I then ladle the cheese sauce over hot noodles in a large bowl and mix well before adding to my baking dish.The hot noodles soak up the cheese sauce better, and it's easier to mix in a separate bowl than in the actual baking dish. I'm sure your Mac & Cheese tastes as good as it looks. Thanks for sharing.
Omg 100% on point with this Mac and Cheese. I switched up a few things though, for the Cheeses I added half cup Ricotta some sharp cheddar, Gouda and Monterey Jack topped with bread crumbs Gouda and Colby. I also added some complete seasoning for added flavor. Best Mac and Cheese sauce recipe I've tried 🎉😊

Let me tell you…my family’s recipe (we are not southern) includes Velveeta (and real cheese) that’s how I was taught to make it. This is thee only thing I’ve used processed cheese for. For several years I’ve been doing different things trying to make my mac n cheese looser and creamier, as well as trying to eliminate the Velveeta. I’ve made a roux before for cheesy potatoes, not even knowing that you could use this with mac! I was looking for a simple recipe to make my own and this was perfect! I made it a few nights ago and the family loved! Thanks so much!😀

Love it. This recipe is basic; and you can do a lot of variations. I never use processed cheese or eggs in my mac and cheese. A seasoned bread crumb topping is a nice addition too. I do prefer fresh shallots and garlic to dehydrated. I add some mustard powder to the roux and a few dashes of hot sauce too. I’m not telling any other of my variations!😄

i like the cubes in mines, sometimes with the roux alone, it be creamy, i like that little burnt bottom and thickness throughout, i also will put white cheddar cheezit for the top for crunch

The kind you use depends on the flavor profile you're going for but sharp cheddar should be your base then add in a smooth melting cheese like fontina or gouda and then something like parm. I also add in paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and a splash or two of my favorite hot sauce. I like food that gives me a little kick.

Close to how I do mine, but I toss my pasta in the done rue sauce…then pour it in my baking dish, cover it with cheese and sprinkle with paprika to make it look beautiful…then bake and listen to all your friends say how much they love it.
so fire is good? last summer i had a brisket resting in the oven rapped in a towel cause i didnt have a cooler. my girlfriend didnt know that and turned on the oven and my brisket caught fire. that was not good. it was just the towel brisket was fine.

Sifting the roux is not necessary but thanks. Ive been a chef for 5 years now and ive never seen anybody in this industry do that lol. Ive tried it before with smoked paprika and its great too!
@@chefkristalkay why wouldn't you not sift your flour? You know lumps happen in sauces, gravy, roux and batters? sifting is key for smooth silky textures! When will you do something breads? A lot of people are really lazy when it comes to making bread.
Grant West Like i said ive never seen anyone in this industry do that for a roux. That seems like a “home cooks” move. Lumps happen in sauces when you add in flour to an already made sauce or if you add your liquid to the roux and dont stir it in time. Sifting flour is great for recipes such as cakes or cookies though.

great recipe 😊 but garlic and onion powered are the velveeta of spices, in my opinion. i’d suggest sautéing a brown onion and a couple cloves of garlic in the butter before making the roux, and if you still want onion and garlic powder then you will just need to use less 🥰 i can always tell when someone uses them.

Its not necessary to use both a roux and eggs. Both are a binder that holds the sauce together, so one or the other is fine. And thank you!

yes, American cheddar is dyed. I prefer cheese that is not dyed but for aesthetic purposes I used the regular American cheddar lol

Close to how I do mine, but I toss my pasta in the done rue sauce…then pour it in my baking dish, cover it with cheese and sprinkle with paprika to make it look beautiful…then bake and listen to all your friends say how much they love it.

so fire is good? last summer i had a brisket resting in the oven rapped in a towel cause i didnt have a cooler. my girlfriend didnt know that and turned on the oven and my brisket caught fire. that was not good. it was just the towel brisket was fine.

Less onion and garlic powder
Switch paprika out for smoked paprika
Make sure you sift your flour next time for the Roux.
Sifting the roux is not necessary but thanks. Ive been a chef for 5 years now and ive never seen anybody in this industry do that lol. Ive tried it before with smoked paprika and its great too!
@@chefkristalkay why wouldn't you not sift your flour? You know lumps happen in sauces, gravy, roux and batters? sifting is key for smooth silky textures! When will you do something breads? A lot of people are really lazy when it comes to making bread.
Grant West Like i said ive never seen anyone in this industry do that for a roux. That seems like a “home cooks” move. Lumps happen in sauces when you add in flour to an already made sauce or if you add your liquid to the roux and dont stir it in time. Sifting flour is great for recipes such as cakes or cookies though.
@Kristal Kay Eats Home Cooks?? Ha! I've been working in the food business for quite some time. I have seen and mirror the process sifting flour for each recipe that I have cooked at my job and training. Hence, sifting flour is essential to my repertoire.

great recipe 😊 but garlic and onion powered are the velveeta of spices, in my opinion. i’d suggest sautéing a brown onion and a couple cloves of garlic in the butter before making the roux, and if you still want onion and garlic powder then you will just need to use less 🥰 i can always tell when someone uses them.
