Had one for years ran it over still cuts like a dream never had a issue with it
Mate I got nothing like that and I got my saw from sthil shop here in Australia all I got was the saw they didn't even show me how to start the thing . Great video mate thanks for the tips and advice 👍
I’ve got a 180 and I have put loads of hours and chains on it. It is light weight-which I love but it cuts like a heavier saw. Your video was excellent!
Great video. Just purchased exact saw. Amazing explanation of how to use and maintain. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the tutorial. We used chainsaws a lot when I was a teen but that's been nearly 40 years ago. First time I've ever seen a saw with a brake, lol. Back then we had a Homelite about that size and one we had was seven days older than water even back then and I have no clue what brand it was, but the "bar" was really odd shaped sort of like a "C" and that saw was heavy! I think I'm gonna like this saw a lot more than the ones we had back then :)
Used my 180 for years and then moved into town. Haven't run it in about 3 years. Took it to my local shop and got it serviced and ready to go, and wanted a quick refresher on operation. This video fit the bill perfectly! Looking forward to helping my brother-in-law cut up and haul away his huge maple tree that fell. Thanks so much for the help!
It's Stihl not steel.
By far the best video I have seen on any channel.
Superb info, excellently presented. Thanks.
Wish you were here in Ireland 😪
Nice demo just brought Ms 180 today didn't have confordence about starting it .I do now ty.
Am guessing from prime to worm up the trigger must be squeeze
Thanks for the video, very informative 👍 😀
Thanks this is an awesome and informative video 😎
Wish you guys were closer...You get a new Sub though. Great video for me. My dealer went over this stuff, but who remembers everything?
That's why we do these videos! :)
i use cooking oil for chain lube, because its cheaper.
(no winter in country i live in)
True or False: Once the saw is started, I need to let it warm up for at least a literal 60 second period to prevent piston scoring?
I've seen some other channels tell me this is a hard rule. Is it with STIHL?
I have never heard that from Stihl. I believe 30 seconds or so is fine, generally you don't pick it right up and nail the top end under no load.
@@Carlsmower Cool, thanks!
Nice Chainsaw Stihl
Very helpful and thorough how to video.
Thanks for letting us know, it helps keep us motivated to keep doing these videos!
Good descriptive video
Just what I needed
Thanks 🙏
Good to hear! Thanks for your comment!
Great refresher on the operation of this saw ! 👍
Good video but id like to know how you judge the correct tension?
Thank you! We have one coming out soon. Subscribe to our channel so you get an alert.
Do you happen to know the difference between the MS180, the MS180C, and the MS180C-BE? I definitely want a 180, but I'm a little confused about different model numbers. Thanks!
MS180 is standard start and standard chain tensioner. MS180C (be) has easy start and quick chain adjuster
I hope you bought the standard MS180. The "C" is discontinued for many issues, and the "C-BE" is an "eco friendly" POS that will bog down and take twice the amount of time to cut the same log as the "old style" MS180.
@@patcurtis5287 thanks for your reply. Actually I didn't buy a saw yet, so your comment is very helpful.
@@tzampini If you are older and/or have some health issues, the C-BE easy start is a very nice feature. A small/light tug of the starter rope will fire it up. If you're a fully healthy capable human, the MS180 is 100% the way to go.
@@patcurtis5287 Thanks Pat, that's helpful
Super
MS 170 or MS 180?
MS180 is what I bought several years ago, it's been really great for me
How many inch bar does fit in ms 180
16"
Great Video! Appreciate the tutorial.
Our pleasure
Wich size of blade is that?
16” bar and chain
So helpful!! Thank you!
We love to help
Thank you good fellow!
How long have you had your MS180?
@@Carlsmower don’t even own one lol I was researching at the time on what kind of saw we would want or need for our needs.
WTF!
YOU DIDN'T EVEN START IT! What a lot of B/S!
If that intentional omission bothers you so much, you probably shouldn't own a chainsaw.
If someone knows this little about powersaws they should never touch one....
