    Hi Joey, this may be a long post so bare with me......first off I hate you have sick plants, that breaks my heart. I know how much you love these plants. A guy in one if my other carnivorous plant groups is new to the hobby, so I shared the video where you go over which is the best substrate, and how to pot up plants. He told me he watched it several times and that what you said makes really good sense.......you now have a new subscriber because of that video. 😊 earlier in the week I noticed that my sarracenia roots were also coming out the bottom of the pot so of course it for repoted into a bigger pot. Lastly....I think it would be a good idea to make a video on how to use insecticides on these plants. I'm sure many out there don't have a clue. It took me 2yrs before I switched over to a 3and1 from neem oil. I do hope you can get everything straightened out so you can move over here to the States, never give up keep fighting for what you want no matter how difficult it may seem. Well my friend, I hope you have a great day,and as always it was a very good video.....

    I think that 13:01 might be black soldier fly larvae. If it is they make a great meal for flytraps.

    Hi friend I too just finished dealing with spider mites on my sarracenias using neem oil and dilute rubbing alcohol. I hope you can move here to the US so you have more suppliers to choose from with fewer restrictions on import. I’m also going to be releasing beneficial predatory mites in my grow area for some more sustained control.

    Great video, one thing that I have found with pruning Sarracenia is that it's better to prune them when they go dormant rather than waiting for new growth in spring. I think you will find that you will have less issues with rotting and pest come spring. Leaving the dying leaves on can and will promote crown rot because there is very little airflow and any rain or water that gets down to the crown just sits there because it cannot evaporate. When the plant is dormant it will not miss the leaves and in the long run it will be healthier for the plant.

    Hey! Try soaking your scissors in white vinegar over night. Works like a dream to get rid of rust on tools.... And something that you usually have in the house :)

    Another great video🤠🍃🍃👍 please keep them coming. Try some lime- a-way on those scissors and a wool pad they will be bright as rain. I have used Bonide Sulfur fungicide to control mold. The Safer EndAll has helped to control the chewing bugs in and around my Sarracenia. I will wear a mask 😷 and gloves 🧤 when tackling a situation in the garden safety first and above all. May your garden always be green 🍏!

    Sooty mold on just about any plant is usually an indication of insect infestation. the most common suspects in that case would be mealy bugs or scale. Mealy bugs resemble small buds of cotton on the stems and leaves, scale will often be brown or green in color and resemble small scales or blisters on the stems and leaves.

    Hey Joel, at 0:40 that Peat looks sort of alive? if so is that a good thing or a bad thing? The sphagnum moss in one of my nepenthes is growing and idk what to do about it. should I just leave it, or let it dry out and die, then replant?
    P.S. Lol I released a sarracenia pruning video yesterday 😀

      I think live sphagnum moss is good, it could mean that you have an environment similar to wetlands and bog areas or just a generally good growing space. It helps with humidity, moisture as well as a basis for your nepenthes especially if what you have is a highlander.

      @@quackersoatling8719 Thank you! The nepenthes I have that i am referring to is a nepenthes Ventricosa, so I think i will keep it on the pot. Thanks for the help.

      @TheFlytrapGarden  Рік тому +1

      As Quack said, sphagnum is good. If you have sphagnum growing it means yours providing the correct environment for the moss, which is very similar to that of nepenthes and most other CPs

    Go easy. Cutting off healthy green growth can result in shorter pitchers the following season.

    Dear Reader,
    It would be very informative to know what you can do to get rid of harmful insects, without poisoning the plant. I wouldn't like a starving insect (because of an insecticide) to climb into a pitcher or Fly trap 'trap', and by doing so kill the plant also.
    About moving to another English speaking country, I realy hope Joe succeeds and finds an income and new energy overthere.
    But I do want to say that moving doesn't solve all your problems, when they are lets say poverty or unimployment. Then only economic succes and work can be a real sollution, otherwise you will be poor and depresed in a new country.
    So, information about getting rid of harmfull insects would be helpfull and all the best for Joe personally.
    With Kind Regards,
