- We'd like you to meet our camp stove, Bertha. She's been with me for years and she's never let me down. She's cooked with me on many a ranch and hunting camps over the years.
Chicken fried steak with country gravy, cowboy beans, sizzlin' taters and cornbread, all cooked on Bertha. Just say when, where and how much, and I'll come a runnin"! I might be almost 68 years old, but this Greenville Texas boy will drive just about anywhere to have that kind of meal and have the honor of meeting you and your Bertha! A good day to you sir!
+froggie6608 hey you're welcome in camp sir, hope you could taste some of it through the computer screen!
Ha,ha, Gee Bob, you speak like 68 is old! Damn, maybe the Mrs. Is right., I am old. But not too old to jump in the truck and head out for breakfast at The Cowboy Coffee shop....see ya next month.
Jokes on me, I just notice you posted this 5 years ago! I guess I need a new set of cheaters.
Thanks for the tour of Bertha!
And, thanks to Bertha for allowing us to watch her "bath" and "facial"!😊
+Pammie Doodle I think you can see she was blushing a little
I saw that rosie glow
Thank you for sharing your videos with us. When I watch one, it affirms to me that there is still some sanity in this world.
I had the exact same sentiment when I watched this! These videos give me some faith in humanity. Thank you, Cowboy Kent Rollins and nice to meet Bertha!
There are no words to describe the feelings Kent, Shan and the Beagle bestow upon me every day!
Thanks so much for watching
though I'm not a cowboy, I am an old hey seed , grew up on a small family farm. lots of daily chores, but always much love & good , homemade food. we grew our own vegetables, raised our own table meat, went fishing & hunting every year. I recall how at my parents table there was always enough food as well as room for friends & family. There was honest talk of honest , God given life and what it means to really be a human person. we had electricity & indoor plumbing, as well as an old wood burning stove my daddy made to custom fit our fireplace. Though it could be a hard life sometimes, I dearly miss the values I grew up with from that. Maybe that's why who you are & what you do means so much to me. Also before each meal we'd always wash dirty hands ,bow our heads and pray together. Thanks for helping me remember, much appreciated, & mucho gusto to y'all
Thanks Timothy for sharing, I've always thought that Rural America is the backbone of our nation
Kent's living the dream!
I'm gonna make me a mini Bertha for the back yard
How'd your project come?
So far I'm making a mini, mini Bertha out of a 5 liter olive oil container. I got a hole cut out where the pouring spout thing was and I replaced the plastic handle with a few loops of wire. Now I just need to cut a hole for the smokestack that I'll probably make with some aluminum cans.
This is my second time watching this video, and I forgot about the little cowboy at 7:27. He's probably a foot taller now and has finally grown into that hat. Seeing young ins raised up like this warms my heart more than words can express, and it's icing on an already great video about a stove I'd love to have parked in my backyard. Your videos are just as enjoyable and educational years later as they are the day they're released. Keep up the great work Kent.
He is so tall now, good cowboy he is. We do have a video on our new Bertha
@@CowboyKentRollins hey! Are you selling a stove similar to your lady Birtha? If so where can I buy?

Something incredibly sweet about this.......❤️
I betcha ole Bertha has tales to be told...I love a wood stove...my mom had one when she first married back In 1947....they lived in a small town , Raton NM...northern area near Colorado.any way...there house came with a wood stove but they used coal and she had a real Ice-Box that took 25 pounds of ice in the top...with a drip pan.my mom did not know how to light coal so when dad came home for supper, ( beans and hammocks), they were raw...mom could not get the fire started! She died 2 years ago and the world is without a beautiful kind woman who meant the world to me...I’m adopted and she gave me my life...I was and am a lucky man...thank you mom...I know she watching ur show bc she taught me to cook...I love it...purity good at something’s too. I love to bake and make pastries...thank you sir...I appreciate all ur hard work and techniques...bless you all! Watch ur back ....
Wow that is the coolest thing i have ever seen. I've never drove any cattle but when my great grandfather was still alive we would spend weeks on his farm counting cows and catching crawfish in the creeks of Ava, MS. Your videos make me miss those days and wish that i would have been a little younger so i could have spent much more time with him learning stuff and driving the old tractor and cooking with granny. i want to put one of these together so bad. I love to cook, there is nothing better than a good meal and seeing people smile while standing around the grill, or stove, or smoker. Maybe I could have something similar on my little patch of land someday.. thanks for warming my heart a little.
+Blake Sellers Thanks for watching and the old ways arent ever forgotten as long as you hold on to them in your mind,
She will reach temperatures unknown to NASA! Hahahaha! 😂🤣👍👍
Seasoned steel...NICE! It's like a lullaby
You are a hard worker man......I wish I had half your strength and determination.
Best wishes from a chilean follower 😀
Pretty quarter horse you got there! He didn't miss a minute of your video. Like ours used to, anything you do in their pasture, they're gonna be in the middle of it. We had one that would sneak tools out of my granddad's tool box! Thanks for the videos and God Bless you and your sweet wife & dogs!
Thank you for watching
A real man. Loved how old burtha looked when you finished her off. I spit out my drink when you said Shannon will use casket handles for your coffin. God bless and thanks.

Love watching Kent and his "Sheanagent" style!! He adds a bit of laughter mixed with Delish grub!! 😍
You made this video over 2 years ago but I just now watched it. I've been watching a lot of your videos lately and I think this was the best one so far.
Thanks CJ it is a good stove, especially in the winter
I like the way the horse walks away, dejected, in the beginning of the video. 😂
That propane burner beats the heck out of pine splinters and a match!
That firebox has fascinated me for a long, long time. This video cleared up questions I've had for several years. Glad I finally landed on this video. Thanks for sharing, God bless you both.
God Bless you as well
If steel could talk.
Rollins, you are reminding a generation about what so many did to establish the communities of the American South and MidWest: Work, maintain, and raise family for the sake of creating the beef industry that would emerge out of cowboying. So many remember and the young ones wonder. You and your wife, and them dogs have helped to remind us of a time our forefathers had to go through. Thank you. I have to admit, I can't hold back the tears because my grandparents and father all lived and worked before WWI and WWII, without piped water or electricity, or cars or good roads. Good to see your progress.
thank you sir for the kind words
Great video! Was a pleasure getting to know Bertha.
Thanks Kent , sorry I missed it the first time . Great Berthamentry along with the smaller stove/ grill . Looks like you folks have that down to a science. 👍👍

I can understand how you and that old stove are so close, and it having given you so many years of great service. That reminds me of my grandmother's stove which she used during her lifetime and I never knew what happened to that stove after I went into the military.
Very good, Kent. Glad to see something that is truly appreciated.

Things are things. But some objects become a part of you. As a guitarist, I understand your sentiment. God bless.
I have been wanting to have a good look at Bertha. Might just have to make here a cousin. Thanks for the video, you guys are part of what makes America great.
Great stove it is
Interesting. The major tool of the trade. Cooked many a meals in many states, and in many weather conditions. Reliable.
Ole Bertha is beautiful...now I want one!
by golly Kent; 'Ole Bertha sure looks good with a new Dew ! Thanks 4 sharing. ATB Terry God Bless
LoL!! loved the video Kent! I can see how much you appreciate her. But......I gotta tell ya......I think I'm in love with her as well!! But ......Shes your girl!!! Thanks again!!
I find something special about cooking outdoors... doesn't matter if its out on the deck or up in the Rocky Mountains... I know its easy to just do indoor cooking... but using charcoal, Hickory to throw some smoke into whatever you're cooking adds something special. This just puts something back into what most of us have lost over the years... and thats where people say food tastes so much better outdoors... you have a fun channel! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, outside is where Ive spent most of my life, thanks for watching
Not many cooks could manhandle and lift that steel behemoth. I love your videos. You make a tough job look a little easier.
she's a big ol gal
Very true, not sure I'd want to wrestle with that stove very often either, but the way he loads and unloads it makes it a little less of a chore, course a rope and pulley setup in the trailer would help if needed too in the future.
That is awesome!
very cool...love your videos!
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did it! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
+Weaselnest hope you enjoyed!
Nice! We all need a Bertha!
Kent, Thanks for the cowboy ways. I used to do a little of this on Dove hunts and hog hunts but now I just go to Buds Cafe in Knox City. Nothing tastes quite as good as cooking on a mesquite fire. I even cooked a cobbler and burned it. One of the guys spent and hour picking though the burned stuff just to get the little of the stuff that was edible. I didn't have one of your dandy horseshoe trivets and set the dutch oven directly on the coals. Not the thing to do. Well I'm now ordering your book and stuff so maybe if I decide to do it again, I will pass muster. Thanks for showing us the tricks of the trade and I hope to meet you one of the days.
Peace and God Bless and Keep you and Your's .
ADR
Thank you Allen and God bless you as well
By golly, my friend, what you've got there is a Sweet Slice of Life. You're probably richer than most people could ever hope to become. By God's tender Grace, He's Givin you something to do that you're good at and a nice Filly to do it with. Can't ask for much more than that.
Ol' Bertha is going to outlive us all!
thank you for the video neat looking stove

She will reach temperatures unknown to NASA

Binge watching me some Cowboy Kent!!! Keep the videos coming and keep up the great informative and great work. 5:22 WHOA!
Thanks for joining us
Oh Kent, buddy. Please wear a mask using that wire brush. Lotta bad stuff flyin round. You and Shannon take care!
Reminds me of Michigan winter's out in the barn..... Dad cooking on the potbelly stove. The coffee tasted better & the eggs seemed that'a way too.
phenomenal
"... use these handles as a casket for me... " Love it sir.
I now understand why you don't gain weight eating your wonderful cooking. Loved the blues music too. Take good care of that Shan and Bertha!
Kent you really should be wearing a dusk- mask when grinding on Bertha !
Very interesting video, thank you .
Mr.Rollins, is the only draft control thru the door? I've cooked in my Camp Ovens for several years. This and your other videos have me interested in building a "Bertha". Your cookbook will be in my mailbox in a couple days. Really enjoy your channel. God Bless!!
