because for the first six seasons, everyone except Hogwarts has seen the show, and knows what's going to happen. Season 7 is more of a true group reaction.
Richard Hassler - I’ll watch the Tower of Joy episode right now, it’ll probably be a while before I can watch other reactions from the beginning. These two are like my 6th or 7th reactors lol
Oh!!! I have watched her before! I watched Red Wedding and a few other big moments, including some s7 episodes. Yeah I love her! Thanks for reminding me lol
It’s was like Christmas morning as a kid again when I woke up to this notification!! We all love Jon Snow as much as you guys 🤗 one of the best executed plot twists of all time
Such humility guys! Love your reaction to this. Finally we can all take a breath. On a side note another clip which I wish had been included in this compilation was the start of Bran's vision at the tower of joy. Just to realise the emblem on the kings guards armour and listen to their dialogue. "Why weren't you there to protect your prince?" "Our prince wanted us here". Now what could be so important to the crown prince that he would instruct is own personal honour guard to be elsewhere than at his side at a major battle. And now we know . . .
Sean Bean is just amazing, his acting, his facial expressions are just spot on: That scene where Ned Stark and Jon Snow talk for the last time was just plain beautiful.
This may be a book spoiler but just want to say that Robert and Lyanna were only betrothed, not in any other kind of relationship. She wasn’t exactly happy about it either because she believed he would always be unfaithful and that “love cant change a mans nature”.
Please don't apologise. I LOVED both of your reactions. Even tho there were the occassional facepalms, the hilarity of it all was fantastic. The best reaction ever! especially Stevens baratheon/targareon mix had other connotations hinted 🤣😂🤣
What I love about this channel is that the reactions are genuine. There's an absurd amount to keep track of in this series, and seeing you guys react in a genuine manner is wonderful!
The brilliance of game of thrones. So much hints & foreshadowing that we look beyond. When put together you realise how much sense it makes. It gives a new meaning to the actions of charaters on the show & ever thing fits in properly.
After season six, I don't think it was confirmed that Rhaegar Targaryen was Jon Snow's father. It was certainly the prevailing theory, but no one knew for sure. Many, including myself, didn't even put it together until seeing things like this video. I guess it's the diligent note taking, but I was blown away that the two of you basically figured it out during the episode. Well done. Keep in mind, while watching season 7, that most viewers probably didn't take notes and didn't go online and see other people's theories. Many viewers still had no idea that Jon was a Targaryen.
Of course the father was Rhaegar, the fuck? Why would there be Targaryen Kingsguard guarding Lyanna if the father was anyone else? It's literally obvious if you pay attention.
This thread will probably be deleted because it's going against what the Mods (the self-proclaimed queens/kings of the commenting world) want. But here goes anyway.... *Tom Thontor* I wasn't directed or lead into any theory when it came to this show when I watched it the first time thru, up to season 5. During the wait for season 6, I started reading the books. I hadn't gotten past the 3rd book, before the season 6 started (I'm not a slow reader, I just was reading other books in-between, and I have a life outside of GoT/asoiaf). Anyway...my point is, I wasn't spoiled by anyone else's theories, and so I came up with my own. I won't bother to share it here, but it's not Rhaegar + Lyanna = Jon (and not the other popular alternative either - N+A=J, but I always give kudos to the Order of the Green Hand for coming up with a sound theory of their own - like me.) For that reason alone, I don't like that the mods spoon-fed this theory to Nikki & Steven. I wish they were given the chance to wait till after they've seen the whole show, to come up with their own theory, and share it with us. That would have been more real & spontaneous, IMO. *Rheya Colon* Even tho I don't approve in this hive minded theory, I still 👍all your comments, because I do think they should have at least waited to watch this video after the S7 bigger reveal. *Chimbles907* You asked, "Why would there be Targaryen Kingsguard guarding Lyanna if the father was anyone else?" Well, because - and only because - they were friends of Rhaegar, and I believe Lyanna was a friend too. But they shouldn't have been there in the first place, because they are *Kings* Guards,* and should have been with the *KING.*
In the books, The Tower of Joy scene and the 'promise me, Ned' from Lyanna are first mentioned in the first one, which came out in 1996. 20 years to watch that spectacular transition.
@@Saibachick R+L=J has been the one thing I always click on. My 100% click bait since I found Westeros.org and R+L=J I think it was V18-20. Jon has been my favorite since my first read through.

The another great cut, about what Steven talks, is when LF and Varys are talking with each other looking for the IT in KL. And then LF: chaos is a ladder, many fall, etc, only the climb is real... And then cut: Jon climbed the Wall and is atop of the world. I think, this was one of those great big cuts, about Steven talks.
@RheyaRu!z good thing that they made the decision themselves on what to do with their own UA-cam channel and did not let the comment section sway them. They made this choice, not us. Quit being upset because UA-camrs decide what to do with their own UA-cam channel.
The use of foreshadowing on Game of Thrones is incredible one of my favourite components! That’s how you know you have truly great writing. The story has been thought out thoroughly with a beginning middle and end, and thus you can shot in a few little ironies and throw away comments but they all actually mean/foreshadow something. Other example of this is the symbolism’s in the show shown a a lot through animals. This can also be found in prophesies and when a lot of attention is paid to a particular thing. Nothing is random in Game of Thrones, hats off to George R.R Martin that guy is a genius and of course the show runners for bringing it to life!
So excited to hear y'all love this show as much as we do. No worries about baratheon the reaction was priceless and did require a pause lol. We could go on an on talking about this show all day too ❤💛
3:59 I wanted to say this before our Dynamic Duo started watching... I predict... before the end of the video... BOTH of these two will be in tears. 🥺😢😭 Love you guys!!!
Your reactions are priceless. I'm so happy you watched this. I think you two will love the History and Lore features. Jon is one of my favorites so yah your not alone.
When season 1 came out, I heard r + l = j off handedly. I was like, Wait, what? And from then on I knew it was true and was just waiting 6 seasons for the show to confirm it
Your reaction in 6-10 was absolutely fantastic. I had the misfortune of r+l=j being spoiled before seeing it myself. And all the reactions I have watched, while great, have been of confirmations. To see that genuine moment of realization at what they were revealing for the first time was just wonderful. I can easily say you two are my favorite reactors on this and so many other shows.

I promise you two won't be disappointed.. pls watch the video
So the reason why this is so huge is the name itself. The name of the show is Game of Thrones, but thats only the name of the first book. The real name of the series is A Song of Ice and Fire. That's what Raeghar proclaimed about his future son. John is the song of the Stark's ice and the Targaryen's fire. Its so damn brilliant.
You dont have to apologize EVER....!!! Mistakes happen. Especially after these explosive episodes & then form your thoughts, after your minds blown! Part of the fun, for those of us who have already watched, is your genuine reactions! You guys are great & genuine! Keep on keeping on.
Things to do when you finish season seven: 1. Watch the show a second time from the beginning. Then a third time. Then a fourth. Repeat. 2. Watch other reactors on UA-cam. There are many good ones. 3. Read the books. 4. Cry.
The starting of the show Jon just a bastard the way his journey from bastard of winterfell to lord commander of nights watch to king in the north the best thing is people dont follow Jon because he hire or something people dont know about that they follow Jon because of his leadership quality his bravery his honor . Love Jon snow 😊
And his other grandfather was burned alive by the Mad King. (In case you thought Sansa's engagement to Joffrey was the most screwed-up relationship on the show.)
So glad you guys got to see this. Can't wait for you guys to react to the History and Lore stuff for each season! Those special features will explain even more of the world for you!
There's so much subtle acting going on here. Ned never breathed a word to anyone, not even his own wife because her distaste for Jon would make it more believable that he was his bastard. Jamie told Kat "You are a honest Woman." She would never ever be able to pretend, to act like she hated Jon if she knew the truth. Ned knew Robert would kill Jon. He warned Cerci before telling Robert he knew about the incest children because he knew Robert would kill her AND the children and he couldn't with his strong honor let that happen. This is why the Spider told Ned "Your mercy killed the king" And why Ned was so disgusted with Robert for wanting to go after Dany and her unborn baby that he stepped down as Hand of the King. "I'll kill every Targaryen I can get my hands on." "You can't get your hands on this one." - Yes we know he means Dany...but you also know NOW that inside he was also thinking of Jon. Ned had the strongest Honor. He honored his family over everything else. Even to his best friend and King. I often wondered, if Ned would have told Jon the truth about his mother and father.
Do you think that Ned told Benjen? It would make sense if he did. Benjen and Leanna were close as per Bran’s visions. It would really suck if Benjen didn’ Know because I think Ned would have trusted his Brother.
@@douglasbarrera951 Unsure. It's possible. Something is up with Benjin though, why did he join the Night's Watch to begin with? Was it before or after the death of the elder brother? That whole...not much left for the third son to do so "may as well" type of thing going on? Or is there something else going on? The only one that knows the truth (that we know of) Is Howland Reed.
I love how when you two first started watching, you were like, “Everyone’s all about Jon Snow. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏼♀️ We don’t get it. But let’s see. Apparently he’s the goat.” And now you see!
Well I think it would only work if catelyn believed it too. She probably would have loved her nephew and kept the secret but it would be too close a relationship with Jon being a bastard. He needed to be treated as a bastard by his wife. Ned had to be paranoid about anyone finding out and he loved his sister more than Cat at the time, she was a stranger. I bet he wanted to tell her over the years but decided against it. I wish Ned had gotten the chance to tell Jon the truth.
First off thank you both for watching this. Thank you, Age Of The Witch for doing all your work (also American Mum and all the other mods). You've done a spectacular job keeping the comments section clean. I feel you mods don't get quite enough credit that you deserve. N&S: As you stated Westeros doesn't have Queens, it has Kings. So yes, Jon would be the next in line, being the son of the crown prince. HOWEVER, bastards are not counted. Which is why the "forever rowing" Gendry is not an heir to King Robert, instead Stannis (then any legitimate son of Stannis), then Renley are. While not explicitly stated by you or the video, Dany would be Jon Snow's Aunt. Just filling out the known family tree, so not a spoiler. I eagerly await your season 7 reactions. There are lots of fun videos for you to watch at this point. None of them spoilers. Coldplay's GoT Musical, Mellisandre goes to a baby shower, Jon Snow goes to a dinner party (Both with late night host Seth Myers), GoT Beginner's Guide (narrated by Samuel L. Jackson), Bad Lip Reading Game of Thrones, Honest Trailers Game Of Thrones (both volumes), and GoT Auditions. Thanks once again for all the wonderful reactions. Keep on keeping on.
Are you serious? Season 7 is probably the worst season in the entire show. That's not just my opinion, if you know anything about movies and shows, you'd that season 7 was really bad. Bad dialogue, ridiculous story, uncountable plot holes and the characters completely changed and everything they've done till now means nothing. Take Tyrion for example. He didn't do a single thing in the season except talking do Cersei in episode 7. Only Jon and Dany were important but I think they are the least complex characters in the show so it got boring.
@@akalion213 S7 is mixed. Some rather slow episodes, some good and one or two spectacular, jump-out-of-your-seat moments. Let's see how Nikki and Steven react to it.
Totally the opposite... Lot of action but.....it is not a good season. Yes,the episodes were longer but, they felt like from a different show, rushing through the story lines. How long we waited for Arya's story and Dany's at Mareen(spelling) to be over and complete?. Yet, on season seven, ( not a spoiler ) something is brought to King's Landing from up north in a matter of two episodes.Really?? They pushed the story line, and they did it horribly.
@@kledi3817 Most of the bad things happen in Episode 6, And i agree that this Episode has bad writing and stupid plotholes. BUT Episode 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 are very good. And i disagree that the Story is bad. Its a bit rushed yes, but its not bad. In my opinion its still a very good Season with some annoying flaws. But we shouldnt forget that D&D are not G.R.R.M. They dont have 10 years to write a Season. Got will never be as good as in the first 4-5 Seasons. Its impossible without Martins books.
This week has been hard and you guys always cheer me up with your videos. I gotta say, even though I am a complete stranger to you, you have been a highlight in my life through a dark and challenging period and I can't thank you enough for that. I'm sure there are countless fans of yours who can relate - you guys are funny, intelligent and incredibly relatable. An emotionally abusive relationship, a devastating realization in the workplace and personal battle with addiction have weakened my self esteem over time and I feel more and more like I'm at my breaking point each day. But these glimmers of light have comforted me through some tough but necessary decisions, and Nikki & Steven, you have been one of the brightest glimmers. Game of Thrones has been an escape for me and thanks to you, the enjoyment of the universe has increased exponentially thanks to your channel. I watch each episode multiple times because the sound of your voices alone has an uplifting effect on my spirit. I know a youtube comment is not the proper way to thank you, but I was not expecting another video from you today and today I really needed one. So thank you for sharing your wonderful personalities with the world, I know it's a better place because of them.
One of the best GoT scenes ever. And there is actually a reason why Ned delays it until the next time. In that point he knows that next time they see each other, Jon will be sworn brother of the Night's Watch. And by that renounced of all titles and claims. So, then, it will be safe for him to know the truth as he is no longer a threat to Robert's claim.
Honestly, your initial reactions were pretty damn spot on so you guys weren't silly at all! You caught on to more than a lot of show only watchers. Your notes are fabulous Nikki. I can't wait for you to read the books and catch all the foreshadowing for some of these big events. I think you will absolutely love the differences in the books too. It'll feel like a fresh story in many ways
Its not about who is older (Jon and Dany) its about straight line of succesion: Aerys II (mad king)--> Rheagar (son, prince) --> his rightfull son with Elia (slain by The Mountain) Jon cant be heir bcs he is still a bastard. Now straight line is gone so we looking for others Targaryans. Mad kings had no living siblings,Rheagar had: Viserys(die) No male Targs,so now we looking on Females(Daenerys). Females still had better claim than bastards. Sorry for my poor english
@@dymektrejo2647 Rhaegar was disowned by Aerys though, making Viserys his heir and cancelling any claims any of Rhaegar's children might have on the throne...
Shadman Sisam when Rhaegar died, Aerys made Viserys the heir, completely passing over Rhaegar's entire line of succession (as Aegon should have been the next in line). Viserys then chose Daenerys as his heir. But it's all moot anyway because neither Jon nor Daenerys can inherit the throne since it used to belong to the Baratheons (is Cersei still considered a Baratheon? Idk) and the only heir there is Gendry. If the Targaryens want the throne, they have to take it by force.
I love your reactions. They are so real and in the moment. I’m a book reader and have been since I was a young kid. It’s so interesting to me to see someone react to the show for the first time.
I'm sure this prob has been suggested but if not, given how much you guys love Jon Snow you have to watch 'Jon Snow The White Wolf' by Zurik 23M. Hands down best Got/Jon Snow compilation vid on youtube! And that vid was made after episode 610 so perfect time to watch it
@@RachelG1979 I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait regardless. I'm just happy I got practice trying not to impatiently wait for Harry Potter lol. Now I look back and I'm like thank you JK Rowling thank you for not taking nearly as long I'm sorry that I was ever impatient.
@@iloveyourunclebob I say its 15 to 20 years before we get the the final book. The show giving us a sense of an ending is great, we'll probably forget about it the rest, so it'll be awesome when he adds the next book. So much more going on that HBO doesn't get to give away. plus there's a prequel coming so that'll be fun.
@@RachelG1979 I think Winds of Winter is looking at 2019/2020 so we can at least hope that some of these questions get answered in the next book. I really kind of hope that he reveals Jon's parentage in the next book so that the fandom doesn't have to go another 15-20 years arguing about R+L=J or the order of the greenhand theory.
Jon can only be the heir to the throne if he is not a bastard, so far as we know his parents were not married. also if he is legitimate, since he is a male it does not matter who is older for the line only always passes through males less there are none left(even if he was female he would still be heir even if he was younger, because his father was next in line)...think about it guys...we still do this even till this day...when a woman(biological) marries she takes(normally) the mans name(biological). However this does have an exception. When a woman marries a man of less birth then her the keeps her name and the children born of that union take her name not the fathers.
It is so excellent to go back and watch this story after you find out the details...that's why I LOVE watching ya'lls reactions so much! I CANNOT WAIT for the new season!!!
Don't apologise, that Baratheon comment made the reaction brilliant 😁
I burst out laughing, it was so much fun. When they figured out it was R+L=J a few seconds later it was cathartic.
The live chat was hilarious with everyone giving jon a different name 😂
i was like NOOOOUUUUUUU when she said Jon is Baratheon xDD
I had to minimise on my phone because I found it difficult to concentrate. It was funny though!
Even if it dishonored his house and himself for taking on Jon as a bastard, it was the *right* thing to do
@@TehIdiotOne Exactly.
Great comment! XD
He got confused and had sex with his aunt 😂😂
@@olivagulabjan9 Who is also younger than him.
Also Catelyn Tully was supposed to marry the uncle that was strangled, but ended up marrying Ned instead in his place.
Sean Bean's subtle acting tho. He knew the truth the whole time, they told him
@Eddie LM i think i watched an interview with D&D and they said they told him before the whole thing even started filming because they wanted him specifically for the role
Sean Bean was brilliant. One of the best actors ever
@@jerimeyperry3282 howland reed probably knew as well since he was at the tower with ned

It was funny but did hurt me a little bit inside 😂
I picture thousands of people facepalming simultaneously.
SolidSnake8295 dumbest thing I’ve heard all year.
EDIT: MODS THIS COMMENT IS A SPOILER
I get from the look on his face that he knows there was affection there and that Lyanna ran away with Rhaegar willingly, but that's all he knows.

Good news for you, you don't have to watch.
Great comment. You guys should also check out this vid regarding Ned's dream from the book : ua-cam.com/video/8TVBHfErKWI/v-deo.html
Rhaegar was Danny's other brother so she is technically Jons aunt
Yup... straight up... no "technically" about it. 😂🤣🤐😬
@RheyaRu!z they literally got it themselves and you are upset because you think they should have not gotten it. You cannot dictate whether or not someone got something because you feel like they shouldn't have.
There’s no technicality about it. She’s Jon’s aunt.
Through this we really see the strong bond between Arya and Jon as two outcasts of the Stark family.
she did have interest in "lady like persuits" she just didnt want to do JUST those things
@@urthboundmisfit The show isn't the books. You can't use the books for the show, they are vastly different and have different lores.
Yes! Thank the Old Gods. Ned’s honor meant nothing compared to the most important thing to him - which was protecting the lives of his family.
*Howland Reed*
The father of Meera and Jojen.

Nikki I loved it when you kept saying Rhaegar's name wrong and the whole Jon's a Baratheon. It made me love your guys reactions even more. That reaction video is my favourite out of all of your videos.
The scene of Caitlyn talking about not loving Jon gets me every time. Incredible acting, and the score is the best ever in a TV show😭
but that 4 or so min of "chaos" is the best reaction ever, not fake, you are both so invested in this show. It's what makes you both so awesome!
Keep it up!
Only character I heart more than Jon Snow is Arya. And she has absolutely no interest in sitting on any throne. Adorable little murder machine is the best!
I think after the end of the show, if she is still alive. She'll go to Braavos and truly become No One, for some reason i believe that is her destiny.
mickys333 nooooo, worst ending ever.
Ben Kohlmeyer agreed. Overpowered super ninja assassin in less than 1 year Arya is a great character :)
Just one - Ned Stark.
probably more maybe like when the wife cheats and the husband pretends to go out and cheat
Now turn around and look at the blanket behind you with Jon snow in the middle above it.
I know right!! Look behind you!! Stark and targarean blanket and Jon funko in between them!!

I loved that comment on the previous video when someone said he heard you saying Baratheon Targaryen he jumped off the building 😂 😂 😂 I guess he was commenting from heaven I don't think they would let him keep his cellular device in the 7 hells lol
Was that Tommen, perchance?

Can they do two part videos of every episode in season 7? Since it has only 7 episodes and the story progresses faster there also it's the
LAST season ATM.
Also I'm seriously considering supporting them via Patreon and as a bonus, they also have extended
reactions there, so it's a win-win scenario.
They're def caught up. They should also do both of the Honest Trailers

All the related videos after season 7
Omg😭😍 Nikki you look so beautiful!!!!! As always!
She is so beautiful. And that shirt is so freakin' cute!!!
6:34 Little fingers face says it all, hints were blazing.
It's litterally after that episode that I had this reveal about Jon. I was like, "what? maybe there's something more to it?" ...and well, the show is helping here, you have 2 really different pov about Rhaegar (from Sansa and from Barristan) in the same episode, which raises some questions haha
Which is weird because there is absolutely no way Littlefinger could know about what really happened between Rhaegar and Lyanna.
Richard Lucas Littlefinger pretty much knows everything just like Varys.

Thank you so much
What a lovely surprise this is, thanks Nikki and Steven, had no doubt you would actually figure what was happening once everything cooled down. Such a great reaction guys
No need to apologize Nikki ! Love you guys !
Jon's real mother is actually Olenna Tyrell and his real father is Kahl Drogo.
Your reactions are priceless! So glad you’re almost caught up and you can join the rest of us in the wait for the final season!
You guys are so great. I’m so happy I found you guys. This video is still on my regular playlist. I took my daughters to the GOT concert and we legit cried when the sad violin music played. The violinist was raised up while she played. It was so beautiful but brought back terribly painful memories. Keep creating guys! Much love!
I AM SO HAPPY YOU REACTED TO THIS!!!
I love how you've been kept spoiler free. It makes your reactions SO much more enjoyable! :)
Do NOT apologise for anything. If somebody got triggered or offended at your reactions, they can cry as many salty rivers as they like, but you got nothing to apologise for. It was a 100% genuine reaction and it was funny, emotional, sweet and really interesting to watch. Season 7, Leeet's GO! ;)
These were probably the most genuine, untainted reactions on UA-cam and they were both hilarious and entertaining. Never ever apologize for that!
Richard Hassler - Oh, I’ve never watched that channel. Thanks for the info!

"Why weren't you there to protect your prince?"
"Our prince wanted us here".
Now what could be so important to the crown prince that he would instruct is own personal honour guard to be elsewhere than at his side at a major battle.
And now we know . . .
Makes me want to see a prequel with Mad King, Selmy, Tywin, Rhaegar, Robert, Lyanna, etc.
Sean Bean is just amazing, his acting, his facial expressions are just spot on: That scene where Ned Stark and Jon Snow talk for the last time was just plain beautiful.
This may be a book spoiler but
just want to say that Robert and Lyanna were only betrothed, not in any other kind of relationship. She wasn’t exactly happy about it either because she believed he would always be unfaithful and that “love cant change a mans nature”.
Nikki and Steven's reaction "BARATHEON"...was the most original of all reactions to this episode!

So glad you made this!

Your reactions are priceless. I'm so happy you watched this. I think you two will love the History and Lore features. Jon is one of my favorites so yah your not alone.
Bonus video!!!!! This was so much a surprise, I love it.
When season 1 came out, I heard r + l = j off handedly. I was like, Wait, what? And from then on I knew it was true and was just waiting 6 seasons for the show to confirm it
The directors had to prove they knew their stuff by knowing who’s jons real mother is before being able to take the show on.
BS
@@sophiawilson8696 its true
Your reaction in 6-10 was absolutely fantastic. I had the misfortune of r+l=j being spoiled before seeing it myself. And all the reactions I have watched, while great, have been of confirmations. To see that genuine moment of realization at what they were revealing for the first time was just wonderful. I can easily say you two are my favorite reactors on this and so many other shows.
But they have been spoiled by watching this video. The R+L=J reveal comes at the end of season 7.
Ever wonder what happened before the song of ice and fire? Ever wonder why they called the capital "King's Landing" ever wonder how the iron throne came to be? The answers will reveal itself if you watch GOT lore "conquests and rebellion" how Aegon the conquerer first came to westerous.. please watch n react if you want the history behind the show.. I promise you two won't be disappointed.. pls watch the video
I think they should watch this too!
Or you could just read the amazing books which are infinitely better than the show.
You guys are amazing ! Never enjoyed any GoT reactions as much as on your channel !
You dont have to apologize EVER....!!! Mistakes happen. Especially after these explosive episodes & then form your thoughts, after your minds blown! Part of the fun, for those of us who have already watched, is your genuine reactions! You guys are great & genuine! Keep on keeping on.
Things to do when you finish season seven:
Jons grandfather was the mad king
This is why the Spider told Ned "Your mercy killed the king"
And why Ned was so disgusted with Robert for wanting to go after Dany and her unborn baby that he stepped down as Hand of the King.
"I'll kill every Targaryen I can get my hands on."
"You can't get your hands on this one." - Yes we know he means Dany...but you also know NOW that inside he was also thinking of Jon.
Cat never knew about Jon. Ned never said to everyone
Loredana Sporeanu She still wished death upon a baby. Awful woman.
I have a sneaky feeling Benjen knows. He hugs Jon a lot...and only Jon out of all Neds 'children'.
I wish Ned had gotten the chance to tell Jon the truth.
howland reed knows
Lucy Matthews Everyone that was at the Tower of Joy knows. That includes Jojen Reeds father (The kid that sees the future and was helping Bran)

@@akalion213 maybe one of the weaker Seasons, but its still very good for the most part.

The pure emotion in your faces when Ned said we'll talk about your mother got me crying.
One of the best GoT scenes ever. And there is actually a reason why Ned delays it until the next time. In that point he knows that next time they see each other, Jon will be sworn brother of the Night's Watch. And by that renounced of all titles and claims. So, then, it will be safe for him to know the truth as he is no longer a threat to Robert's claim.

hahaa, your last review was gold. jon baratheon, son of rhago / rhaegys / rhaegi
There are multiple scenes at Castle Black with Jon in the foreground and R+L carved into the wall behind him.
Sorry for my poor english
yes,but they dont

It was there from the beginning... In the crypt, Lyanna is holding a tiny flame.
Omg never recognized that symbology thanks for pointing out! :)
Right
