Welcome back Travelers! In this video, we delve into the gripping event known as the Defiance of Duskendale, a pivotal moment in the history of Westeros.
Join us as we explore the causes and consequences of this daring rebellion against the Iron Throne, led by House Darklyn of Duskendale. We'll uncover the motivations behind Lord Denys Darklyn's defiance, the capture of King Aerys II Targaryen, and the heroic rescue mission spearheaded by Ser Barristan Selmy.
This tale--filled with intrigue, valor, and betrayal--set the stage for the turmoil that would eventually result in Robert's Rebellion. Drawing from George R. R. Martin's rich lore in "A Song of Ice and Fire" and "The World of Ice and Fire," we provide a comprehensive look at this dramatic chapter in Westerosi history. Whether you're a fan of "Game of Thrones," "House of the Dragon," or simply a lover of ASOIAF lore, this video offers an in-depth analysis of the events that shaped the Seven Kingdoms.

The DARK History of House Stark...
I am glad that the most evil thing in the novel Aemond did is the mass killing of the smallfolks because of his ego. Now let's remind ourselves what Rhaenys did at the end of Episode 9 of Season 1.
Full on “Sophie’s Choice”d her and then pulled THAT
Women always have it the worst in the GOT universe.
The show is 110% going to build up the "who really controls the dragons" angle. I guarantee it.
Caraxes strength meant that if he survived the fight against Vhagar...no other dragon would have matched it. Atleast none in Westeros.
Let’s kidnap our own king who’s already a crayon short of a full box, torture the shit out of him, and make sure everyone knows it was us. What was their end game just hope the targaryens forgive them? Do they not know their house motto is fire and fucking blood
He was the seven kingdoms Micheal Myers 😆😆😆😆
Hurt people, hurt people.
Do you know what she should have done? She should have said her name instead of her son's name. Because by doing that, it proves that she favors one. And indirectly hates the other because of her so-called dragon sight. She saw her youngest child be a cruel one.
I’m Team Black 🖤 but I do love Aemond. Wish he was on the right side of the war.
I hope we get to see this in the show because that's effing crazy
Daeron Atreides my beloved
Is that rollo?
In the books aemond killed him with full intent unlike the show so there is a good chance he did cut out his eyes
What the show is meant to be is the actual events while the books are history told years later by people who were not there. So some things in the books aren’t fully accurate events because all of the narrators are unreliable. For example in the books Daemons wife fell from her horse and her head was crushed in the fall, so the show runners made a guess that Daemon killed her and made it look like an accident.
@@BruhWhyDidTheyChangeThisDaemon was in the Step Stones at the time. The amount of changes with the events (Years in which they happened, character ages, how some of them die) would make different enough where they're different universes entirely. Which they are
Love it
SPOILER ALERT ⚠️
Why are these stories being read like they actually happened?
Pretty much why I laugh at Team Green fans when they try so hard to argue that morally they're not as bad as the Blacks.
Actually it was not necessary , he is not even luceryus father 😂 plus it’s war everyone will die at the end
That is fucking metal. Jesus
The rivalry between Bittersteel and Bloodraven over Shiera Seastar and Blackwood vs Bracken are a major cause of the Blackfyre rebellion.
I'm surprised she chose.
In the books, he was one of the worst human beings that had ever walked Westeros. He is a murderous, sadistic, and serial r*pist and in the show we got a very subtle version of him, probably for the best. The horrors and atrocities he had committed in the books are the stuff of nightmares.
If I had a nickel for every time a Targaryen who is a second son and rides the biggest dragon (at the time) decided to wipe out the House that was ruling Harrenhal, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s strange that it’s happened twice.
And that is how you break someone's spirit
I mean, Aemond's goal was to draw the Blacks out of King's Landing. What else can you do with (only) a dragon?
Yes this id absolutely vile and when it is not in the show I will flip the f out. But to be honest, if someone kills my child? You bet, I would want revenge.
Helena or whatever she call herself. If i was her, i would have said that I choose to die instead. It would have been fair fos a son of Raenhyra, a dauther of the greens.
A bit of both
He’s speaking a lot about the unspeakable… you keep using that word, I don’t think you know what it means…. And have you seen the 6 fingered man???
This was not an order from Rhaenyra though. I’m not sure if she was cold enough, even then, to have a child murdered in front of their mom and siblings.. Daemon is the one that set up the hiring of Blood and Cheese. So, I wouldn’t consider this Rhaenyra’s revenge.
Gregor Clinton was a crazy character
finest commander 🔥
Daddy checked his 501kg weights
He got his daddy to check his weights on his fake world record 501kg
The Daemon v Aemond clash will be epic!
I love how it says it’s Rheneryas, but uhm.. she didn’t do it. lol
isn't he called bloodraven
Por esta razón detesto al personaje de Daemon. Asesino y cobarde.
Ahh Daemon the one dude i wanted to see die throughout the entire series. He was always stirring the shit pot
cregan was capping when he said he would take out all 3 great houses with just 10k men
He still wasnt half the man his brother Sandor was
Queen Alicent deserved such torture since all of it was her fault
Cregan Stark was man of honor: He gave his word to the queen and honored his vow, whether she was dead or not. The phrase "My word is my bond" comes to mind.
I fking hate Rheanyra.
I hope they show all of this in the series
2k men lost in a battle is nothing, such a pity Americans resort to these fairy tales for lack of ancient and medieval history lol
Can people not like fantasy? And it’s not just for Americans
Then Daemon and Aemond have a bad ass battle and Daemon has to sacrifice himself to take Aemond with him so they kill each other in battle, the two greatest warriors of that era go to battle with each other and neither leaves alive
Caraxes is like a velociraptor 😂
I love house of the dragon... it's so good...but i think i woulda preferred an anthology type spin off...they coulda called it house of the dragon also...instead of focusing only on the dance of the dragons...each season...or possibly even 2 seasons...wouldve featured diff targaryen kings and queens...start with aegon the conqueror...then to maegor the cruel....jaeherys first...then viserys first...the dance of the dragons with rhaenyra and aegon 2....aegon 3 and the end of the dance...and the aftermath....all the way to baelor the blessed and the dragon knight...aegon the unworthy and all his bastards being made legitimate... leading to the first and most successful of the blackfyre rebellions....and end it with aerys the mad king...now that would have been a great series...they could tell all those stories in 1 to 3 seasons for each of the kings...we would get to see baelerian the black dread...we would get to see miraxes(not sure how its spelled)...we would see aegon the conqueror....maegor...we would see the battle at the gods eye between maegor and aegon the uncrowned...it would be great...we would see damon blackfyre...bittersteel and bloodraven(the 3 eyed raven in GOT)....it would be very entertaining...i first had this thought when i was reading blood and fire vol 1....
I agree completely. Ryan Condal is being vague about the future, but has said something to the tune of "there is about 150 years to play with between the Dance and Daenerys." So we might get exactly that, an anthology! The name House of the Dragon lends itself perfectly for an such an anthology about House Targaryen like you say. If they do, maybe they'll show us Maegor/Aenys and Jaehaerys and then start working down the family tree past the Dance (Aegon I already gets his own show). Of course Aegon V also gets his own show already, and his story is somewhat intertwined with that of Maekar I. But I''m sure they could make it work if they wanted to.
I believe it is better to make a series for each event of a grave value
