Survivor K5 Parked for years. Will It Start? 88 GMC Jimmy 4X4

- After being parked in someones yard for 10 years this K5 was saved by my neighbors Josh and Mike. Can me and the kids get it running again? It is a throttle body fuel injected 5.7 350 with an overdrive automatic and four wheel drive. They produced these K5 Blazers and Jimmys from 73-91 and there are not too many left in as good of shape as this rust free survivor. Hope you like the video.

After a horrible day I'm thankful to have you guys to help put a smile on my face. I'm really digging this Jimmy. 👌
Awesome glad we could help
Josh and Tosh and the kids are one of my favorites. Y'all Mortske, NNKH, VGG, Dylan mcCool and junk yard digs and pole barn garage...replaced my tv shows.
@@jackharrison4327 Same here, bubba.. same here. Puddin's Fab Shop also for me though lol
Great job guys! I get so excited when you do a new video. Makes my whole week! A rig like this would be a great first car for Wawa. She'd be real safe in it.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it
Ralphie's first facial expressions after he's driving.... Priceless 😱🤪🤣
He’s too funny
I can’t wait till they get that Corvette up and running….bet he goes and sits in it every day. When my dad parked his 64 Chrysler New Yorker in the late 70’s me and my little brother played in it everyday.
Cannot believe you only have 155k subs...rapidly becoming my favorite channel..
Awesome thank you
It's nice to always see the family work together on vehicles its nice seeing you get some clean rust free vehicles I love everything about that vehicle even the color black with good size tires is really nice can't wait to see your next vehicle and video 😀
Thank you so much
Sleeper Dude, if you put a small pulley at the front of your lift and a stout rope you could easily pull on the rope attached to the front bumper of the vehicle and the vehicle would go onto the lift with a lot less trouble. Just a thought...
That works! And I always thought they should mount a winch on the floor near the wall…
Yes that would probably work good
Man guys, this is a keeper for WaaWaa. This should be her daily driver. It’s a safe, tough 4X4 vehicle. Also low ins. Oh my your youngest barefoot when it’s 40 degrees out? She’s a tough lady! I’ll say it, love you guys!!!! 🥰👍👍👍🥸
For cleaning aluminum carbs and parts, I found the best cleaner to use in the ultrasonic cleaner was a product called Simple Green Extreme. It is the cleaner used by Boeing for aluminum components and leaves no residue like a lot of other cleaners do. It's a concentrate so a gallon bottle goes a looonnnng way.
Thanks for sharing
another masterpiece guys such a tonic , my father passed away friday night so things are a bit hard at the moment , thanks for cheering me up ... already looking forward to you next video ... take care ....
So sorry to hear that .. glad we could bring a little joy 🥹
I'm sorry to hear about your dad, buddy. My condolences to you and yours, sir.
Thank you all for you kind words ....
Nice save on that Jimmy, thanks for the rebuild lesson on the TB injectors.👍
Awesome thank you
I am so exited to watch this video! I can’t wait until you guys have millions of subscribers and look back on this moment and know I’ve been here since day 1, keep up the great work guys! I love you all
Thank you
I love your videos! It’s always great to see the family and the critters
You are so kind thank you

I've had 20 of them sqaurebodys. I have a k5 now. It's a beast custom resto mod show truck yall would love it. You have a 20k to 30 k blazer Jimmy there. They bring top dollar now days here in North Alabama they sale everyone wants one in that condition. Especially stock factory like yours. It's rare to find it that way .. I love em. Good job man !!!
Thank you so much
I have rebuilt over 50 motors back in the late 70's and earily 80's and learn something new everytime I watch your videos, now I know how to rebuild those injector body, sorry don't know the correct name for it,even after rebuilding over 100 carbs, I still learn something new watching your video's, you and your crew (family) doing a EXCELLENT job.
Thank you
You need to get you a winch and a mount plate and anchor it to the floor, it will change your life getting cars in your garage. Also, the bolt thing to use on the side post batteries, I've done for years as well. Not sure why the dealer didn't do that. It's the best working setup there is.
Thanks, your videos, and their content, are always a Treat ! A tip of the hat to you folks.
Amen....Loved that my brother! May continued blessings be on you and your family, in Jesus name.
Thank you kindly
Every time I see the Black Kitten I remember our Cat Molly. She was with us for ten years. I was with her when she passed. I may be a 62 year old Man but I cried like a baby. Hope you show more of him. Liked and shared.
Yes that stuff is soo hard!!
Interesting injector set up huh.
Learning while I'm gurning!!.
Well done you lot! ❤️
Yes, thanks
Great family working together and having fun doing it. And the kids are always learning something. My only concern is watching the girls their long hair leaning under the hood with the engine running. I’m so concerned that it will get caught in a water pump or alternator belt. Same issue with Anyone with long sleeves of hanging shirts or coats. Safety at least 2nd. All the best.
Ok thank you
да, это был страшный момент
You're a good man and that sets a good a example with a great family.
I appreciate that
You're a hundred percent right I owned a 1985 mustang GT with the 4-barrel carburetor in the five speed. But the automatic came with fuel injection and five less horsepower than the four barrels did that was a nice car black with tan interior. Beautiful!
Awesome thanks
I would buy it in a heartbeat 👍❤️
Yes it’s super cool
God hearing that thing running immediately took me back to my childhood in the early 90's, my dad had a 88 suburban with a 350. Also wow it sounds like a 99.735% perfect condition 350... WHAT A GEM !!!
Good ole classic pickup. . not many left they were very reliable.
Yes for sure
I watch this for hours, so cool, and I like that the whole family is involved and even the goats participate 😂👍 you are a great family
Luc from belgium
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's like Christmas for the first time everytime we get another sleeperdude video. I can't wait for mor rv videos and when are we gonna get another Ralph build?
More to come!
Wawa so sensible driving at the end no where as dangerous as mum lol
Exactly
The kitty is at the “Terrible TWO’s”, like a human ! Just tell Him NO! Point finger at him, calm voice, and walk away if they continue.
Yes you are correct
We appreciate you all too! Another great revival...enjoy your Jimmy, neighbor Mike!
Thank you! Will do!
I'll take anything of that vintage, especially in that condition ! Bronco, Ram charger, Jimmy/Blazer . Total keeper, will tune in for more. Looks like the roller 302 will be online soon, best luck !
Absolutely great video as always.Love you and your family.Only complaint..if you could call it a complaint is,it just wasn't long enough!!Keep up your great work.
Man I think this ol girl is worthy of a paint revival! Great job Everyone in bring her back!!
Mike if you mud bog this truck I will find you, get an autograph then scold you
That's awesome Josh! I love a K5 and once I can get rid of my van I'll be looking for one of these or a full size Bronco👍Another one brought back to life from the Sleeperdude family 🤘
😎 awesome thank you
Thank you for your APPRECIATION Josh
My pleasure!
Exelente trabajo cada ves uno aprende saludos linda familia de Lima Perú 🇵🇪👍
Thank you
That is awesome to hear that all it took was Injected to get it started. That will be a nice family vehicle to ride in. It clears up nicely too. Keep it & drive it on the road. You & your family takes it easy buddy.
It's good to see good family people doing things together and enjoying the days together.
Awesome thank you
Love seeing a family have the boldness to pray over their meal in public!! Tremendous example
Thank you
That sure is a mighty fine lookin classic brother Josh.
Great job Sleeperdude family !
Thank you kindly
Forget about the RANGER RALPHY...IT'S BLAZER TIME! SWEET RIDE! GOOD JON DRIVING WAWA
Yes 👍
Looks like you got a keeper in that one. Love seeing the whole family ripping around the pasture.
Amazing how the older modern fuel injected engines are that reliable...much more than the $80k trucks of today. Awesome videos of getting this Jimmy back running well done.😁⛽🔧🥶🇺🇸🏁🐐
Great point!
You talking direct injected port injected is great direct has issues and forget modern diesels are so much crap attached to them to pass emissions there a mess
WooooHoooo! Glad you got it going and it is a nice ride. I hope the headlight situation got fixed after the video as well. Great find, Mike! Love watching the family working together!
Thanks again!
Everything is Metric on that model, sounds good ,looks good,Hope it runs good .Love your channel, God Bless you and your Family
Thanks, you too!
What a unit ! We don't see too many here in Iowa, they rotted away to nothing .
I believe it
I have 1990 k1500 stepside and when I thought the fuel pump was bad it turned out be the ignition model was bad so now I keep one in the glove box with a 7mm nut driver the truck has over 350 thousands miles on it .
Oh wow
Awesome. I love to see you all interacting together. 👌👍
Thank you 😀
@@Sleeperdude that's how family's use to be. Everything together
Ralphies evil laugh was so funny. LOL
Only 2 mins in and everybody has whip lash! 🤣🤣 Great video 2x👍
Reminds me of being a kid and going out with my mum. She was the one who had the sports cars (my dad had the sensible car) on one road she would have all 4 wheels in the air with us kids screaming "do it again"
Glad you enjoyed
@@Sleeperdude 👍👍
Sure someone else has confirmed.. Yes 85 GT 5.0l 5-speed was the last of the carbureted V8's, Autos had the first EFI throttle body. 86 they went to port injection for all. As aside not, in 86 the 351 Bronco/F150's are still carb and the 302 was EFI port injection
That gloss black paint is so shiny. What a cool rig.
I think you guys need to paint the dash black.
Yes she is nice
Hey bud do you know what you think you are doing you are working on a Chevy think you can handle it having fun with you guy I know you'll get it running you're good at what you do I enjoy your little show
Thanks 👍
Sweet revival buddy!
Truck is very nice for all those years!
Yer family are great folks!
Thanx for a great vid!
Thanks 👍
Watching your channel makes me anxious for this spring. So I can do a lot of work to my truck! I have 2009 Chevy Silverado z71 4x4... thanks for the inspiration you probably give all of us who watch. 👍😊❤
Yes we can’t wIt for the time to change and have more daylight
@@Sleeperdude that's a 25k price blazer
Lot of laughs and a whole lot of learning awesome family thank y'all
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the Jimmy But I don't blame you for not checking Mike's rear end 😉😬
🤣🤣🤣
Pine-Sol & Simple Green makes by far thee best ultra-sonic cleaner solution try it... I have been using that mix for 7 yrs
👍 yes
That sounded nice and quiet when you started it. You scored on this rig.
I think so too
Nice truck..your a good mechanic and both of you two are great parents
Epic video on this one. Minimum repairs just a lot of tender loving care. Just gotta love Wawa's laugh after missing the radiator. Aloha from Kansas
Thank you
If that had green coolant. I thought you said green when first looking...it will make a mud when mixed with dexcool. That vintage k5 should not have dexcool in it, only classic green or universal. If you mixed the two flush it immediately
I love the old Jimmys. My granddad had a 78 we took that thing everywhere. It never got stuck. We pushed snow with the bumper one winter. Took it on vacations all over the place. It was a great truck.
That’s awesome
Yes even my '89 Ford F150 has throttle body fuel injection and my injectors have never gone bad because i drive mine and it doesn't sit long enough for anything to get crudded up like that one did after sitting for 8 to 10 years. You are right fuel injectors either work great or they are dead. Thanks for another fun video.
That’s right thank you
Ralphie is such a good driver 👍very good video!
Thank you 👍
That Jimmy should be Wahwahs ride
It was awesome getting Mike in the video, he seems like a really great guy!
Poor squeez, she always gets left out when it comes to driving
Well she’s only wrecked every go kart motorcycle and bicycle that she has had🤣🤣🤣
that is a great truck Josh.
Thank you
That really is a very very nice looking very solid Jimmy good work y’all
Thank you kindly
Доброго времени суток.Карелия Россия на связи. Большое спасибо за видео очень интересно.
Thank you so much
Why you don't bolt a wentch to the floor infront of the lift to pull cars in is beyond me.
Yeah we should
Yup, you guys just made my day.🤗
So glad!
You know that screen you put up that says "check us out on our other channels". Can you put that up after the previews so those of us who despise previews, have a marker to scroll ahead to?
I put the white logo on the screen for the intro so you could see when it’s done
One of the cleanest old vehicles you have had very nice best of luck to Mike
Thanks 👍
The Best AWSOME family much bless 🙏🏽
Thank you
Outstanding job! Simple & Green does a good job in those ultrasonics too.
Thank you! Cheers!
Josh, you look like a child on Christmas morning when you back them out of the garage.... 😀
That is such a cool 4x4, you guys did a great job getting it back in shape. The look of terror on WaWa's face when Tosh was driving was priceless. You both have some great kids.
got a questition. did you know that black cats are superstitious? did any of your family have bad luck for a long time etc?

I like how you and your family have a great time together working on those vehicle's 🤣👍👍👍👍👍👏👏
Thanks 👍
Is it wrong to say….. you don’t upload enough? My whole family is forced to watch the new sleeperdude videos as soon as they are released….. well it started as forced by me but now we all say you don’t upload enough 🤣
Your family gives me strength that the next generation will be somewhat okay, as long as we check our rear ends!
Personally I would never sell that Jimmy.
It is nice
Can’t wait to watch this! We watch your videos every family night!
Awesome! Thank you!
I think that would be a nice first vehicle for Waaa Waa. What do y'all think?
Everybody needs Mike the neighbor.I had mister brown. You could count him when needed help.We lost him years ago.I miss burning hedges and cooking hot dogs. Don't let those memories be missed enjoy life to the fullest.cant say enough about you and your family you are well lessed.keep teaching
Yes!!! Thank you
Little advice about the kitten... needs a playmate . Problem fixed
Josh you are correct on the 85 Mustang GT auto cars were cfi, manual was four barrel. I bought the next year 86 GT manual with port fuel injection and roller rockers...It was a ripper and such a fun car...First new car ..Best part was the fact that I worked for a Chevrolet dealership!! Got lots of ribbing from coworkers but they secertly loved it !!!
Awesome thank you
you guys are amazing wonderful lovely family keep up the grate videos ❤️ David from Scotland 🏴
Thanks so much!!
Hello again from Ocala. Josh, just wanted to answer the question you posed in the video. Haven't read the other comments so I don't know if anyone else did. You are correct about the 1985 Mustang GT. I had an 85 GT convertible with AT. I found out that those 85 GT's with auto did indeed come with the fuel injection. The 5 speeds had a 4 bbl carb. I don't know how the 86's were set up. Even though I had the fuel injection, I still had the full size breather with the dual snorkels. Although I have an 06 GT Convertible now that we use for shows, we still miss our old Fox Body. Great video and the Jimmy looks awesome. Another vehicle I wouldn't mind having. You always seem to come up with many cars I wouldn't mind having. Greetings to all of your clan, and we look forward to the next video.
Thank you so much
The Jimmy runs really well. It’s expensive but it deserves a full tank of 91-93 octane and a set of AC Delco R45TS spark plugs.
Yes for sure
I love cookout, but inflation (or shrinkflation) got them too unfortunately
Ever have a car or truck be the one that got away? Well, I have! A black 1988 GMC Jimmy! My husband & I were just talking about that darn truck the other day! We met in 1992, sooooo I might just be as old as Mike the neighbor 😂! I thoroughly enjoyed these videos TY! I have 2 vintage Vdubs now and I'm getting my husband to come around to them lil by lil! Can't help it! I'm a twin and we bought our 1st Vdub when we were 17! The rest as they say.....
Oh wow
I say put a doggie door in the wall ahead of the lift. Then use a chain or winch cable through to pull 'em in,. And how long is it gonna take for you to make a ramp or something in front of the door. To keep Ralphie from risking his breeding future.
Yeah that might be a good idea
Great episode! I am a Ford guy but I REALLY love this Jimmy! My only disappointment was there were no words of wisdom from Squeezie!
They sent you face shields for a reason 🔨🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Had a lot of those TBI GMs, only had to work on one. Learned that the injector wires catch on fire if you pour too much gas in the throttle body and it backfires lol. I was trying to get one of my first cars going during that experience, a 1979 Cadillac Eldorado with the oldsmobile TBI 350.
Oh wow
