In today's video, we revisit the $400 Jimmy I bought a while back! I haven't posted any video content on it since last winter and a lot of folks have been asking for an update. Well, there's good and bad news. The bad news is that, as expected, the Jimmy went downhill real quick. Its already lengthy list of problems grew to the point that I just decided to part it a few months or so ago. So first, I had to get it running. The good news is that it'll end up leading into a whole new video series! I talked about all of that and more in this video! If you have any questions, feel free to post them below and I'll try to get to them! Thanks for watching and have a great day!

I can help you get her back o the road, man!
Please dont...
Buy it Tavarish would look good next to Hoovies Bentley Continental.
Ariff Hipni yeah tarrvarish bought it for sure
Drift Jimmy?
Stick to the lambo you can't afford to repair
That optional digital dash on the '94 Jimmy is very rare. You almost never see them with that option. Sad to see it in such a bad state.
Kenneth White I got one out of a junkyard working perfectly for $15 lol
I REALLY want him to keep it
Enderhino super rare find my friend. Lol
Yes, this gauge cluster just screams ‘retro’. And indeed it is very sad to see it in this state. But it is with Kyle, which obviously, means that it is in great hands.
its actually not that bad. no rust. around here they rotted away back to where they came from
I really wonder what happened to that 94 Jimmy too. Hopefully it will start running. At least the 93 Jimmy is working.
Kyle please swap the digital gauges into the other one because the digital gauge cluster is more rare than the analog gauge cluster
I will definitely be saving it. The swap isn't easy and I have to see if the mileage can be reprogrammed somehow. It would be a sweet video to swap it out though!
They are so cooler too !
Saabkyle04 I second the digital swap. My buddies 94 has it
That cluster is the only thing worth saving from the 94.
Digital cluster yuck
I miss this car so much. Gm really needs to consider bringing this back and not make it look like a crossover like they did with the blazer.
Jordan Catcher well the Fuel Economy standards are the blame for crossover SUV.
It wouldn't be the same
Won't happen. GM doesn't believe it's practical to appeal to a narrow market.
Zane Fitch Crossovers are what's in now. The 2019 Blazer is a soccer mom's dream.
GhostSpectre hahahaha
Love the Grand Marquis. I hope to get one myself someday. I even offered to trade my 2013 Charger for a good running low-mileage Marquis. A true American classic.
I saw this 2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 5.3, 170000 miles in unbelievable condition .. literally a couple of scratches, the leather front seats were nicely broken in (rear seating looked almost new) and the engine had a LOT left, no leaks, great suspension and it's a 4x4 … there isn't even any road rash on the wheels! … I got it for $3500.00!! .. It's like driving a yacht...very addictive. The previous owner babied it, had it regularly serviced, used Mobil One, etc … How can you beat a deal like that? … I subscribe to your channel because, weather it's a 1994 Jimmy that needs a resto or a 2002 'burban that doesn't need a whole lot, anyone can drive their dream within a budget and feel like you sorta hit the "car guy" lottery!! … Keep up the great work Kyle!
Nice paragraph
What color was it I sold mine a few years ago
The one that has been sitting probably has water in the gas. It happens with ethanol gas. The consensation builds up inside the tank and bonds to the ethanol molecules. It happened to my grandmother's 99 Regal that sat for 2 years. When we got it running again it poured white smoke out the intake and exhaust.
Harkin Labs Gaming ١ة
It's kind of weird, my truck sat for 4 years with a bad motor and the same gas it originally had when I bought it. Champ still started
It is overheating though

Tyler Shull ?
As a 93 GMC Typhoon Owner, I appreciate your growing affection towards the S- Series Jimmys. For some reason I absolutely love these trucks!
It would be fun to make it a sort of Roadkill project car: cheaping out with MacGyver and jury-rigged quick fixes, cheap parts out of the junkyard and such. It's not like any efforts to turn into its former glory would ever reflect on its value, plus it might be great fun doing unorthodox repairs you normally wouldn't on a car you'd care for more.
Kyle please swap the Gauge panel from the Jimmy for the other one It screams 80's with the digital one 😁💙
I need to look up how to do that. The parts are there, just gotta figure out wiring and see if it's possible to reprogram the mileage!
wilLdHeX wiCkY Totally agree
Agreed!
I agreee it looks so good
Your videos are very entertaining and interesting. Keep up the great work!
Great garage Kyle, heat rises, put some exhaust fans up high on end of room, it will help move out that oven like air that's trapped up there, letting cooler ground air come in.
Amazing video as always Kyle, love these classic off-roaders.
The one thing I would definitely do is swap the gauge cluster from the bad Jimmy into the project Jimmy. Looks so much nicer! Very futuristic and unique.
Thank you for sharing. I look forward to see you restore your Jimmy. I hope you swap the digital cluster from the 94 to the 93 or which you decide to use. This is a worthy project and investment. Thank you for sharing your garage too.
All the smoke from the exhaust reminds me of that old Saab 9-3 with the blown head gasket from back in the earlier days of @saabkyle04, that thing was smoking like a chimney!!
Hahaha yeah it was!
I enjoyed the vid, looking forward to seeing the next vid about the jimmy 👍👍👍👍
Love these sort of videos, we get to see so much more of your character. Your reaction to the mould made me laugh out loud!
That's a nice looking gmc and its gauge cluster 😌👌. Liked your videos 😁😁
And here we have an in-depth look at the Bolens Hi-Wheel mower!
Seriously, good video. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video as usual!
That Jimmy may look a little bit tired, but she is one nice SUV! With a little bit of work, she will be back to her former glory!
Good job! Keep it up.
The best video.. I don't know why I am so freaking excited to see thw projects.. both the Jimmy and the garage
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for 82-94 Square body S-Series trucks; especially the 82-85 with the straight dash. My late father had an 82 S-10 Tahoe he bought brand new!
I had a CCV conversion package 91 Jimmy with the TBI 4.3 and that thing was unstoppable! Those old square body s-10 and s-15 bodies were great vehicles.
Hey Kyle, long time watcher/fan here! I was just wondering if you still have your Viper? Would be awesome to see an update video!
Hey Saabkyle Good to see you♡♡♡
Great videos, you seem to be a down to earth guy. Keep up the great work.
Glad to see a new video! Can’t wait to see what happens. Papa Slim’s Mercury looks fantastic (as usual).
At least the Jimmy can still take you somewhere.
At least until it overheats haha XD
Saabkyle04 you should invest in a riding lawn mower it probably takes a little while with that push mower
Saabkyle04 if Itdidn’t overheat in 2minutes xD
Use some baking soda
72Disco1998 like Everyone uses baking Soda for everything, hopefully arm and hammer Got a product to fix cars that have baking Soda as an ingredient.
Hey Kyle, awesome garage! Try looking into your roof system and venting. Specifically, if there is a way to put a ridge vent or vent on the wall near the ridge...that will help air circulation and drop your indoor temps slightly.
The bigger investment might be insulating (spray foam) before doing any type of conditioning unit. Best of luck, looking forward to more of your build continent.
Nice projects ahead! Keep it up live your passion!
Finally! That lawnmower start up I've been waiting for!
Good job with the video man. Your videos are awesome.
Finally got one of your videos in my feed!
Kyle, your reaction to how that car smelled was priceless!!!!
You should do like blogs id like to join as a long time subscriber. though i have to say i love the garage and the jimmy that say because of the digitial cluster. very nice over all. glad to he a part of your channel :)
I think you would do a spectacular review on the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V, I can feel it!
After seeing that the 400$ jimmy died on your social media, I was really bummed cause I recently bought a 1994 S10 Blazer and there’s hardly any really decent videos online about these trucks so I’m really glad you going to do a video series on it now :)
I like this type of video /vlog .You should do one every week or at least every other week so we can keep up on your projects in a different point of view .Thanks
My aunt loved these. She also loved the Chevy Blazer. She had a 1999 Chevy Blazer, it saved her from a head-on collision at 55 MPH, a driver was going the wrong way (drunk). She did injure her knees but she's alive.
The first SUV I ever bought was a 1992 GMC Jimmy. Mine was bright teal green in color and I bought it used in 1994. That thing was a tank in the winter. A foot of snow couldn't stop that beast.
Good video mate, I hope you get good use out of both.
Nice vid Saab have a nice day
I love those older model square bodies SUVs....I had a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder that a former boss basically gave to me. He was so convinced that it was a good vehicle, he let me drive it for a WEEK without even paying for it. It had over 300K miles, he dropped by my house one day and just waved the keys at me...He told me to drive it, if I liked it, we could work out a deal. Since he was my boss, he knew what I was earning and what I could and could not afford LOL. I drove it for a week and told him "I really like it, however, you know I cannot afford it right now....I just got this job a couple months ago and I just moved here, so you know starting over in a new place is expensive". I handed him the keys back. Later that evening, he passed out paychecks. I typically would just put mine to the side while I finished work. He came by a few minutes after handing me my paycheck and asked if I saw my check yet. I told him that I hadn't even opened the envelope. He told me to open it. Inside the envelope was the keys to the Nissan Pathfinder...and my check...he told me if I was willing to take $100 paycheck that week, I could have the Pathfinder...sure it put me behind on my bills for a couple months, but i didn't complain....
I was wondering about this!! I love this truck!!
Love the shop and new series coming out! Just wondering though.. Why did you put dividers up in your shop between the three garage doors? Why didn't you just make it all on big shop with massive floor space?
Zach Culp 🚗must have beem divided for higher level security against thieves.
Or, possibly a future in rental as self storage units.
Looking forward to this series of videos.
I'll buy that Mercury off you. The Exhaust looks so good on it. Nice color too
You need to put a couple exhaust fans on the back walls of each garage bay. Get lots of good air flow when you open the garage door and turn them on.
Haven't heard anything recently about your 2013 Viper GTS. I didn't see it in the big new garage. It's about time you did an update video, if you still have her...
Get AC in that garage. You won't regret it. Also, I like the digital cluster and you need to save it! Both are fairly clean, and I'm glad you like them! Be well, my man.
I love the digital dash!! A wise mechanic told me "I couldn't never keep one of them runnin..." I didn't listen and bought one with 300k miles, parts and parts and parts then recycled. Maybe got a mile per dollar spent, my bad for not listening. Thanks for the videos, cheers! PS nice shop!
I hope you plan on putting those digital gauges in the new one, I love those 90s gm digital gauges!
I guess your grandad isn't driving much these days since you have his Grand Marquis. One thing you should do for the blazer is swap the spare tire carrier over to the new one. I love those and it looks strange without it
I agree, that spare tire carrier makes the whole look just seem "right". Papa stopped driving a while ago. He had a stroke last year and broke his hip the year before that. He's doing a lot better, but just doesn't have the strength he used to. Still his old chipper self though haha. I bought the GM from him because I didn't want anyone else to have it and not appreciate it in the same way I would.
Saabkyle04. I'm glad that he's doing better. Since you have his car, I'm sure in time you'll probably have the cleanest/best preserved Grand Marquis in America.
Saabkyle04 Oh yes bro keep the GM with the papa plates.. So much Character!
Saabkyle04 I'm sorry to hear that he had a stroke and a fall. My dad was in bad shape and went downhill fast. I lost him in winter. He was only 61 but very sick. He taught me a lot though and I watched this video because he had a 83 4x4 jimmy with the 2.8. They can climb anything in low.
Beezlebub Bee I'm sorry to hear that Rip to your daddy
Haha this was funny. I absolutely missed this truck 😁
Very nice. I liked that Jimmy a lot so it’s nice to see that you have a better one now. Also, how is your Viggen doing?
I sold the Viggen after a short ownership haha. It was more of an impulse buy when I sold my Viper. Transmission started leaking and while I got it fixed, it made me realize the nightmare I was probably getting myself into. As if I didn't learn with the white '95 moneypit saab I had haha.
Saabkyle04 I’m sorry to hear that but as someone who used to own a 2004 9-5 Aero I think you did the right thing moving on. These Saab’s are getting older and they’re only going to get harder to keep on the road as the years go by.
Good job with the video. Also does this car work now.
I have a 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada AWD that is pretty much the Jimmy but Oldsmobile version. Im working on getting it restored back to where it should be. I still have to replace my A/C, ball joints, and possible tie rods, etc. But like i said im working on getting it fixed. Mine doesnt have AWD at the moment either. I gotta get that done too. Anyway nice Job Kyle. Always good videos. Take care.
That's awesome! I have a '94 Bravada, and have done the tie rods, idler arm, and brakes so far. Still need to replace the pitman arm and steering box. Are you on the Blazer Forum?
sbreiland Yeah i have to replace the Idler arm too and a pitman arm, along with the driver side front ball joints. Im taking it one step at a time.
Awesome video
I couldn't help myself but go back watch one of your old videos when u first got the 93 Jimmy
I think it would work well if you got two of those floor model air conditioners and put them in the garage for cooling. The only problem is finding a way to run the tubes for venting the waste.
I like the vlogs Kyle you should keep doing them!
I believe the intake manifold gasket was a common thing to go out on the 4.3 vortec. I remember my dad said he had to change one in an s-10 once.
Hey Kyle, Please do an in-depth review about your lawn mower. 😂
My dad had one, like the POS one you have, that vehicle is my childhood
I like the fact how patient you are and how passionate you are with cars. And instead of getting mad at the situation, you make the best of it which makes us all laugh. You really do deserve more views (and subscribers) than you’ve been getting recently (Darn you UA-cam algorithm!).
Who else would love to see Kyle review a lawn mower in his usual and trademark style?
He did
My fiance and I have a 1994 Jimmy that still runs and drives (she isn't always happy about it but normally she starts up with a little boost) the heat and ac doesn't work, the interior is rough, about to be a 25 year old Jimmy with only 143,000 miles on her she normally gets the job done. We bought her for only 500 dollars and our kids love it!
Looking forward to the series. Does the 1993 have the TBI or Vortec engine?
You should get some spray insulation installed in the garage, and install an AC system as well.
LOVE the grand markwiss! Is your papa still with us? I hope so he is a neat oldtimer
I picked up a 1994 s10 2dr blazer for $450. It's really nice but as I drive it has little things that come up. It's a 4th car for me so I don't expect too much but I love it.
Look into a mini-split heat pump for your garage. I have one in my server room and it works great!
Both Jimmys are really clean from my perspective. Most of those square bodies rusted away long ago up here in Michigan. The ones that remain look like Swiss cheese or have no front fenders left to speak of.
Yeah man, that's very true. If I decide to part the rough one out, hopefully it'll help some folks out there.
a friend of mine had one of these as his daily driver - bought it practically brand new back in the early 90s. He had it up till about 5 years ago. I also had a very similar vehicle- the Bravada & it looked almost like a clone of my friends Jimmy. I got it off of Ebay for about $1100 & had it for a couple years before I got fed up with fixing it cause it was just falling apart on me. I ended up donating it to charity.
I love your video so much.
Do an offroad build for jimmy :D it would be fun to watch. btw greetings from finland
Most definitely of u do part it out I would love to buy that grill and maybe front bumper to I just bought a 92 s10 and need a grill for it
Hey I really think people would enjoy a full garage update!
You should do a in-depth review of your lawn mower!
Dude, it's funny you mention that. Back in the day, I did a silly video on a riding lawn motor haha.
😂
Damn kyle, back at it with the dad shoes!
That digital dash is sweet!
Very nice find
I’ve owned any kind of 1st gen s10 you can think of. I think the most surprising thing in that jimmy is the fact that it has working A.c. on the other blazer that has a bad head gasket you should do a 350 swap.
Great trucks. That 4.3 was a tough engine.
Gotta love the Dodge Demon hat Kyle! Any plans to purchase a Demon? Lol
I’d swap out the gauges and that tire carrier, both look sweet
i see you use the same type of jump box as mine!!! i found out one flaw in the jump box we use and its that when the charge drops below 75% the box has a hard time jumping off the battery and its best just to keep them full charged and not to try to jump your battery on it to many times.
Makes sense! I think the battery in the jimmy is just toast, the jump box has definitely been helpful in the past.
The 94 jimmy sounds so good at idle its got a nice rumble to it I like it
I had a 94' Jimmy SLE 4dr 43. Vortec Black w/Beige guts. I really miss that truck. I kept that thing for 9yrs, bought it used in 98' w/50k on it and sold it in 07' with 268k on it. Only issue was the 4wd locked in 4 High coming back from Chicago to Detroit and GM replaced everything in the front end under warranty, never had another issue. Great truck, sucked on gas though.
Takes me back to 2007 when my friend's dad gave him his old 80s K-10 Jimmy 2dr 4x4
Damn I was hoping that thing would hold up. I bought a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer for $500 at around the same time you bought your first Jimmy but my beater SUV is still running great. Best $500 I've ever spent frankly. My daily hasn't started 3 times since I bought it but my Mountaineer has only done that to me once. But since the fuel pump replacement it's been 100% reliable even with over 200,000 miles. I drive it more than my daily at this point lol
Noooo. Popas car is in there... I hope he has not passed. Such a spirited man. I remember him from the "old" videos!
I would recommend swapping out the power steering assembly from the broken down jimmy to the newer one
Use radiant barrier paint for the garage it claims to cool down up to 30 degrees lower than the outside. that plus a small 1 ton minisplit should be enough to keep it cool enough
My Sonoma does the same thing with the windshield wipers coming on when u start it even though there off
I love my Jimmy. Wish I had a square body but the 2000 SLE doesn't look all that bad. Reliable as hell
Please do the gauge cluster swap! That would be so awesome!!!
Loved hearing the 93 jimmy whine on startup !
Ahhhh I love that digital gauge!!! Too bad the new one doesn’t have it :(
MEOW MEOW yeaa
He should switch it into the other jimmy
