I think it was to prove his point, as when he said to Otto that he would rather feed his son's to the dragons... He is like "stop pretending your half brother is gonna happily give your throne back to you. I'd rather make you feel it first hand, than letting you lose this war so easily just because you don't want to fight your kin"
This is an excellent edit, but it would make it even more incredible if it included the scene of intimacy between the couple while they make love, facing each other eye-to-eye, heart-to-heart.

That last scene tho ugh it still hurts to rewatch but I've come to notice some things. Daemon was evidently frustrated with Rhaenyra, but even she didn’t expect him to choke her just to get his point across. He tried to belittle the knowledge his brother shared to his heir but she saw through it. Of course she did. She's the one person who truly knows him, whether he likes it or not. She knew it was more than that, and a few simple words broke down his stance then and there. Her smile might as well said "ah, is this what this is all about? Angry? Hurt that your own brother never trusted you with this? How pathetic." He walked away because there was nothing else he could say to disprove that. The moment she spoke of the prophecy, Rhaenyra wasn't his wife, his queen, anymore. Instead he could only see the child who took his throne. The one who took and became everything he wanted. Rhaenyra was more of a confidant and political ally to Viserys than Daemon ever was. This final straw rendered him into the jealous, violent boy he always was.
Totally agree ... I was hoping they would leave Milly and do make up & costume magic to make her older... shame, i loved the tension matt and milly had on screen
same 😅 she is beautiful but in most scenes she looks somewhat masculine while Matt Smith’s Daemon has a “feminine” type of handsome so their looks clashed
