    ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
    The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

    I wonder how is the self-noise of the new amps? Is the speaker dead silent when nothing is playing?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому +2

      Hi WhiskyTanuki! No loudspeaker is completely silent for self-generated noise. We have done our best to minimise self-generated noise in the new A Series. It is now low enough to be inaudible even at quite short listening distances. If you do hear any noise at the listening position, it is then most likely coming from the connected source equipment. In this case, the loudspeaker is doing its job, i.e. reproducing the input signal!

      Hi there!
      We do not offer our own speaker stands, however many of our customers made good experiences with the following manufacturers: ZAOR, Jaspers, Output, K&M. The best way to find out which model suits you best is to try them yourself or ask your trusted dealer.
      For the A-Series, we do offer a mounting plate to ensure stability when mounting your Speakers, as well as expanding the possibilities of positioning. You can find it under the following link: www.adam-audio.com/en/a-series/mounting-plate/
      You will also find information about compatible mounting equipment via the hardware mounting matrix there. For any further questions, don´t hesitate to contact us via our social media channels or directly to our customer support.
      best regards,
      Jasper

    Do A8Hs have the same style of depth and stereo image as S3Hs? I was wondering if these have greater modern depth instead of every sound (everything) being pushed forward? Or do they still sit in the middle of modern and old-style depth?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому +3

      Hi Mert! This is a very subjective topic to which we cannot put numbers. The S Series is more expensive which allows us more budget to spend on better quality parts. This leads to improvement in the product performance, and this can include subjective areas such as “depth”. “Stereo imaging” can be measured as it is function of unit-to-unit consistency, and again, with better parts consistency can be better. Once the sound leaves the loudspeaker stereo imaging is greatly influenced by the room, positioning and other equipment in the room so please pay attention to having a symmetrical setup.

    Will there be a 3 way vertical model? Mid in center, tweeter above it.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi BeHappyBeVegan! In the A Series there won't be a 3 way vertical model as you described it. But you have the possibility to rotate the tweeter and position it vertically with the tweeter in the center.

  • @WhiskyTanuki
    @WhiskyTanuki 2 роки тому +2

    How does A77H compare to A7V in terms of imaging and FR if used in a vertical manner?
    I am debating to upgrade my order to A77H instead of A7V,
    but I will be using the A77H vertically (after rotating the tweeter),
    any harm to use it vertically if I position them well?
    I am really sold on the 3-Way design, but A8V likely too large for me.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому +3

      Hi WhiskyTanuki! If you are positioned on-axis, the response is the same from both products, i.e. flat in anechoic conditions. The room and equipment placed in it can then have an influence because the off-axis sound is not identical. Until you do the installation it is hard to predict exactly what will happen. In general, the A77H is a better loudspeaker in that it has a much higher capacity to reproduce bass than the A7V (about 6 dB more because there are two bass drivers). Also, it has a midrange driver which leads to much lower midrange distortion compared to a two-way system.

    • @WhiskyTanuki
      @WhiskyTanuki 2 роки тому

      @@TheSpeedyr6 I’ve been seeing that you can’t really have monitor too big for your room. As in you can always lower the volume, but the added benefit of 3-way/improved low end extension will be what I am for. I will still have space to angle them properly, and using them vertically doesn’t take up much more horizontal real estate than normal 7in. They will be less wide than my current Presonus Sceptre S8 actually.

    Hello Adam Audio,
    Could you tell me how to use A7V and A77V properly?
    My studio is 100 square feet.
    It is a completely soundproof room.
    I have an environment where I can check loud monitoring.
    Is the A77V too big for a studio of this size?
    I mix down and mastering for house music.
    Thank you.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi Yummy! 100 square feet is not that much but it is hard to judge without the exact dimensions and room properties. If you have proper room treatment, the A77H might be a good choice for you. Especially for mastering House music you want that low-end extension. If not you should think about the A7V which is available already. Let us know if you have any further questions. All the best

      Hi Mathew! You can check all the authorised listening centers worldwide on this link: www.adam-audio.com/en/adam-audio-authorized-listening-centers/
      And here you can find authorized retailers and distributors in your area via the dealer finder on our website: www.adam-audio.com/en/find-a-dealer/. Probably many of them would allow some listening sessions before buying. For that, you would need to ask them directly.
      All the best, Manuel 👍

      @@ADAMAudioBerlin Thanks for the info, this is really useful.
      Now I do have one concern, and this is regarding the conversion for the DSP. With the S3H monitors, it was noted by many consumers that the AES3 digital input effectively bypassed the DSP ADC. When users would use the analogue ins on the S3H, it is noted by many that the monitors simply don't sound quite as good.
      This concerns me because there isn't AES3 on the new A series, and the S series is a bit too out of budget. Is this something that ADAM explored when designing the new A range of monitors? As again with the S series, this was a huge problem and an area of concern for buyers. Is this issue resolved for the newer DSP system (and assuming conversion system) in the new A range?
      Thanks again, I would appreciate a detailed response regarding this as this is the only thing that is making me consider other monitors such as by Genetic or HEDD.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi Mathew! It is true that it is better to minimise the number of conversions from one end of the signal change to the other. The very best option is to convert to digital just after the microphone and back to analogue just before the power amplifiers. Very few do this in their studios.
      We did consider having AES3 inputs to the A Series however when we surveyed customers we found that few actually use them, so it seemed to be unfair to burden the product with the cost of a feature that few use.

    • @producermathew
      @producermathew 2 роки тому +1

      @@ADAMAudioBerlin My personal views is that the A77H seem to be the only monitor that looks attractive to me and the AES3 input would have been a welcome addition as the predecessors such as the A77x were a staple in many studios. Not many people can be bothered for the additional cost (unless you have the budget of course) of the S3H - and so it would have been nice to have needed to pay even £50 more per monitor to get AES3 so that we have the option to reduce the number of conversions. Do you have any quantitative or qualitative data with regards to the converters? Just so I can quantify the amount of degradation in the quality of the original output signal from my audio interface.
      Is there also an audible difference?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  Рік тому +3

      Hi there! Of course we have many measurements from our development efforts but we do not make them public because this is just too much information for customers. The D-A converters are sufficiently good not to degrade the signal on the way through the loudspeaker. One the most important aspects is gain staging which allows us to optimise the performance to achieve a much lower noise floor than would normally be possible within the defined budget. A measure of this is the self-generated noise floor compared to the maximum SPL, i.e. dynamic range.

    can i use the a77h for tracking and recording with no latency ?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi there! The latency in the A series is 1.7 ms. This is extremely low for a DSP studio monitor and so low that it is not an issue for your work. ;)

  • @behappybevegan

    Does it have a digital input?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому +1

      Hi BeHappyBeVegan! No. Our market research showed only a small percentage of our users require an AES3 digital, so to avoid the majority of customers having to pay for a feature they are not likely to use we did not include it. S Series is our flagship range and features an AES3 digital input.

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi ran! the bigger the room, the bigger the speakers. For small rooms we recommend smaller monitors like A4V or A7V. If you still have some lack of low sound, you can always add a subwoofer to the setup.

    What about the Comb Filter effect of the 2 woofers?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  2 роки тому

      Hi BeHappyBeVegan! The mid-bass crossover is 400 Hz and the half wavelength of that is 1.72 m. The spacing of the drivers is much closer than that so all around the loudspeaker you cannot hear out-of-phase woofers.
