I blieve the reason you played is now slightly outdated. Some of the issues have been fixed, but many still remain.
The truth of the matter is that my "Overlord" mod was slightly too large in terms of scope for just me (and the help I did recieve), as such alot of my dreams for the mod remain unrealised - and I'll be the first to admin that it still needs alot of work to this day. But the amount I've put in so far is more than any other mod I've made and it's time for my to step back from it a bit.
Next mod, Scenario: Berlin :)
I absolutely love the mod, and I hope to see more of these scenario mods! I'm going to be trying out Stalingrad next!
This scenario mod still looks great - never has to be perfect. Going to have to check it out!
Nice to hear that its still being worked on. I feared that the project might be dead. Loved playing the mod with my friend tho it crashed sometimes.

Wow! Having a scenario like Berlin makes me feel like it's going to be a "survival mode" thing and not a real story campaign, as by the Time the allies and the Soviets got to Berlin it was pretty much inevitable that Germany would capitulate and that any effort would just be stalling the inevitable.
Is my prediction correct?

I would now want a Hitler Rants video where Bitter is sent a disaster save after the Steiner Attack didn't happen.
I really like the idea of being in command of a singular front or sector. It would be cool if there was one that was exclusively the eastern front starting at the beginning of Barbarossa but also have other start points like battle the battle of Kursk(maybe Stalingrad instead) or have a late game starting point(operation Bagration for example).
The creator also made a Stalingrad scenario.
That one is next on my mod list!!

Yeah I would argue the Stalingrad one is more interesting/challenging.
If you wait long enough as Germany in this mod, then the soviets invade trough your core states and you have to recapture your territory

@@catfacecat. it's not historical, because germany lost d-day, in mod, if you play germany you hold Allie's enough that soviets have time to capture berlin and push towards the france

@@davidbuckley2435 i reached soviet invasion only once, and that was when i make a coup and took power. So maybe they invade only when you are independent. Either way it's just make more content for player, so i think it's good. And if you want a perfect history game, just die to Allie's and you will never reach the soviet invasion

Ah yes, the "you won but actually no you still lose" ending, very interesting.
Germany would have lost sooner or later, one way or another. Even if the Allies hadn't landed at all, by 1942-1943 Germany's defeat to the Soviet Union was inevitable.
@@Roketsune While there is a good chance that would be true (stopping D-Day doesn't stop the western strategic bombing of Germany), the ending is still unsatisfying and the mod clearly doesn't know what it's talking about, especially when it invokes nukes. It literally says "even if the Germans held off the Soviets then the Americans would've just nuked them" despite the fact that dropping an atomic bomb on Germany was never on the table. Even for Japan it was only done because it was believed they would never surrender otherwise and the only other option would be an extremely costly naval invasion which would results in millions of deaths.
It reflects the common misconception that a lot of people have. Stalin absolutely needed the western allies to open a second front in Western Europe, which is why he asked them repeatedly for it and refused to launch Bagration until 3 weeks after a foothold in France had been established.
@@Roketsune the soviets were on their last legs by the time they walked into berlin, if the allies got peaced out it would be possible.

They were an extremely capable force towards the end of the war, and had almost zero problems in wiping the floor with the Japanese in their Manchurian Offensive 3 months after the fall of Nazi Germany. Furthermore, had the Allies decided to go to war with the Soviet Union after the end of the war as Churchill had contemplated, the Soviet Union would probably have steamrolled the Allies in Western Europe until either they were pushed back into the sea, or Germany and maybe France had fallen.
The Soviet Union indeed had suffered horrific losses and were on the ropes for a while in 1941 and maybe 1942, but they were most assuredly not on their "last legs" at the end of the war.

Honestly mod looks amazing but it feels very unpolished, aa-spam, chaotic and unconnected supply hubs, whole shenanigans to the south, somewhat anticlimactic landing - they just popped in and some landings were empty, crude "hitler trust" mechanic etc. Not to mention that it looked trivial but that might be Bitter's being Napoleon reincarnation
The talk of how fast it is to build anti-air got me thinking, and this might be too complicated/in-depth, but what if you could get a bonus to AA construction speed based on a stockpile of AA guns from production? Maybe have a decision to deplete the AA stockpile for a temporary boost to static AA construction speed? Kind of a cross between 'Reorganize the Rail Network' and any of the decisions that take equipment to fufill.
I think road to 56 has a decision like that
I think this mod just needs to be all of France, Netherlands, Belgium and Britain with touches of the other countries on the borders

Point of order historically speaking, the atomic bomb target for Germany was NOT Berlin, but Ludwigshafen. Just as it was not Tokyo or Kyoto in Japan, for many of the same reasons.

I dont think putting a AA gun somewhere should take 5 months xD so i rly like that it is speed up so much in the mod
To be fair, I assume a single AA gun wouldn't do anything to like 200 bombers. Berlin was defended by 3 flak towers, each having about 50-100 AA guns. They were more akin to medieval castles in design.
it's not that simple. Upper high command has to approve placement of AA guns, somebody has to get it from military base, somebody else has to prepare the area for it - build bunkers, or fortify it in any other way. Next is transporting it, and securing. Surely putting a division there or two would be okayish; long story short. Even mundane task of putting AA is not that simple, i don't like how you can built aa all over france in just few months.
@@kniazjarema8587 Yeah, nowadays it's much easier to set up AA defenses thanks to mobile AA/SAM platforms like Patriot, Gepard and S-300/400. Still, it takes time to find suitable locations that ensure maximum protection.

i’ve played this mod before, and playing as the allies is very easy
I would love a mod like this, but for the entire map
I've played Call of War on and off and honestly don't know why. Do not play this game. The moderation is awful, and it's pay to win and lacks any sort of substance. I know why Bytro would push this sort of stuff on hoi4 channels as theyd likely have a similar audience but its essentially just a worse version of hoi4 to the extreme. Yeah its free but the entire game is in real time making it slow and boring and victory isn't really determined by skill but by who is terminally online enough to stay up for 12 hours to invade you when you aren't looking: Unless you pick a major power in the 1939 map (which has awful borders and limited options for country picks) you simply cannot win. Even if you do somehow get a major (they'll likely all go within 2 minutes of starting) if anyone and I mean anyone has enough gold and is willing to spend it you've lost. There's no strategy: it's just sending units in wave attacks hoping you outproduce your opponent, the UI is awful, most games go inactive within a single day as only kids play it, and it lacks any depth at all. Everything about it is generic and boring. Don't download.

Everything goes quicker cause you only have 1 year but a huge industry. If you compare the length of time, everything should go faster cause vanilla you have 3 years to build up, not 1
For some reason with Bitter mentioning Canaris it makes me want to see him play R.U.S.E but that game is quite difficult to get ahold of at least for steam/PC.
