- Join us as we delve into one of the most chilling episodes of the Dance of the Dragons: the story of Blood and Cheese. This dark tale unfolds after Prince Aemond's ruthless pursuit of Lucerys and his dragon, ending tragically near Storm's End. The aftermath left Rhaenyra Targaryen shattered, but it ignited a fiery resolve in Prince Daemon Targaryen for vengeance. Mysaria, the White Worm, became the architect of this revenge, recruiting the menacing duo known as Blood and Cheese. With their knowledge of Maegor’s hidden passages, they executed a harrowing plot within the Red Keep. Queen Helaena, faced with an agonizing decision, named her youngest son Maelor to be spared, but in a shocking twist, Blood and Cheese took the life of her elder son, Jaehaerys, instead. This video explores the depth of this revenge plot and its impact on the Targaryen civil war. Discover the intricate details of this tragic chapter in Targaryen history, where personal vendettas fueled the fires of war.

And that broke Helaena, the purest member of the family at the time. And the one gifted with Dragon Dreams, or so it appears.
In the show she’s a dreamer not in the books
Helaena having the gift of dragon dreams is probably one of the few changes I actually liked from the show.
@@joshpowell1045 it’s not mentioned but then again I don’t think a history book written by a maester would have mentioned this probably because he didn’t know that she had dragon dreams or they didn’t feel it was relevant to the story.

Poor Helena and kids. They are the only ones in the green camp who didn’t deserve any of that smoke.

But if she was aware of it (which no doubt she'd heard ab9ut it after the deed was done) and did nothing to punish Daemon for the actions taken, she is complicit.

What make me sad is that Helena had the third biggest dragon by that time , and she was a dragonriders yet she was too innocent to revenge her son , if she was as mad as her sister , she would have burned rehnyera and her sons, as a revenge for what they put her through.

I don't think they'll cross the line of showing a kid get decapitated, though. That's too much. I've been wondering how they'll show it.
@stoshmuru3321 They rarely show how a main character loses his head.
They'll probably do it like they did before. Like they did with Ned.
@stoshmuru3321 Its Game Of Thrones. They'll need a way to ensure the deed has been done for Daemon. Its going to happen, but how they do it is another. Maybe a shadow on the wall imitating the beheading as blood spatters into darkness. Something of that sort? lol

“Most vile act” homie chose something that isn’t even the worst thing to happen to a targayen let alone the worst thing to happen in the series
I would say it's one of the worst things I have ever read in asoiaf. Blood and cheese and Ellia Martell and her children's death by the mountain
Honestly her crime are unforgettable, I don't know how the show will portrait this chapter, but for me after reading it I hated rehnyera , and hoped she would have had a more horrible death than just being burned by dragon , I felt that both daemon and rehnyera are as cruel and ruthless as the mountain .
@@apomtaylor8054 Blood and cheese is not half bad as the Elia Martell situation, I don’t get why people keep comparing it,Elia was raped by the mountain who had the blood of her baby who had his head smashed in the wall, Rhaenys was stabbed more than 50 times leaving her little body destroyed, Helaena wasn’t raped and murdered and they killed one of her children and left two alive

They say those were actually his kids
There’s a theory they we’re actually Aemonds, but what a lot of people don’t understand is that Maelor and Jeahearys would have been killed anyway, they posed too much of a threat to Rhaenyra and they could have sparked another war.
@@darlynalvarez2950 No they weren't. There is nothing in the book that indicates it. Not even rumours. Helaena and Aegon even had shared apartments. After Blood and Cheese they had separated rooms.
@@danika9411 actually both the books and the show give indications that Aemond is actually the father of Helena's children. Aegon never shows interest in his sister and even offered her to Aemond, who clearly cared very much for her.
It's not hard to realize there is a very good chance Aemond fathered Helena's children and it would be easy to hide it. It could also be the reason he backs off stealing the throne from his brother who doesn't want it. Patience would eventually place his children there anyway.
Sharing a home doesn't mean anything. Example: the Strong children literally exist.
"team blacks all the way" lol
You are as vile as Rhaenyra and Daemon
The death of children is horrific, that includes Lucery’s
What goes around comes around all because Allicent was over zealous and ambitious, her father is equally responsible
it was vile, but hitting psychological damage on top of murder is tbh good writing for me. i’m relieved though that at least they didn’t assault the mom. freakin mountain is still the most vile. i still wish i didn’t know the things he did.
I love how everything Daemon does that is “awesome” and bad arse he defo gets 100% of the credit for as he should. But then when he does horrific things, it’s somehow Rhaenyra’s act of revenge.
Interesting how it wasn’t an eye for an eye back when aemond’s actual eye was taken…
It was an accident, not purposeful.
That one was a fight that Aemond started by hitting a 3 year old and then beating Jace savagely to the point a 6 year old got a knife to get him off of his brother. Even so it was an accident involving children. This was cold blooded murder and kinslaying (the greatest sin of the old gods and new) that was celebrated with a feast
Rehnyera became cruel and mad after the death of her child , that's why the people hated her .
@@aquasol333way purposeful.
They didn't cut his eye in SELF DEFENCE.
Aemond actually holds the rock and stands down and insults those bastards.

It’s implied that Alicent slept with Daemon at one point also, which would explain the feud between Otto and Daemon. Aemond also has more of Daemon’s personality than he does Viserys 🤷♀️
And Helaena went mad after that... Poor woman. She never had a mother's love and was forced to marry his drunken brother. Damn. Tough life.

Children murderer tyrant
Daaaaaaamn, that's the upmost emotional damage of all time...
Aegon throw a fucking party when Lucerys died. He and Aemond are at fault for blood and chees😢
Sadly Helaena, her children and Lucerys were only the first of many innocents to suffer
I have always had a feeling that Daemon's instructions were not that blood thirsty and that Blood and Cheese acted on relayed instructions that were not tranfered properly. I guess we find out in season 2 as GRRM is show advisor.
Yeah I’ve always thought it’s a little weird the ‘son for a son’ thing cause it wasn’t Aegon who killed Lucerys but I guess it just means a green son for the blacks son but it would be interesting if that actually is aemond’s son or if Daemon was the one who had the idea to make her pick and then kill the other one to be extra cruel or if he just ordered them to kill the heir and it happened to end up working the way it did because like killing the son is bad enough but to make her choose and then kill the other and have to live with the living one knowing you chose them to die and with their sister also watching the whole thing. Like it might literally have been less painful for them to kill all the children because to Helaena it kinda was the same thing because she refused to look at Maelor and I don’t know if she really wanted to be around her daughter either. She probably didn’t think she had any right to be a mother after that or maybe as soon as that happened she could already see how it would end for her children. Makes me wonder if Helaena killed herself the way she did because she knew that’s how Jaehaera would die or if it was the other way around. It’s crazy to me that out of all the people they could mess with they went after Helaena. They should’ve just freaking kidnapped the boys and used them to make aegon surrender. The one guy got away so he maybe could’ve smuggled the kid out. A kid as a hostage is way better than a dead kid. It actually could’ve helped end the war instead of making it a million times worse but daemon has never been great a deescalation of violence
So it wasn’t Rhaenyra’s revenge, it was Mysaria’s or pretty much Daemon’s revenge. Maybe say that.
Or, you know, say the wrong thing so a bunch of people, like you, comment on the video so it's higher up in the algorithm because people like you are interacting with it.

@@asp5399 Book aemond? No he wouldn’t care . Show aemond yes he would care.
The truth is the dance of dragons was really Viserys' fault. By ignoring the precedent set by the great council and decreeing that Rhaneyra would inherit over Daemon, and later his sons, he basically ensured there would be a succession crisis. It doesnt matter that Rhaneyra would probably be a better ruler then the others, the realm could have endured a not great king, but by ignoring precedent he ensured the realm would divide into separate camps. Also the show is clearly written to present Rhaneyra as the more sympathetic of the claimants, whereas in Fire and Blood its made pretty clear that they both kind of suck and lead their realm to ruin over their petty squables.
Well said he failed the realm right there. Succession/heir is the one thing that needs to be clear!

Rhaenyra didn’t order it. Your anger should be at Daemon.
Its a shame Blood and Cheese got caught, they deserved better to be so brave against the Usurper family.
They weren't brave. Blood wanted to rape little Jaehaera. There's nothing brave about killing little children and even though I side with the blacks you have to admit that it was an horrific act
O-o, yeah it takes tremendous bravery from two grown men to harm a toddler and a pre-schooler for a hefty sum. I guess Aegon followed the same logic as yours when he commanded a celebration of Luke's death and rewarded Aemond - any atrocity is good for as long as it's done to the opposing side 👍
@tserln1149 You mean break into one of the most heavily guarded places in the known world, knowing it will likely be a one way trip and they will likely become two of the most wanted in Westeros to avenge the death of the a good noble young lord ?
@randomaccount-dq1jq 1) we already witnessed how "well" the King's guards do their jobs, unfortunately, when they let majority of the next generation of royals slip away from them in the middle of the night on Driftmark so.. it's a questionable moment 2)do you really think Blood&Cheese gave a single f about some rich boy they never met? What was Smallfilk's opinion on 3 Velarion-Strongs isn't openly stated but gossip spreads fast, and there would be Smallfolk who see the Strongs, and who overhear the conversations of the lords.
Rumors about them being bastards existed for years and bastards were considered dirty and malicious by everyone, and as Viserys once told Rhaenyra "the truth doesn't matter, only perseption", image of the boys was tainted anyway. So the idea of Blood&Cheese avenging a noble boy is just BS, people like them would kill their own family for a bag of coins, they were greedy and arrogant enough to agree to commit this crime and to think they could get away with it, heroism or nobleness have absolutely nothing to do with this

Unfortunately the Mountain wasnt around to hand the Whiteworm over to. That would have been a fitting end.
Well aegon is heavily protected…. It’s fucked up but it makes sense why they went for his children instead of him
Aemond started the dance of dragons
She chose Maelor because she hoped he was young enough that he wouldn't understand.
Aemond started this war bloody, only one way it ends. Do I feel bad for Helena and her kids absolutely (especially with what their fates are) I feel worse for Rhaenyra. Having your throne stolen by your brother, that news sets off her pregnancy and loses her only daughter, and her 13 year old son under a messages banner being put down under a supposed allies banner, and by her other 20 year old half brother no less. They should be glad that’s all Damon commanded, they could’ve took all their traitor lives.
If they could they would lmao. What do you think they were doing? They were at war.
This story is a prime example of why people need to resolve all of their issues before things go too far.
That's some psychological warfare here, the one whonlive will never trust his mom after this.

Certainly not the most vile act!😂
You have to give Daemon his credit. He was loyal to people he claimed to care about. He knew who Lucersy was. He also knew he was a good person and he loved Lucersy’s mother. Still he got justice when he thought it was necessary. Even though Lucersy didn’t benefit him from what he believed he deserved
I cannot wait to watch this play out in the show
I can't agree that the retribution that was carried out was that vile. In fact, the fact that she indeed made the choice, which I for one as a mother would never have been compliant in doing, seems quite appropriate.
If I wished for someone to be safe from the Targaryen at that time was Helaena such a sweet child
The most vile act was the usurper Prince ageon feeding his sister and true Queen to his dragon
Most hilarious
Best act
So her “beast beneath the board” dialogue holds good in this situation as well… considering the killers used the tunnels
It was cruel and barbaric. At the same time, according to the norms of the period, you gotta admire the loyalty of Daemon, who had wanted the throne for himself, yet here was standing up for his wife the queen and her son that wasn't even his.
😢 Well ..
The greens did start it!
I can't believe Allison actually thought there would be no type of retaliation for killing Rheanyra son or her actions.
But Helaena and her children didn’t do anything at all. They were innocent. If Rhaenyra and Daemon wanted someone dead, they should’ve sent Blood and Cheese on Aemond or even Aegon II.
Most vile act?? I wouldn’t go that far. Yes, sad bc it involved children but there’s a few other moments that top this.
It is nothing but the consequences of the greens' actions. Daemon could have all the kids be killed alongside Helaena, but he only took one son for his stepson. He is cruel if you hurt his family but he knows the limits. Helaena has her brothers (Aemond who killed Luke at the most sensitive time and Aegon who threw a feast to celebrate Luke's death) to blame. If you don't like the reaction, question the action.
Blood for Blood & A Son for a Son
Halaena didnt deserve that at all. She even danced with jacerys in that last dinner together.
They should have just targeted aemond only.
I hope they don’t change anything about this for the show.
Knowing how sensitive people are nowadays, they'll probably tweak it
This is gonna be so hard to watch when season 2 drops
Ain’t nothing vile. Blood and Cheese had to slide for Lucerys.
The Greens knew that the Blacks were finna spin the block on the set. 🤷🏾♂️
“Ain’t nothing vile” ew you’re disgunting
i cant wait to see this
Please, please show this in the series!!!!!
Did he just give me the biggest spoiler of the incoming season?
Hopefully the show does this properly.
That is so smart. Let the mom choose which kid had to go and then kill the other one so the one who they let live grows up knowing your mom chose you to die
Smart? That's evil af
This is how empires fall.
They better show this is the series
Poor Helaena
that's how you make a villain
It’s been so odd watching this and knowing what’s coming. I didn’t read the books first with GOT, but I did read as much as I could about HOD before it came out. It’s this weird sense of “I hope everyone ends up alright” and “I know they REALLY won’t” 😂
